63: Feast

Wade knew what his senior Mike was thinking, but he didn't clarify why he was so confident in making such a deal.

According to normally what would happen after Mike sends Wade request to his families higher-ups was that they would be first just as shocked as Mike was, but later they would start their background search on him.

After finding out that he had no other backing than Fred, they would agree and say that they were very pleased with Wade's choice in them and would agree to his deal, but that would just be a ruse.

He had seen many such things happen in his last world and now that he was in this magical world, he knew he had to be more careful.

According to his analysis, after Mike said his piece to the family they would start preparing a contract that would be more inclined to their benefits such as, instead of giving nearly 10% discount they would give him 10% less magic crystals or they might even tie him up directly under their family.

They would obviously not go for the second option in fear of angering his mentor but the first could still be done, as for when his mentor finds out.

There was a high chance that they would not let it happen, from what he had found out, it would take him 2 months to reach the subterranean city with the airship he was going to take.

So, according to this conjecture, when he reaches and is forced to sign the contract. It would later take him some time to find a way to send his mentor the letter for help which could take who knows how long and then later it would take 2 months for his mentor to even know and take action.

In that time the family would have literally made him work for them to his bone, and later to quell his Mentor's anger they would give him some small compensation and describe how sorry they were.

It's here where they were going to get their assess handed to them. From what he had come to know Mike's family was an intolerable bully who had done all such things mentioned above before, they had sometimes even given the apprentices in different fields even more tempting deals to make them relax, such as giving them up to 10% discount and because of this he had chosen them.

What Mike's family wouldn't know was that he was someone from the Guard team meaning, he was already setting a trap for them.

'I can't wait to see what kind of face those elders would make!' Wade though inwardly

"Ok then Mike. Talk to them and give me the answer before I leave" Wade said standing up and heading for the door.

"Ok, I will try my best to get you a good deal," Mike said.

After going out of Mike's room Wade went towards the dining room again to meet up with Freya as he had already decided to meet there yesterday.

After arriving he went towards the counter and placed an order as he had enough magic crystals for a good meal. Taking his order for two people the waiter of the place had him sat down on a reserved spot waiting for his food to arrive.

Before his food was ready Freya had already arrived at the dining hall and was looking around, after spotting Wade she went towards him without any hesitation.

Wade could see the smile that was always plastered on her face but through her eyes, he could see the dejection she feels from his going to the subterranean city as this would lead to her losing the comfortable life she was hoping for.

As she neared and was about to tell him about the results of his request Wade said, " Talk later, I have had them prepare the best dishes that could be eaten by those Rank 5 Apprentices normally.

This would help you not only in increasing your Constitution but also may help slightly with your Spirit, so eat first and let's have the business talk later"

Even though he knew that she didn't really like him and was just getting close to him for a good life he didn't mind, after all, wasn't he using her to fulfil his needs.

Still, as he had slept with her she could be considered his woman. For now, so giving her such a feast that could prove to be helpful was his way of reciprocating her feelings, if any.

It didn't take long for the dishes to arrive, two cakes, a beefsteak, two fruit juices, and the flesh of a Gyro bird, the total came up to 10 Magic Crystal a person and made others see Wade in a new light.

"I've heard that if the flesh of this bird is specially prepared, it is very beneficial for a Sage's meditation, so I must try it today!" Freya said.

Wade used a knife to slice off a part of the bird meat, picked the meat up with a fork, and placed it into his mouth. He instantly felt the fragrant flavour of the meat spread throughout his taste buds, and Wade's eyes lit up in wonderment.

Wade didn't pay too much attention to this notice, he had already come here and eaten this dish twice so he didn't feel too much surprise after seeing the notification.

After taking a large amount of Resonance potion his body had already reached the peak for what a Rank 3 Apprentice could do. For further experiments for his body enhancement, he had to reach the Rank 5 of Apprentice stage according to Abby's test results.

While he was eating he would glance at Freya from time to time to see that she was relishing the dishes, this put his mind at ease.
