Chapter 2010: Ignite the Strange Dream in Your Heart (Part 3)_1

Clark closed the car door, walked to the rear of the car, opened the trunk, and shouted to Lois in front: "Perhaps we can put your tripod in the trunk; there's still some space left here. I still think it's a bit dangerous to have sharp objects in the car."

Lois turned her head in the back seat and said, "You would never put us in danger, right? Clark, I can't thank you enough, without you, I couldn't have finished moving in a week."

"It's no big deal." Clark took the strapped tripod from Lois, stuffed it into the trunk, locked the trunk, and then got into the driver's seat.

Lois also sat in the co-driver's seat, fastening her seat belt and saying, "Congratulate me, finally I got rid of that annoying editor. When you left, I knew that I could not stay long there."

"I should be the one congratulating you for finding a new job you're satisfied with." Clark started the car and smiled at Lois and said, "And you found a pretty nice place to rent. The flat's weekly rent is only a bit more than a hundred dollars, utilities aren't expensive either. This month, when I pay my rent, I'll be envious of you."

Lois burst into laughter, brushed her hair back, looked at Clark, and said, "Then maybe you can get an inflatable pool to collect water and bring it back by flying."

The sound of the car engine came through, Clark stepped on the gas, looked at Lois and chuckled, "Is your imagination of flying reduced to just making your trips faster? The previous editor really wore you down."

"Cut it out." Lois patted his arm and said, "You know the terrible traffic in Metropolis has every single person leaving the supermarket deeply contemplating why human evolution did not include wings."

"Like birds? Birds can't carry twenty-pound bags, maybe you should dream bigger."

As Lois was about to continue joking with Clark, Clark's phone rang. Clark picked it up and heard a somewhat unfamiliar voice.

"Hello, is this Clark Kent? I have an invitation for you, could you roll down your window to take it?"

"Invitation? What invitation?" Clark asked in confusion, "I work freelance now, I don't recall committing to attend any events."

"It's not a banquet invitation, open your window."

"But I'm not home right now, I'm in the car."

"Open your car window."

Clark, unaware of what was happening, reached out to press the button on the car door. The next second, a dazzling holy light flashed outside the car door. Clark turned his head and saw a pair of giant white wings.

Both people in the car were stunned. The figure with wings flashed and then flew at a speed comparable to the car's, tossing an invitation through the car window before disappearing with another flash of light and a smile.

"Oh my God, what was that? Why did he look like an angel?" Lois screamed, "Did I see a man with wings?!"

"Uh, I didn't see any man. I guess you might have been hallucinating." Clark quickly responded, "It must be all those long nights and overtime that's given you hallucinations. I'll get you back to your new place as quickly as possible, you need to rest."

"But this..." Lois looked down at the invitation in Clark's arms, wide-eyed.

"It's something I found earlier. Bruce invited me to attend a… a soiree… in Gotham…"

Lois narrowed her eyes: "Clark, has anyone ever told you? You stutter when you lie."

Clark let out a sigh, rubbed his nose, and Lois turned back to relax in her seat, "Then let it be a hallucination, you're right, I've been too tired."

Clark's hand on the steering wheel faltered, then he covered Lois's hand with his own, turned his head to look at her and said, "I know, in the journalism industry, you've faced things even more incredible and more difficult to deal with than seeing a man with wings outside the window. You don't need more people telling you it is a hallucination."

Lois turned to look at him, her eyes sparkling as if touched by the wind, "If what I saw was really a hallucination, did you open the car window just to humor me?"

Clark put his hand back on the steering wheel and said, "I've seen many symptoms of mental illness in Gotham. I don't need anyone to tell me how to respond to their illusions, but no, Lois, that wasn't a hallucination."

"So, what was it?"

"Maybe he really was an angel," Clark looked at Lois and said, "It's possible, isn't it?"

Lois leaned back, her long hair falling down, she laughed deeply, turned back to look at Clark, followed Clark's muscular arm up to his short black hair dusted with bits of confetti, probably left from the farewell party earlier.

"I've thought of a good way for you not to feel jealous on rent day, wanna hear it?" Lois asked.

"What is it?" Clark momentarily turned towards Lois then returned to driving.

"Can you fly?" Lois pushed her fringe back and asked.

"What if I said yes?"

"Then I guess you still couldn't find a suitable inflatable pool to transport water, so why not come by to take a shower at my place?"

Three hours later, Clark came out from his apartment, shading his eyes from the slightly piercing sunlight, and opened the envelope of the invitation.

As he slowly drew out the card, a picture of a castle came into view.

Three hands with the same invitation were put on the table. Diana was the first to look up at Bruce and asked, "Have you heard of this amusement park called...um...what was it called? I just saw it, how could I forget?"

"Did the one who mailed this to you have wings and wore a black jacket?"

"How did you know?" Clark exclaimed in surprise at Bruce, "He suddenly appeared outside my car window, scaring both Lois and me."

"That's Lucifer, Lucifer Morningstar, indeed a real angel, at least in appearance."

"I didn't get a good look at his face," Clark confessed, shaking his head, "Honestly, he was a bit too dramatic. Couldn't he have just left the invitation in my mailbox?"

"The drama is exactly what he was aiming for." Bruce pointed at the envelope of the invitation, "Obviously, if the invitation wasn't from a different world, there would be no need for him to deliver it personally. Can any of you see what's written on the card?"

"It's a pattern," Diana said.

"What kind of pattern?"

Both of them recalled for a moment, but suddenly they stammered, unable to speak. Bruce tapped the table lightly, stating, "That's the crux of the issue. The destination referred to in the invitation is not allowed to appear in our world, and as such, this invitation comes with its own set of risks. Hence, the necessity of Lucifer delivering it personally."

"Is this going to be another dangerous, mysterious game?" Diana asked reluctantly, "Just because the venue is named an amusement park, is there actually twenty serial killers inside?"

"Isn't that called Gotham?" Clark questioned.

"Give me a break, there are at least two thousand in Gotham," Bruce brushed off.

"Are we going?" Diana asked, glancing around at the two of them.

"Why not?"

Even in November, Florida remained warm and was filled with a slightly desolate northern wind. Known as the "Sunshine State", Florida almost never sees a cloudy day. Surrounded by the sea on three sides, the sky shines as a blue as clear as glacial ice.

Excited gasps exploded within the cabin of the plane, filled with tourists, before it even landed at Orlando airport because they could already spot the gigantic amusement park.

Orlando Disney World is the largest Disney amusement park on earth, much larger than the others, with a total area of about 124 square kilometers, equivalent in size to Shanghai's Huangpu District, six times over.

Additionally, the area of Shanghai Disney is 1.14 square kilometers, Orlando Disney World is about a hundred times larger.

The vast amusement park has five standard golf courses and over 250 restaurants.

Orlando Disney World is divided into four areas: Magic Kingdom, Disney's Hollywood Studios, Epcot, and Disney's Animal Kingdom.

Each area, akin to that of a small town, has all the respective facilities. Not only the amusement rides, but also shopping streets, entertainment centers, camping areas, theaters, bars, and even wildlife protection zones, are all well-established.

Any itinerary that claims to cover all of Orlando Disney World in a day is a blatant scam. A day's time wouldn't even be enough to experience a fraction of the attractions in one area. A meticulous three-day visit would barely cover all the attractions and performances in one area without any repetition.

As soon as the plane landed, before the cabin door was even opened, the cabin crew, dressed in pink and blue uniforms, walked in, began distributing wristbands and fast-track passes with smiles on their faces.

The wristbands are usually linked to credit cards, but since all expenses were reimbursed this time, they operate in unlimited consumption mode. Similarly, fast-track passes can be used without limit. The only issue was, all of them were pink.

Stark cringed at the sight of two wristbands in Steve's hand, his smirk pulled practically down to his collarbone. He shifted away, saying, "Don't think about making me wear that thing. Do you have any idea how many germs..."

Before he could even finish his sentence, a fat blue-purple figure whirled in, attracting the attention of everyone within the cabin with his high-pitched chants.

"Let's see which little friend hasn't put on their magic wristband yet! Oh, my! Please put down the handkerchief right away. Magic only responds to those who are sincere towards it!"

"Don't worry about tiny germ demons sticking to the wristband. Allow me to use the fairy godmother's magic to drive them away!"

Upon finishing her sentence, the Fairy Godmother, adorned in a blue-purple robe, waved her magic wand, and a beam of light gently landed on the wristband that Stark had caught with his handkerchief.

"That's just a mini flashlight, right?" Stark whispered, leaning into Steve's ear, "It's impossible for waving a flashlight in a specific manner to sterilize it..."

"Pop!"

A real magic light ray hit the wristband that Stark held, and Strange, who was seated behind them, retracted his wand impatiently, "Just put it on already, how long do you plan to dally?"

As Stark lifted the newly shined and even sparkling wristband, cheers erupted throughout the cabin.

The rousing sound of singing came from the cabin door.

"This is Fairy Godmother's wonderful magic, oh dear mother, you made the pumpkin carriage fly, you made the old dress sparkle, this is the wonderful magic, welcome to the Magic Kingdom~"

In the midst of the noisy crowd, a youth with dark hair and blue eyes caught the headband with two rings that was tossed his way.

He curiously pinched one of the rings, and it made a squeaky sound.

Hearing the sound, Diana leaned over from the back seat and asked, "What's wrong?"

Bruce's eyes gradually lit up.

"It makes a bat-call!"
