Rawlins look on in horror, as he whispers, "Oh dear God, I can't believe I had slept through everything, I didn't know the storm was this bad."

Having to cross so many rubbles. "If only I had listened to the voice in my head and take the child home with me she would have been safe. Her safety was more important than keeping Mom and Dad secret."

Finally reaching the cottage noticing the tree had broken down the front door so no one can enter, "Dear Father and God, I really hope the child isn't hurt?"

Running towards the back seeing the water level was half the wall, but the yard was soak. and had weeds from the water. But the safety of the child was my priority.

Seeing the back door was broken as well, Rawlins hurried inside, seeing branches and leaves were scattered in the entire hall.

Glimpsing the dog asleep and Rufus had Courtney cuddled in his arm. Her face had blood, Rufus had some scrapes on his face, but his forehead had a deep gash and his ribs cage was blue.

"Oh God, I must get some help quickly, they need to see a doctor immediately."

Stooping down to wipe his face and to see how bad the wound was in his head and back, then hurried and hot some water and return with a towel and tend to his wounds.

When Rawlins rest the towel on Rufus rib cage, he heard him groan a few times. "Oh God, this is all my fault, I should have taken her home, what would I tell Mom and Dad now."

When Rufus whispers, "Then he would have come to destroy the house."

"Are you all right Son?"

"My back and head hurt terribly, but Courtney needs to see a doctor, when I came, I found her unconscious."

"Okay, you rest and I will get one of the men to go and get the doctor."

Opening his eyes hearing the power-saw start cutting, knowing the men were clearing away the tree that had broken down the door.

Feeling the soreness on his back, looking around, seeing no one was in sight.

Whispering in her ear, "Wake up my darling, don't let them take you to the doctor, or we will have to answer so many questions.

I know I keep asking so much from you, but please wake up." Nibbling her ear, "I love you," feeling a slap. "Go ahead and beat me, I don't care but I love you very much."

The place seems to become clearer as the branches were removed. Watching her sit up, when she close her eyes again.

'Dear God! 'Shifting slightly aside when Rufus ask, "Are you alright? I see you close your eyes."

'How can I tell him he is very handsome without his shirt on. Then he might provoke me,' when she asks, "What is going on?"

"Can you move?"

"Yes, I can move, I must have fainted, that's all." but as she stood up, "Why is my head paining so much?"

Sitting once more, "Can't you recalled how you hurt your head?"

"My head is hurt?" observing her hand reaches up and pass on the spot that was gash.

"Yes, you are hurt and has lost a lot of blood, when I came Joe was protecting you from that evil force."

Seeing her eyes open wide with fear, as he says, "That evil force leaves when I came and cover you with the blood of Jesus."

"It was here, oh God I could have been badly hurt, I know the wind was strong, so I took of the lantern, afraid that the breeze might blow it down and it could cause a fire.

I was going to light the gas lantern when I felt something push me and I fell, I must have hit my head and fainted."

"You lost a lot of blood, when I came your head and face was covered with blood. I wipe the blood but could not move you, my back got hurt."

"Let me see," turning slightly to check his back, "It seems as though you went through a storm? Look at cuts and bruises on your face and head, but how it is your hand didn't get any cuts?"

"It might have some bruises, my shirt and rain cloak save me."

"So how did you hurt your back?"

"A branch fell on me." Looking at how concern she was, it the first time we are really communicating with each other.

'Oh God it feels good, but I was expecting her to quarrel or shout at him. That was all we ever did since I brought her here.'

Rufus closes his eyes wondering, 'If she has forgiven him.'

"Rufus, what is wrong, are you having lots of pain?" Her concern causes him to open his eyes when she said, "I asked how did your back got hurt?"

"While coming to the cottage, a branch fell on my back, I could not see anything with the rain and wind so strong, and branches was flying from every directions, I didn't see it coming."

Her hand was gentle on his side but the pain was unbearable.

"Why did you have to come through the storm, you could have gotten badly hurt?"

"I didn't have any choice when I realized the evil force was behind this storm." Taking her hand in his, 'It wanted to hurt you so I had to come, Joe had kept him from hurting you.

It was only when I came and keep covering you with the blood of Jesus, it left and that was after four this morning."

"Then I thank you for coming to my rescue, now everyone will know that Pappie and Mom's is not home."

"No they won't, we could try and keep them home, but you know how curious Carlos can be at times, we have kept this from them thus far and with a little more effort we could conceal it from them a little bit longer?"
