"Seriously, when was the last time you took a bath?" On the highway in Colorado State, Star-Lord Quill, driving the car, turned to look at the raccoon in the passenger seat. He sniffed hard and said with no small amount of distaste, "I feel like you're starting to ferment, there's a weird smell."
"Worse than that, maybe I just passed out in the bar last night, got vomit all over myself."
"Ugh! Dammit, get out of the car. I'm going to take you to the nearby lake for a good rinse!" Quill slammed on the brakes, nearly smacking the unbelted raccoon against the windshield. Even though it didn't actually fly out, Rocket Raccoon's head still hit the car hard.
"Oh god!" Rocket Raccoon cursed in a language that Star-Lord didn't understand, then said, "I was kidding with you. I'm a raccoon, and raccoons love to be clean. Didn't you know that?"
"No, you must get out of the car. I need to check your hygiene to make sure you don't have any infectious diseases... Oh god, aren't there any wild animal quarantine laws or anything like that here? Someone save me."
Without another word, Quill got out of the car. He walked around the front of the car intending to get to the passenger side, but Rocket Raccoon quickly hopped into the driver's seat, ducked under it, and slammed on the gas. The car shot off with a whoosh.
"Hey, my car! Wait, don't run, you damn raccoon!"
A few minutes later, Star-Lord Quill was panting and leaning heavily against the car's bonnet, while Rocket Raccoon was digging in his ear and said: "Who was the unquarantined wild animal again?"
"You got me!" Quill showed his middle finger to Rocket Raccoon, opened the driver's door, tossed the raccoon back into the passenger seat, and sat down saying, "Quit messing around, we need to get to the Aerospace Administration Base in Colorado State before it gets dark. Lisa is waiting for us there."
Just after closing the car door, Quill wrinkled his nose again and said, "Whether it's for humans or animals, keeping clean is good for health. I will have them find a place for you to take a bath."
There's a undertone of concern in his voice that made Rocket Raccoon somewhat uncomfortable. He realized that Star Lord Peter Quill is actually a typical kind-hearted person. He seemed to be casual, irreverent, and even a little foolish, but he always subtly expressed care for others without causing panic or embarrassment.
"He folded his arms around his small paws and, looking towards the endless road ahead, the Rocket Raccoon said, "I have a feeling, you could understand it as an animal's instinct, that this won't be as simple as it seems, are you really prepared?"
Quill's grip on the steering wheel tightened, but he pretended to be unconcerned and said, "I've been in the interstellar society for so many years, what danger haven't I seen? Have I ever told you? This notorious interstellar pirate leader Yondu, is actually like my foster father and master."
Rocket Raccoon's eyes widened, he stared at Quill and said, "Oh god, do you know how much he exhausted me chasing me around a couple of months ago? Don't tell me you had something to do with that!"
"Of course not, I went independent a long time ago. Yondu has an extremely irritable temper. Other than cursing, it is hitting people. Except when he is drunk, he becomes a bit quieter. I couldn't take him anymore, so after I became an adult, I stopped working with the Ravager Team."
"I can say, it was the most correct decision you have ever made," Rocket Raccoon sighed, "A reshuffle is coming in the interstellar situation. Asgard wants to get involved and show its sincerity in maintaining interstellar safety. It needs a target, who do you think is the most suitable?"
"I don't care if the Ravagers live or die," Quill shook his head, "But I know very well, Yondu won't die. Besides his superb survival skills, who do you think he was working for before? Without some backing, how could the Ravager team have survived for so long?"
The man and the raccoon chatted casually, occasionally revealing their views on the interstellar society. Quickly, they arrived at the NASA space base in Colorado state.
Lisa is a typical career woman. Not only is she a member of the American Aerospace Administration, but she was already a commander before Quill left Earth.
Seeing this woman again brings a rush of feelings for Quill. He is glad to find that Lisa is still well maintained, indicating that she has been living a smooth life recently. However, he feels a bit sad because, based on how people refer to Lisa, she seems to have married and even have a child, and her face has aged significantly.
Quill and Lisa hugged for a moment, and then a teary-eyed Lisa looked at Quill and said, "I'm so glad, Peter, that you're still alive. After that incident, I thought you were dead."
"I'm really sorry, Lisa," Quill replied. "I shouldn't have been so impulsive back then. My youthful ignorance made you pay the price for me, but fortunately, there's still a chance to make up for it all. I heard you've run into some trouble, and I think I must be able to help."
"Don't talk about it, Peter, I've never blamed you. But I have indeed encountered some problems. If you could help, that would be great."
As the two reminisced, they moved to the office. Rocket Raccoon, pretending to be Quill's pet and not saying a word all the way, but Lisa instinctively noticed something different in his eyes. Just after entering the office, she turned her gaze to Rocket Raccoon's face.
