Jin held his breath, terrified as he watched his grandfather Adrian collapse under the chaos leader's attack.
The creature's red eyes glimmered as its claws slowly tore into Adrian's entrails, savoring the moment.
Adrian's blood splattered on the ground as he staggered backward, "R- run..." he directed his gaze towards Jin before collapsing.
He coughed violently, blood flowing from his mouth, his desperate eyes fixed on his grandson who now seemed like an easy prey.
Jin fell to his knees, paralyzed by helplessness as the creature extended its claws towards him. "No, no, nooo, Grandpa!"
Resigned to his fate, he braced himself for a near end, staring at the creature before him.
But suddenly, Adrian began laughing hysterically. "Hahahahahahaha!"
Adrian's laughter was weak but mocking. "Ha ha, you ugly creature , your end is truly near."
Jin's eyes widened in shock as he turned to his grandfather. "Grandpa?"
At that moment, someone appeared beside Jin, lifting his leg to kick the creature's head with a force that made it fly backward at an astonishing speed.
The creature's black blood flew through the air as it crashed into the trees with a thunderous sound, leaving behind a trail of destruction from the force of the kick!
"You don't look well at all, Adrian..."
The man who kicked the creature was tall and muscular with blond hair, wearing casual summer clothes, his hands in his pockets, seemingly indifferent to the creature he had just thrown away.
Then a girl appeared in front of Jin, breathtakingly beautiful, with flawless, smooth skin and long black hair cascading down her back. Her black eyes, cold and intimidating, were both terrifying and beautiful.
She wore a stylish black suit and carried a long purple scythe as she looked at the creature beginning to rise to its feet.
"Ugh, how ugly."
"Haha, yes, indeed. Anyway, you deal with that thing; I'll attend to that old man." He then headed towards Adrian.
Adrian managed a weak smile as he coughed blood. "Park, you scoundrel, you're as late as ever."
Park smiled and said, "We'll finish this quickly. Just hang on and don't die."
Adrian coughed and laughed weakly. "You know very well that there's no more time for me."
Park sighed. "Alright, but hang on a bit to bid farewell to that poor boy." He then pointed his finger back at Jin.
The creature stood on its feet and charged towards Park.
"What a pathetic beast," Park said disdainfully.
He stood firmly, indifferent to the creature's rage, looking at it with contempt. "You'd better see what's behind you, you ugly thing."
The girl stood behind the creature, holding her scythe, and with one swift swing, "swish!" she cleaved the hideous creature in half.
The creature's upper half was blown into the air, its grotesque expression turning into a severe and grim frown.
The chaos leader tried to regenerate his body but couldn't...
At that moment, Park quickly moved towards the creature's lower body. "Hello, you ugly thing."
He kicked the lower half with such force that it turned into scattered debris and a spray of blood.
The creature's upper half fell to the ground, shivering and glaring angrily at the two.
Some of its limbs began to regenerate from its stomach, but... the girl stomped on it with the heel of her shoe, turning the remnants of the creature into another pool of blood.
Everything ended so quickly that Jin was left in complete shock, unable to comprehend what had just happened before him!
"Eww, I'm covered in blood," the girl said as she pulled out a handkerchief from her pocket and began wiping the blood from her hair.
As Park approached Adrian, shaking the blood off his clothes, he said, "What a filthy and disgusting creature."
He knelt to face Adrian, who was on the brink of death, and said, "Yoo, you're going to die soon, old man."
Adrian weakly laughed. "You really are a shameless boy."
He coughed violently before adding, "It seems I don't have much time left, so listen carefully."
Park sighed and leaned closer to Adrian to listen.
"Help that poor boy and make sure he gets into Lucaria. That is my last wish."
Park looked at Adrian with pity. "I might not be able to do that. You know how hard it is to get someone into that academy, especially right now."
Adrian laughed again. "Don't worry about that. Just tell the head of the academy that he's from the Yoshta."
Park sighed deeply and then called out loudly, "Lamar, bring that boy here to say goodbye to his grandfather."
Lamar sighed in annoyance. "Fine."
She then grabbed Jin, still sitting on the ground in shock, by the neck and lifted him as if he were a cat, heading towards Adrian.
She then threw him on the ground next to Adrian. "Finish this quickly."
Adrian looked at Jin, coughing weakly, and smiled gently. "It seems I'll be seeing your grandmother soon, Jin." He then raised his blood-stained hand with difficulty to pat Jin on the head.
"Do you remember the promise you made to me?"
Tears flowed down Jin's face as he looked at his grandfather. "Don't go... you can't leave yet."
He begged, his voice weak and sorrowful, biting his lip.
"Don't go, you wretched man. I told you cant meet her yet ..."
His sobs intensified, leaving him unable to speak further.
Adrian smiled kindly. "Don't worry. Everything will be alright."
"No, I said no!" Jin shouted at Adrian, shaking his shoulder.
But Adrian had already passed away...
Jin shouted, "Hey, old man, can you hear me?" His voice was filled with pain as he yelled,
"Answer me, you wretched man!"
He gripped his grandfather's shoulder and shook him violently. "Answer me, you foolish old man! Stop playing around!"
"Answer me, I said answer me now!!!"
Lamar, who was annoyed by his shouting, approached Jin and struck him hard on the neck, causing him to lose consciousness.
"What an annoying child," she muttered.
Park sighed and gently closed Adrian's eyes. "What a bothersome last wish, Adrian."
Lamar looked at him and then asked, "What will you do now?"
Park looked at her and said, "First, I'll give this old man a decent burial. Then I'll place the boy in a field hospital temporarily while I check if he can join Lucaria."
Lamar scoffed, "You want to send this weak boy to Lucaria? Are you serious?"
Park sighed deeply, looking at Jin. "It's the last wish of that damned grandfather. Besides, he mentioned something that seems intersting... He said this boy is from the Yoshta."
Lamar's expression turned serious. "What do you mean by Yoshta? It's impossible for any of their descendants to remain, and you know that well."
Park smiled. "I thought the same thing at first, but based on my knowledge of that old man, I'm sure he's not lying."
"So, for now, I'll respect his wish until we verify this intriguing information."
Lamar raised an eyebrow. "As you wish. I'll leave now, so see you later."
"Ah, goodbye," and then Park buried Adrian.
After several hours, Jin slowly opened his eyes to find himself lying on a comfortable bed in a sterile medical room.
He looked at the ceiling and began to cry as he clutched the bed he was lying on.
"Damn that old man," he muttered hoarsely, crying with intensity.
"I'll kill them. I'll kill them all, whatever that damned thing is, I'll kill it!" Jin continued to curse and cry.
His eyes burned with anger and resentment as he clenched his fists.
A sweet and tender voice called out to him, "Are you alright?" The girl was strikingly beautiful with long, shiny red hair and looked at Jin with compassionate eyes.
"That's none of your business," Jin replied sharply, still tearful.
Unfazed by his cold behavior, the girl approached with a gentle smile and sat beside him on the edge of the bed.
She suddenly embraced him gently and said, "You really looks like your grandfather."
Jin was surprised by her sudden hug and looked at her in astonishment.
"Huh? Do you even know who my grandfather is?" Jin felt embarrassed by the unexpected hug.
With a calm smile, she replied, "Yes, he was my teacher once."
As she hugged him, she gently stroked his hair and added, "Your grandfather was truly a wonderful man."
Unable to hold himself back, Jin began to cry intensely in her embrace, biting his lip, unable to find words to respond.
After Jin had cried and shouted out everything he had, the girl gently let him go and looked at him.
"Would you mind telling me about yourself?" she asked kindly.
Jin hesitated while wiping his nose. "Why do you want to know?"
The girl laughed softly, "You shouldn't be so serious with a pretty girl like me."
Jin felt embarrassed and muttered, "As if I care."
After a moment of silence, Jin looked at the girl, who was still smiling at him, and said, "Hmm, I'm Jin."
"Hello, Jin. I'm Elena," she replied.
She took his hands in hers and asked, "How old are you, Jin?"
"I'm fourteen," Jin answered reluctantly.
Elena smiled gently, "Ah, you're still young."
Jin sighed, "I'm not young! Hah, and how old are you?"
She laughed " you can't ask a beautiful woman about her age"
Jin felt embarrassed. "Damn, I don't want to know."
"Anyway, I'm twenty-nine," she answered with a smile.
"Now, would you mind telling me what happened to you before you got here?"
Jin's expression turned more sullen, and he told her everything that had happened to him in the forest...
Elena listened attentively and sympathetically.
"Don't be too hard on yourself; it's not your fault," she said, stroking his hair gently.
"So what should I do? He's dead and I didn't do anything!" Jin asked bitterly.
Suddenly, a voice from behind him said, "Ah, I think you should head to Lucaria," it suggested calmly.
Jin felt alarmed and jumped up. "Who are you? How did you get here?"
Park laughed loudly, "Haha, what a reaction."
Elena smiled. "Is Jin going to Lucaria?"
He nodded, "Hmm, well, not officially, but yes, I'll try to get him to join there," he answered with a tone of amusement.
"Going to Lucaria? Me?" Jin asked in shock.
Park answered excitedly, "Well, almost. Yes, you'll accompany me to Lukaria soon if things go smoothly."
Elena clapped excitedly, "What wonderful news!"
Park smiled. "Isn't it?"
