Chapter 1652: Heading to Death Without Distraction (15)_2

Children from almost everywhere besides Gotham know this uniform, even if some privately schooled kids haven't worn it, they would have seen it from time to time. They quickly changed into their new clothes, then jokingly mocked each other's bulky appearance.

It took the kids from Gotham a bit of effort to figure out how to put on the uniform. They were the most uncomfortable because in comparison to their usual casual clothes, the uniform was indeed somewhat cumbersome and heavy.

Upon returning to the Great Hall, they were treated to their first display of the brilliance of magic. The room had been transformed into an unbelievably dreamy scene. Marvelous long tables and chairs floated in mid-air, translucent elves held wine pouring it into glasses, flowers, and donuts danced hand in hand, and candies lined up to jump into mouths.

No sooner had the children reached for the chairs, they had already found themselves sitting on them, very steadily, without wobbling, just their feet were at least two meters off the ground.

At the front of the Hall, a row of long tables floated as well, but they were occupied by professors and the like. Jim gently tap-tapped the table, bringing immediate silence to the hall.

"Alright, kids. Remember when I mentioned earlier? I'm going to introduce the Deans of each college. They will guide you through all your learning experiences, and you should respect them greatly."

Immediately, the children held their breaths and focused, taking to heart the workings of society they had already picked up. If you want to survive a group, it's best to try and please their leaders.

"First off, Professor Stephen Strange. He hails from a Universe nearly identical to ours. But over there, he is known as the 'Supreme Magician', commanding all the mages on Earth along with dozens of global Magic Temples and the highest leader of the Magic Sanctuary Kamar-Taj. He will be the Dean of the Force Academy."

After a sequence of grandiose titles, the children gasped in awe. Dressed in the garb of a local mage, Strange stood up, gave a modest nod, and raised his glass in salute.

"Next up is Zatanna Zatara, Dean of the Artisan College. She was born into a traditional magical family, with the noblest blood coursing through her veins. Antilanguage Magic is currently the most potent magic power in the magic realm. She is also proficient in a wide range of magical crafts like Alchemy, Pill Refining, Illusion Techniques, and Spirit Magic. She can also be deemed a jack-of-all-trades."

Zatanna stands up and nods towards the students, though her expression is a bit discontented as she kept glancing at Constantine, who can only manage a bitter smile.

In fact, Constantine should have been the Dean because he excelled in all subjects except for the formal borrowing of power from demons and angels.

However, Constantine knows his strengths and weaknesses; his leadership skills were terrible. After all, you can't expect someone who has spent years sacrificing his team members to lead a team well. Hence, Constantine has persuaded Zatanna to take up the Dean's responsibilities just two days ago.

"Finally, I want to give a grand introduction to — Professor Schiller Rodriguez. Besides being a professor at the Magic Academy, he is also a Psychology professor at Gotham University. Some of you may have heard his name. Yes, he is the famous psychologist Rodriguez, and he will be the Dean of the School of Magic Theory."

There was an immediate murmur among the crowd, some better-off students started to enlighten the others about Schiller's fame.

Just as the students' curiosity was piqued, the introductions abruptly ended. Schiller stood up, raised his glass, and sat down. Jim announced the start of the meal, leaving the students of the School of Magic Theory looking at each other in bewilderment.

However, they were soon distracted by the lavish food before them.

Today's main course was thin-crusted Neapolitan pizza; the meats included herb-roasted chicken, steak with mashed potato and beans, creamy sauce baked shrimp. For vegetables, they had the traditional Italian grilled vegetables, cream spinach dumplings, and tomato stewed chicken pieces. Soups included pumpkin soup and sweet pea soup. Of course, the commonly seen American fried chicken and fries were part of the spread, while donuts and non-alcoholic Tiramisu cake were served for dessert.

Not all students came from wealthy backgrounds, but when all the dishes were floating in mid-air, no matter how ordinary or even distasteful they seemed, they would be especially appetizing.

In the end, everyone ate to their heart's content; in fact, many students who skipped breakfast nearly made themselves sick from overeating. Yet, on the way back to their dormitories, some students from the School of Magic Theory couldn't help but to complain.

"The Deans of other colleges have so many titles, and sound so impressive, why is our college dean just..."

At this point, a child from Gotham quickly silenced him while looking around in horror, "Goodness! You'd better say less! If the professor hears you, we're all going to be in trouble!"

"But, all I was saying was..."

"Who heard what?" A voice came from the common lounge. The child from Gotham immediately let go of his hand, clasped his hands over his chest, and smiled at Schiller, "No, nothing, Professor Schiller, we were just joking."

At the same time, he was nudging the child who nearly spoke out loud with his elbow, motioning for him to shut up. That child didn't understand why, but at least he knew how to read the room, he didn't say anything further.

"I know you are curious about me. I don't seem to be someone who practises magic, but Magic Theory inherently focuses more on theory. Once you grasp the essence of magic, you will understand how

fortunate it is to be assigned to this college."

Schiller always had extra patience with children. He didn't explicitly explain who he was but left room for them to explore. However, this space isn't broad, as pretty soon the local Gotham children will start explaining to the others who exactly Schiller is.

"I'm here to ensure there're no inconveniences in your daily life. Is everything alright?"

"No issues, Professor, everything here is great. Really great."

"Alright, my office is on the third floor of the Mage Tower. If you encounter any problems, come and find me, okay?"

The children stared at him with wide eyes and simultaneously nodded their heads. As Schiller left, he found another letter on his desk when he returned to his office.

He walked up to the desk and saw that the envelope was signed "Batman". Clearly, this letter was from the Primary Universe Batman, but it was already his fourth long letter this week.

Schiller looked at the twenty or so letters from the Primary Universe Batman on his desk's letter rack and gave a soft sigh.
