The story was still in its testing point back then, so it is inevitable... But right now, I think it's worth reading starting at the third arc, the MC is still not the best but is now clearly showing some development. ;)]

Chapter 3: Building Foundations [1]

BANGBANG!

Sounds of gunshots echoed in the place.

Me, who stood right where they shot at was... scared for a moment. Only for a brief moment though. That's it.

I mean, as soon as I stepped out of the portal I created, I landed here without even a few seconds had passed and someone already tried to kill me.

Who wouldn't be surprised you know? Especially if you don't know where you got yourself into. The portal I made just brought me to some random place which I don't know about. Still, I didn't expect to receive such cold welcome.

Luckily, the shots missed... or rather blocked by some sort of barrier when I lifted my hands when they shot me.

Quickly regaining my composure, I then glared to the ones that shot at me.

Looking at them, they look like thugs? Are they a gang perhaps.

"...curse my luck. No? This... could be good I guess...?"

As I observed them keenly, almost all of them were shivering in fear and shock, some of them were even shitting their pants.

Disgusting.

Nevermind that. Ugh.

"W-who are you...?!!" One of them nervously shouted. Following the others, they spouted something too.

At first I wondered why they were acting like that, I then realized that I suddenly came out of nowhere and intruded in this place.

Nevermind that. There should be things that should be better left alone, right?

Looking straight back at them, my gaze unconsciously dropped to the things behind them.

Guns, bullet magazines, numerous crates, bags, packs of money lated all over a certain table, and even sachets and plastic bags filled with white powder.

'Are they some kind of crime syndicate or gang here or something? No, judging from there attires, they resemble thugs even better'

Literally, this kinds of things(thugs, syndicates, etc.) weren't mentioned nor showed in the anime and novel but there are no clear evidence that they didn't exist.

It was then, after looking at one of the corners of the room, I can see dead bodies here.

My eyes widened in surprise. It was a woman holding a child with gunshots all over their body. Another one was a teenager with a battered body which probably died in gunshots as well.

And surprisingly.... I didn't really feel anything much at all when I saw them. It was as if it was just... normal.

Scratch it, I certainly felt something but it is something... foreign yet familiar. Probably just one of the little things I felt about in my previous life.

I then shifted my eyes at the thugs who were shuddering in fear. I guess... 'taking care' of then wouldn't be so bad heh.

'I guess I landed a jackpot this early on.'

My face unconsciously formed grin and the thugs who saw it shuddered in fear and took a step back.

Landing my eyes to whom I presume to be the leader, I then tried to ask him about what happened, I need some clear understanding about what happened here after all.

Taking a step forward to where the thug leader was, I asked as sounding innocently as possible.

"Haha. Hey, did you kill those guys?"

I gave an innocent smile to wards him, yes an innocent smile (evil smirk) just like an infant's (madman's). Expecting some good news, on contrary, the results were abysmal though...

"Y- you..!"

The thug looked frightened then tried to fire his gun once more only to be prevented when I "crumpled" his hand into a mush of flesh.

'Was my innocent smile that scary?' I can't help but ponder as it somehow hurt my feelings.

Heaving a sigh, I dropped the act and then spoke to the thug.

"Controlling [Space] for now sure is scary and very... unstable huh. To think I could crumple your hand that easily. How funny" I said with a smirk of ridicule towards the thug who fell on his butt.

"Ahh... AHHH AHH!! MY HAND! EEAAAHHHHH!!!" As if realizing that his hand was already crumpled into a mush of flesh a few seconds later, he began screaming or rather, screeching which was very disturbing even in my ears.

"Yeah, shut up. I'm the one doing the talking here" I said as I gestured my hand in the air.

Suddenly, the thug then noticed that his body was levitating. In the next moment, he was thrown and then crashed through the wall in the corner and passed out.

The other thugs or his lackies just stood their frozen not being able to comprehend what was just happening right in front of their eyes.

"...He didn't die, didn't he?"

I muttered in worry. I can't let him die until I know what shit happened here after all.

As I was about to check the thug leader out, his underlings then began to take action.

"T-the boss is dead!"

"WAH! SHOOT HIM!! SHOOT!!"

"AVENGE THE BOSS!!"

"R-RUN..!!"

Chaos erupted in the place as the thugs took different approaches regarding the sudden happening of events. Who would've known that a Spirit would appear before them when they were infiltrating some rich mansion in the outskirts of the city.

Surely, not a single soul would've predicted that.

"Erm, he is not dead, okay? Can someone just answer my questi—" I tried to justify myself that I didn't kill the thug leader only to be interrupted by loud screams and shouts.

"MONSTER!!"

"KILL HIM!!"

Somehow, I felt that one of my veins suddenly popped out on my head.

"At least don't interrupt me when I'm speaking damn it!!" I roared at the individuals who did that but they didn't seem to care.

BANG!! BANG!! BANG!!

A volley of gunshots then dawned right before at almost every direction.

Following my instincts, I then subconsciously created a barrier which blocked all of the bullets that were shot at me. Exactly a second after, the shard-looking pillars then shot a ray of beams right at the thugs.

'What?! These things are cannons?!' I internally exclaimed in surprise as I turned my eyes towards these floating shard-looking pillars around me.

A moment later, I put my attention to those who were shot by that beam of mine and the result—nothing was left out of them. Only some splats of blood.

"Oh my. Uh, I didn't mean to kill them but what's done is done I guess..."

Not all of the thugs were killed by that unexpected attack, well, all thugs in the room had vanished into nothingness. What I mean not all of them had been killed was because two of them managed to get out of the room.

"Should I let them go...?" I muttered hesitating about what I should do.

After contemplating for a brief moment, I made my decision. Letting them go is a stupid move... which would cause problems in the near future. Yes, definitely. That's why...

"Also, if they kill, they should be prepared to be killed as well, right?"

Glancing at the shard shaped cannons beside me, I could somewhat feel that they have their own egos or something. I have no definitive proof to back it up but... it's just an assumption. If it doesn't work, then I'll do it myself.

Trusting that assumption of mine, I then spoke, "Kill all those who escaped from here. Try to be as inconspicuous as possible" I said.

Though I want to ridicule myself for talking to an object, before I could do that, what happened next was.....

'The cannons seemingly nodded...? Wait, what?!'

It's a surprise to be honest.

At the next second the cannons warped space on its own and disappeared from the room coming back right after a few seconds.

"Done? How fast... It seems that they haven't gone far from this place to be killed this swiftly...." I paused as I finally understood for a brief moment as for why they were eliminated immediately.

Glancing at the sharp pointed area of the floating cannon which still exudes some heat and smoke, I sighed.

"Scratch it. No matter how far they were is irrelevant if your enemy can just manipulate [Space] and ignore the concept of distance and time..."

I then walked through the open door where the thugs escaped from, what greeted me was a stairs leading straight up. Following the path, I arrived yet again in an open door which finally led to some hallway filled with furnitures. I then walked around the house... no, this could be called a mansion on how big this structure is.

Ignoring the countless doors that could be found while roaming around the place, I then found myself in the patio located inside the house as for which the door was blasted open making me able to see the view outside.
