Chapter 151

A week had gone by without any problems for our family. The people from other races that were rescued from Karciel's auction had returned safely to their clans and tribes. The prisoners Milia rescued had almost fully recovered, thanks to Elaheh's efforts. The guards who took the incomplete strengthening pills were slowly regaining their health, though their physical bodies were still old, at least they were not suffering as much as before, still thanks to Elaheh's efforts.

The wild beasts were returned to their packs and herds except for the three that were unable to go back and a little beagle whom we are waiting to be claimed. The treant seedling was brought back to the forest by the blond elf, Mido, who said that his tribe is able to look after it. The dragon egg was being kept by my father in the main hall where it was laid in top of a nest made of gold. Father had a goldsmith make it in a hurry and paid thrice the original amount. He was so happy to have a real dragon's egg, even though Sebastiene had explained that it would take hundreds to thousands of years before it actually hatches.

I could still remember the day my father burst into my study.

"Ate!" He called me with the endearment he used for me in our old language which means older sister. He looked excited as he dashed to me with Ragnar Ajax behind him. "I heard you have a dragon's egg? Can I see it?"

I rolled my eyes at him and sighed with a smile. I already knew he would come find me when he learned about it.

"Seb." I turned to look at my butler who was standing beside my desk. "Take out the egg and let father take a look at it."

"Yes my lady." Sebastiene bowed before moving to the couch and taking the egg from his space and placed it on the coffee table. "This is the dragon egg we have confiscated from the illegal auction, you grace."

Father stared at the rock-like egg with amazement.

"Is the dragon inside still alive?" He asked Sebastiene.

"Yes, your grace." Sebastiene answered politely. "The embryo inside still have its heartbeat which means that it is still alive."

Father glanced at Sebastiene with amazement.

"I want it." He suddenly announced taking us by surprise.

"Can I have it?" Father turned to me.

"I don't mind." I answered. "But don't expect too much from it, Seb said that it will take a long time before it hatches."

Father looked at Sebastiene and asked, "How long?"

"A dragon's egg takes hundreds to thousands of years before it hatches, your grace." Sebastiene answered with a polite smile.

"Okay." Father nodded and turned to me again. "I'm taking it."

"Where are you going to put it?" I asked him. "What are you even going to do with it?"

"I'll find something." He answered excitedly. "I'm keeping it. Since you gave your mother a pretty pet, I want this."

"Okay." I shrugged indifferently. "Do as you please. Just take good care of it."

And that is how father owned the egg and is keeping it in a golden nest in the main hall now.

The little baby snow fox was now being trained by Athy. It was actually funny. When Sebastiene brought the little fox to Athy and explained to her about its situation, mother was there with her and took a liking at the baby fox. The little fox who was in Sebastiene's arms looked so pitiful that mother tried to feed it with a ham from her sandwich. The white fox warily opened its mouth and let mother feed it. Boom! Now it never left mother's side unless it was time for its training with Athy. Mother named him Frost, something that connected him to ice and snow. It only took one slice of ham for it to be tamed by our mother.

As for the beagle, Miss Bloom said that the owner would definitely come to claim it and we should just wait for him. Vince Wicke, the strongest mercenary. The little beagle now stays with my mother too and is the playmate of the snow wolf. The employees are very fond of the two tiny animals who follow mother around the castle. Sometimes, I would see the aids secretly give them treats and belly rubs.

Today, inside the drawing room, siting right across me, is the strongest mercenary known. He was wearing a black shirtdress under a black leather coat, black leather pants and black leather boots. His black cowboy hat was placed beside him on the couch. He had long black hair that curled at the ends and a stubble on his face, like he did not shave for some time. He had an imposing air around him. He was staring straight at me as Sebastiene served us tea.

"How may I help you sir?" I deliberately asked him as I picked up my cup and slowly raised it to my lips.

"I heard you have my dog." He answered without taking his eyes off me. His voice not arrogant but also not courteous.
