Chapter 34

Athy was still facing away from us. Uriel and I tried calling her while doing our best to break her barrier. Sebastiene and Anderson were also helping us.

"What is this barrier made of?!" Uriel slammed her little fist against the barrier. "Why is she like this sis?"

I shrugged and looked at Anderson. "What happened? I thought she was only going to take a stroll?"

"She did take a stroll, my lady." Anderson answered me nervously. "She took a stroll in the underworld and dragged Lord Opal's spirit from there. Now, she has been releasing her anger on his spirit since she came back."

Opal?

"Wait," Uriel raised her little hand. "You mean she is currently beating the crap out of our uncle's spirit?"

"Y-yes,my lady." Anderson nodded.

"Why?" She asked.

Anderson looked at me and so did Uriel.

"What is happening sis?" She asked annoyed now.

"We only had a little talk with Haktor." I replied defensively.

"A little?" She narrowed her eyes at me.

I raised my hands in defeat and told her everything Haktor had said. She listened intently without interrupting me.

When I finished retelling everything, Uriel merely hmped and stared at Athy again.

"There's something that changed in her." She said as she put her hand against the barrier. "Do you feel it too sis?"

I closed my eyes and nodded without looking at her. Of course I noticed it. She became quieter, easily annoyed and seems to be always tired. I didn't mind it too much as she would always say she's okay when I ask her. Anderson would also say that she is doing well and nothing out of the ordinary happens when I check on her. Now I regret not giving it more attention.

Tsk.

"Good evening everyone!" A voice from above startled all of us. We look up to see a shadow floating above us.

I was caught off guard. I did not even feel any presence until it spoke. I can tell that even the others were caught off guard by it. We all went into an offensive position.

"Yooooow. It's me baby girls." The shadow floated closer. It's golden eyes shone in contrast of the pitch black body.

Sebastiene suddenly dropped on his knees.

"Lord Sidapa."

Sidapa?

Anderson also kneeled when he heard what Sebastiene called the shadow.

"The god of death, Sidapa?" I asked relaxing from my offensive stand.

"Yep, I'm that Sidapa." The shadow replied with an amused tone.

"What are you doing here?" I asked before pointing at his shadow-like body. "In that?"

"I am not summoned so I can only use my shadow to come up." He replied before turning his head to look at Athy too. "Most importantly, is my vessel not done yet?"

"What do you mean?" Uriel asked stepping closer to me.

"She is releasing her anger on that spirit. Thrashing him like that will have an impact on her, you know." He said.

"What?!" Uriel and I shouted in sync.

"Oh? Didn't you know that she cannot hurt anyone without any reason?" His amused voice rang again.

Uriel and I looked at each other before we both shook our heads. Athy never mentioned this before.

"Well, she can't hurt anyone or any living thing without reason. If she did, she will suffer a heavy recoil from it." Sidapa explained.

"What kind of recoil?" I asked.

"Hmmm? Why should I tell you?" He said looking down at me with his golden eyes.

"You-" I wanted to punch him but I doubt I actually could so I stopped myself.

"Kekeke. I'm just messing with you little girl." Sidapa looked at me. I can actually see him smiling because of the eyes.

Asshole.

"It depends honestly. She knows she is not allowed to hurt any living thing or any spirits without reason." He raised his index finger. "Yet she still did"

What?!

"Athy!" Uriel suddenly screamed making me turn my head.

Athy was now holding Heyva Sor and hacking the spirit violently.

Gods! She must be really mad!

"Move away little girl." Sidapa said as he touched the barrier.

The moment his hand reached it, the barrier started to get sucked into the shadow until it all disappeared.

Uriel and I ran to Athy and stopped her from hacking the spirit more. Whatever was left of the spirit, that is.

Athy was panting and sweating a lot. Her eyes were mad and unfocused like a crazy person.

I held her hand that was holding the Heyva Sor while Uriel was holding her shoulders.

"Athy!" Uriel shook her.

Athy's eyes remained unfocused.

"Sis.." Uriel looked at me worriedly.

"Do it." I urged her.

Uriel took in a deep breath and raised her right hand.

SLAP!

A resounding slap hit Athy's cute little face. Sebastiene and Anderson, who just came, were both stunned by it. They paused for a while before slowly continuing to approach us.

After the slap, Athy's eyes slowly became focused.

"Athy.." Uriel called her.

Athy turned her head to look at me, and then back to Uriel before blinking a few times.

"Elder sister." Athy spoke.

"Are you okay? How are you feeling?" Uriel asked checking her face.

"Hmmm.. Tired." Athy was only able to say it before she fell unconscious in our arms.

"Anderson!" I called and Anderson hurriedly came to our side and too Athy in his arm. "Bring her back to her room. Let Uriel take care of her inside and guard her door. Do not let anyone in."

"What if the Archduke or the Archduchess wishes to see her my lady?" Anderson asked.

I looked at Uriel. "Sis, tell him what to do."

"What about you?" Uriel asked.

"I'll be there soon." I replied and looked behind me. "I will take care of this first."

Anderson was immediately carried Athy back to her room with Uriel following them.

I looked at Sidapa who was calmly floating above us.

"Oi.. Sidapa." He floated towards me. "What will happen to Athy now?"

"She will feel the recoil soon." He picked up Heyva Sor and it slowly disappearef before he looked towards where Anderson and Uriel disappeared to. "This is a warning little girl. The power of death is stronger than that of life. Never let your sister be eaten by her emotions. If she uses the power of death and darkness too much, she might awaken a darkness worse than me."

He then went and picked up what I suppose is the spirit of Opal, now a pile of goo.

"What do you mean?" I frowned.

"You should ask your little butler for more information." He said as he wiggled the goo around. "I better bring this back to the underworld."

"What? Wait you-" I couldn't finish what I was saying because the shadow and the goo disappeared.
