Chapter 81

In the Royal capital, Viere, the people were all busy about with their daily lives. Knights could be seen walking around in squads and the people move out of their way in fear. The people glared at the knights as they pass by.

In the urban street inhibited by the poorer people, three boys in dark hoods ran on the dusty road straight towards a ramshackled house. They pushed the old wooden door and slipped in quietly.

The house looked broken down on the outside with its severe unrepaired state, but the inside was different. It looked like the interior of a noble house with all its decors and tapestries in perfect condition. There were no chandelier though, just some orbs that glowed dimly, lighting up the inside of the house.

The three boys took off their hoods and hung them on the coat hanger beside the door. One of them suddenly sneezed loudly which broke the silence inside.

"Did you catch a cold Yan?" A silver haired boy turned towards the one who sneezed. His light brown eyes with specks of gray showing no concern at all.

"No." Answered the boy who sneezed, his curly hair looking like a birds nest. "Thank you for your concern Lix."

"I am not." The silver haired boy replied coldly. "I just don't want to worry mother if you infect me with it."

The other boy chuckled behind them. He had blond hair and graying blue eyes that seems to glow under the dim lights.

"We should go see master now." He put his arms around the two and pushed them forward with him.

They went to the sitting room and bowed before an old man. The old man had half of his face burnt, no hair, and he was missing an arm. He was sitting on an armchair, stroking a sleeping cat on his lap.

"You boys are here again?" He turned towards the boys.

"Mater." The all greeted.

"How many times do I have to tell you that I am not your master?" The old man rigidly. "I am just an old man trying to live the rest of my life in peace."

"Oh come on master!" The curly haired boy beamed at him. "Aren't you happy to be acknowledged as the master of three handsome geniuses?"

The blond haired boy smacked him in the head.

"Sorry master. Yan is stupid and does not know when to open his mouth."

"Hey!" Yan yelled, feeling wronged.

"Shut up Yan." The silver haired boy spoke to him coldly before looking up to the old man. "Master, we came here to learn about ability control."

The old man looked at the boys and sighed.

"There are numerous teachers across the kingdom, geniuses smarter than anyone and being more powerful than you can imagine. Why do you choose to come to me to learn?" The old man said tiredly.

"You are all that, master." The silver haired boy answered in a beat. "Those teachers and geniuses all look up to you. Those powerful beings look for you to test their strength, you are far above them."

"We want to learn from the best, and you are the best." The blond haired boy added.

"You are not just mere little boys who have no choice in learning, you are young masters of noble houses." The old man answered.

He pointed at the curly haired boy. "Prince Adrian of House Brouette, sixth in line to the throne." Yan smiled toothily, not keeping his identity a secret.

He looked at blond haired boy, "Schyler Rutchel, first son of the Rutchel viscount house." Schyler or better known as Sky smiled and shrugged.

The old man turned and looked at the silver haired boy whose gaze was firmly fixed at him. "Felix Salvatore, the only son of Duke Salvatore and the second of only two poison ability users in the entire kingdom." Felix's gaze never left him, not caring about what the old man said.

"You three are not lacking in anything, even resources to train." The old man shook his head. "Yet you come here and harass this old man every day to train you. How annoying."

"You don't seem annoyed though? You even look amused every time you train us." Yan pointed out.

"I am annoyed." The old man threw Yan a glare. "I just can't do anything if you boys kick up a fuss. I don't want you to wake little Lily up."

The old man stroked the cat more lovingly as if it was a baby.

"Then you will train us today too right?" Yan beamed. "Because who knows how loud we three would cry if you don't."

The old man looked at the three boys with different attitudes and wondered how they all get along, especially the noisy prince and the quiet poison user.

"Haaaa.." He sighed and put the cat down on its bed. "I'll only train you because you are black mailing me."

The three boys beamed with their victory and followed the old man to the training room.
