Petrified

The fear alone that exuded from her body was so much that Shiro for a second thought she was going to collapse out of fear. They ran towards the roof immediately with Selena trailing behind. He was not going to save anybody now, at least each and every one of them had at least learned something from what had happened to Klaus. Selena was behind them as she ran the slowest. Klaus winced and gritted his teeth in pain as he ran.

He was covering the part of his arm where he had been bitten. He was covering it to prevent the air from getting inside it. He had to knock off many more of these disgusting creatures as they ran up the stairs. They were gradually nearing the roof. Once they got there they would look around for help. Selena wouldn't stop sobbing even after Shiro had warned her to stop.

"We will hide ourselves up there until help arrives . The astronomy observatory is there." He said as he ran farther. He remembered that after the constructions, they had also had the idea of building an observatory there. They ran as fast as their legs could carry them and finally got to the rooftop. They observed the smoke coming in from the classrooms. There must have been an electricity default and something must have sparked the wires, causing a fire outbreak.

"Everywhere is burning" Shiro stopped dead in his tracks as he looked down. He saw one of these monsters burning and despite the fact that it was burning, it still went towards a girl who had been captured to join the rest and eat her. She was slowly dying as she got eaten. There was nothing she could do now other than watch herself being eaten. At least that was pretty much better. If she didn't survive and hide in a place that would keep her safe, it was better that she died instead of becoming one of them.

He knew that she would surely turn to one of them if she had only been bitten but since she was being eaten that way, she would surely die before it was even over. But he wondered about the type of excruciating pain that she was going through at the moment. "What the -'' Selena said, grimacing when she saw what was happening to the girl. This was simply macabre, human beings massacring themselves without even knowing that. There should be seemingly no cure to this ,she thought before turning around.

To think that the world would become like this in the twinkle of an eye was what baffled her the most. To think that Shiro was telling them the truth was also something that gave her the creeps. If not because of him they would have all been dead. If he had gone on to save himself, they would have all died. Right now she was even grateful for the slap that he had given her back then.

If he had not done that, they wouldn't have thought that he was serious but she promised that she would kill if he had been lying to them back then. She remembered how embarrassing it felt to be addressed in front of the class that way. And how she had wished the ground would open and swallow her. The shame was totally something else that she didn't accept in any way.

"What the hell is going on?" Klays murmured as he tried to cover his wound which made his veins twitch. He was deep in pain but he gritted his teeth to keep it away. He did not want to be called a cry baby. This time he let his ego fool him again and that was what made his death even quicker and even more painful to his two friends.

They thought that he had gotten better and that the wound wouldn't affect him since it was just a small bite. Shiro was happy when he lasted more than ten minutes carrying the wound. The gym teacher had only lasted two minutes before he turned into that monster. So with that he thought everything was now OK.

"Everything was normal until a while ago." Klaus said as he knelt down, his head bowed down. Deep down he knew that he was in big danger, he was going to die soon. He was disappointed in himself, he never knew that this was going to happen. He never saw it coming. That was when they heard the sound of a helicopter whirring in the distance. Shiro ran towards the direction and started to wave towards them. His heart lit immediately as he thought that they were going to be saved. But they didn't seem to be going to stop.

The helicopters soon got to them, hovered around the air for some seconds. Shuro continued to wave frantically but they didn't seem to be going to stop and the thought that they would be stuck here until the evening, terrified him. He could not imagine being here with the others till nightfall.

"FBI? Klaus asked as he began to straighten up.

"The US army?" Selena asked again but Shiro, who had caught sight of the initial on the helicopter, told them that it was the SDF.

"No, that's our SDF." He said and turned around towards them. He couldn't believe that they would do what they had done. That meant that they were going to be here until nightfall. He shuddered at the thought alone.

At the moment they were quite hopeless and did not know what to do. The only source of help they had seen had disappeared from them and they were not going to see one in a while. They only hoped that they would come back and help them out. But for now, they had to survive because the world had gotten into a very big mess. Klaus was still nursing his arm and Selena had gone to help him. She helped fan the angry wound while reassuring him that everything was going tobe alright.
