'So how's the food?' i quickly texted trying to cover up the question I asked earlier.

'just ordered it, so IDK, phoebe says its good.' phoebe, so that girl's name is phoebe! 'also, why did you wanna know if my coworker is a girl?'

I took a deep breath, I had to come up with an excuse quick 'i don't know, I just randomly asked.'

'ahh alright, if you are jealous or something you can come here to kiss me and assert your possession.' my eyebrow twitched reading that. I sighed, what could I have expected.

'enjoy your dinner then.' i decided to end the convo

'you too.'

And a few seconds later, "yup that was my adorable girlfriend!" I could only hear Adam, the girl's voice was so muffled and low that it was hard to make out what she spoke.

Chole and I both planted our ears to the wall, trying to listen in on the convo while eating our steak obviously, and it was indeed very good.

"so, spend the night together with me." it was still low even after sticking our ears to the wall but still audible. the others at our table were confused but we just shushed them and they had no choice but to continue eating.

"Did she just ask Adam to spend the night together with her!?" Chloe whispered to me and I could just nod, I wanted to go in there and just slap that bitch to let her know that adam was mine, but I decided against it since I wanted to hear what Adam says.

"you know I have a girlfriend, and I stopped spending my nights with you because you practically beg for more rounds!"

Wait, didn't adam say he was a virgin, does that mean he was lying? no way, 'beg for more rounds' how many times did they do it? were they a thing sometime back? is he on dinner with his ex or some kind of friend with benefits no, a coworker with benefits pretty sure she is his subordinate, maybe she seduced him to rise in ranks!

Yea that must be the case, my innocent adam would never cheat, but then why did he lie to me about being a virgin!

I wanted to ask him about it right there but I decided to just stay quiet so I could uncover more secrets.

"fine! have you tested your girlfriend, is she any good?."

"yea, she just needs a bit more experience."

What did that mean? tested me!? has Adam been playing me all along? no, impossible!

Chloe was probably able to see my face, on the verge of tears, so she held my hand firmly and nodded as if saying, it's gonna be fine.

I wiped my tears, yeah I know adam, he can't do that, why was I worried in the first place. that's how I tried to console myself but the betrayal from Ian, still made me suspicious and I couldn't clear all my doubts.

"you can invite her too then."

"Alright, then I look forward to tonight!" adam said in a cheerful voice.

Invite her too? did she want to have a threesome!? and why did adam agree so readily, what the hell is going on !?

Suddenly my phone rang, pulling me out of the mental debate. it was a pretty unique ringtone so it didn't take too long for adam to be standing right outside our room.

"Cait?" he asked with his eyebrows raised he probably then looked at my face with tears. "eh, what's wrong?" he quickly ran next to me.

"What happened!? are you alright?" I was still processing everything so I couldn't respond, but I was sure that adam had betrayed me, he wanted me to have a threesome!? what did he think I was!? did I trust the wrong guy again? was I wrong again?

I was angry and sad at the same time. tears still rolled down my face.

"Caitlin! " adam yelled, he probably was confused as to why I was practically ignoring him while crying.

"you are a jerk!" Chloe punched adam while yelling. "we heard everything!"

Adam tilted his head in confusion "so- uhh- what does me inviting Cait for Kmash Bros night has to do with her crying?"

"Kmash Bros?" Chloe and I said at the same time while looking at adam with a confused face.
