42: Clone

"According to the knowledge that I have gained the power of a spell is determined by its lethality when judging based on the type of spell you are casting.

Basic attack type spells like fireball have around 4 to 5 lethality, while supporting spells like shadow clone which can be used for scouting, escaping and other purposes should have around 2 to 3 lethality.

They can further be characterized as from low to peak but that is only till one reaches the 4th rank. Now let's check how much lethality my spells can have" Wade considered.

"Abby shows the measurement based on this basis," Wade said.

[Analysis is done, a new order in process!] Abby's voice sounded.

"Abby, transmit the 2 spell models over!" After this period of continuous research, Abby had already analysed the 2 spells completely.

The last step was to transmit the information to Wade's conscious which would then enable him to grasp these two Rank 0 spells immediately.

[Beep! Transmitting in progress!] With Abby replying, Wase felt a lot of content regarding the techniques and procedures of casting these 2 spells surfacing in his mind.

Every step felt extremely familiar. It was as if he had been personally practising these spells countless of times before.

"Bring out the data of these 2 Rank 0 spells!" Wade commanded.

"Fireball: Rank 0 spell. Casting time: 2.5 seconds. Effective distance: 10 Metres. Consumption: 2 Spirit, 2 Mana points"

"Shadow Clone: Rank 0 spell. Casting time: 2 seconds. Effective control range: 100 Metres. Consumption: 2 Spirit, 2 Mana points"

[Mana is the amount of energy particles that are stored within the body. It is limited by the upper limits of the Spirit!] Abby implied.

To cast a spell, one does not only need to use their Spirit or the Mental force as a primer but must also understand that the Mana within their body will be consumed as well.

Wade suppressed his excited emotions, "Abby, Record in detail my spell casting process !"

"Fireball!" Wade said in Maish language.

With the Maish language's incantation sounding from Wade, a ball of yellow colour fire suddenly appeared at the upper area of his right hand.

"Go!" Wade flung the flaming ball in his hand and the ball streaked across in an arc, landing on a target wearing leather armour around 9 meters away from him.

After a few seconds, the human target had been fully charred, leaving only some dregs behind.

"Abby, assess the lethality!"

[Beep! Lethality: 5]

Wade turned to look at the screen at the right which was where the assessment for the spells was shown. At this moment, the words on the screen changed and a new record was shown.

"Classification: Magical Flaming Attack. Lethality: 5. Damage to target: High."

"En! It seems like Abby has estimated right values so I won't need to come here in future. I should be able to estimate the lethality of my spells with Abby's help." Wade nodded his head and begin experimenting with another spell.

"Shadow Clone!"

Following Wade's incantation, a black coloured figure suddenly appeared under the shade of the target which wore steel armour.

It grabbed the target's throat forcefully from behind and then with a crashing sound, the target's head fell onto the ground.

"Classification: Physical Attack. Lethality: 4. Damage to target: Mid."

Seeing the evaluation on the screen, Wade was shocked beyond belief. According to the typical process of a spell such as the shadow clone having a lethality of even 3 points can be considered as lucky. But he had gotten a value of 4 directly, there could only be one reason why this was happening and that was that he had his innate gift for clone.

Right now he really wanted to test whether the results that had happened were by fluke it were they true. But he had only 4 mana points, and as he had just used two spells his mana storage should be at zero.

But he still wanted to try, he still had 2 hours and more in the room he could just wait.

"Abby show my current status" wade commanded.

[Beep! Wade, Rank 2 Apprentice. Strength: 1.7, Agility: 1.6, Vitality: 2.4, Spirit: 4.3, Mana: 1(4) - Magical Power is in synchronisation with Spirit. Status: Healthy]

Seeing his status Wade was again given a huge shock. According to Abby's analysis, the two spells should have drained him of his mana but he still had 1 point of an remaining.

"Abby bring out the record of mana consumed just now" Wade ordered.

[Spell: Fireball, Mana consumed: 2]

[Spell: Shadow Clone, Mana consumed: 1]

Looking at the results he knew that his hunch was right. His innate talent not only increased the lethality of this spell but also decreased the consumption of the mana.

Now he had one more test which he wanted to do. If it was a success he would be able to have a very powerful trump card in the future. Without any further hesitation, he brought out another clone.

"Shadow Clone!"

Following Wade's incantation, a black coloured figure again came from the shadows of the target. It again followed Wade's instructions and hit the target.

"Classification: Physical Attack. Lethality: 4. Damage to target: Mid."

The screen showed the same results which helped him clear two doubts the one about consumption of mana and the second about the lethality.

Next, he made it go as far as possible and had Abby measure the distance. After a few seconds when Wade felt that going any further would make him lose control over the clone he made it stop and had Abby measure the distance.

[Distance: 100 meters]

"So, it doesn't have an increased reconnaissance area. Also I can tell that it can only stay for a minute more meaning its duration of existence has also remained the same." Wade concluded.
