"Pietro! Haven't you figured it out yet? Erik is nothing but a stark mad lunatic!"
On a dark street, Wanda stormed away, shouting as her cloak billowed, "He's a born destroyer! Everything goes wrong for anyone who hangs around him!"
Finishing, she viciously kicked a roadside bollard, "We should never have put any hope in him! He ruins everything!"
"Wanda, calm down," Pietro, in his Quicksilver battlesuit, rushed to catch up with his sister, "It was indeed wrong for him to destroy our Christmas tree. But he's our father after all. It's no wonder he got angry when you insulted him in front of so many people..."
"I insulted him?!!" Wanda stopped in her tracks and looked at Pietro, raising her voice, "He destroyed in three seconds a Christmas tree that the professors and students had spent two weeks arranging for the dance! All I did was stand up for them, and you accuse me of insulting him?!!!"
"But, but he didn't do it on purpose…." Pietro sighed with a troubled face, "Okay, it's partly my fault. I should have intervened when Lorna was quarrelling with him. I shouldn't have let it escalate to a fight. The Christmas tree was just an innocent victim."
"Lorna is just like him!" Wanda started to march forward again, gritting her teeth, "That crazy girl is a spitting image of Erik! They never consider others' feelings. Whoever comes across them is really in for some bad luck!"
Pietro seemed a bit helpless as he assessed the dark surroundings, then said, "Running out like this, the other students and the professors will worry about you. Let's hurry back. It's just a Christmas tree. I will make a few extra runs tonight, gather the materials, and we can have a new one before Christmas Eve, right?"
"Pietro!!!!" Wanda stood still, her chest heaving, hysterically saying, "This has nothing to do with just a Christmas tree!! That lunatic father-daughter duo, they destroyed others' hard work, causing harm to everyone, without a shred of remorse!! They are monsters!!!"
Having said that, Wanda took a moment to catch her breath, lowered her head and murmured in a tone filled with anger and sadness, "And we are the children of monsters...."
"How can I face those younger students? They are so looking forward to Christmas. They like me so much, they even call me sister. You have never called me that!"
"That's because I was born just three seconds after you," muttered Pietro softly, but looking at Wanda's expression, he said, "All right, I understand that you like kids, and when you're with those young mutants, you smile a lot more."
"And for that very reason, you should understand that they will worry about you. Let's hurry back. We still have cookies to share with them."
Wanda just kept walking ahead, head down, murmuring to herself, "All of this is a mistake! We should never have gone to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters as teaching assistants. Then Erik wouldn't have brought disaster, and they could have had a peaceful Christmas ..."
"We should never have gotten involved in any of this, we should have returned to the jungle to live like our mother, like primitive witches, dealing with snakes and toads, that's our destiny!"
"Maybe we shouldn't have been born at all, all of this is a complete mistake! That man will never be a good father, he doesn't deserve children!"
As she was speaking, Wanda leaned against a light pole and slowly sank down. Clutching her red cloak, Pietro wrapped an arm around his sister, saying, "Don't say that, Wanda. The kids like us, and the professor praises us. As for Erik, didn't the professor say he's mentally ill? We should be more tolerant of him..."
"Sometimes, I don't know who's actually crazy." Wanda bit her lip, "I am the representative of Chaos Magic, but it seems like I'm the only villain in the whole world. Why are you all so tolerant? It makes me look nitpicky and emotional like a child..."
Pietro sighed, not knowing how to comfort his sister when he suddenly looked up and squinted at the other end of the dark street. Another figure was appearing, and with him the familiar oscillation of the magnetic field.
"Erik ..." Pietro called out his name, gritting his teeth. He tried to pull his sister away.
He knew that Wanda was currently in an extremely emotional state. If the two of them confronted each other like this, they were bound to clash and might even end up fighting.
Pietro had already grabbed Wanda's wrist, but she shook him off. He turned his head and saw Wanda's cloak start to flutter, her eyes glowing red, and she seemed to be a flame ignited by anger in the cold winter night.
Wanda slowly floated into the air, and when the powerful aura of Chaos Magic spread out, Pietro knew that things were about to get bad.
Certainly enough, in the next second, an equally powerful magnetic field appeared, restraining the entire space, making it impossible for Pietro to escape.
