351 SS3 08: The Escape to Narnia

When Eve got inside the car, a surge of panic squeezed her chest. The reception was far from over. There were still things to do such as the bouquet toss, the games, the garter—which she didn't mind missing—and more. Although most of the guests might not mind an early, handful of people would and they had the ability to make her guilty about it.

But, when the building faded away and they drove out of Maize City, those fears melted away.

Eve eventually figured out that it must be because she had left her phone so no one was calling or messaging her about the party. At least, she didn't receive any of them.

She peeled her eyes off the window and peeked at her husband.

Unlike her, Ambryan seemed calm. It was hard to tell if the serene expression was genuine or for show. His gaze stayed on the road but his relaxed posture implied how familiar he was about these roads. It had to be somewhere he had gone before.

A secret hiding place, perhaps?
