A shocking fight

It's the next day of school and everyone is in class. Seth is looking out of the window as always, admiring the sunny, blue sky. Peter comes in late and gives Maria a smile as she smiles back at him. As Peter walks by Seths desk, Seth looks at him, and Peter smiles back. The teacher finally enters the classroom and gathers everyone's attention.

​"Quiet everyone!!! We have a new student today. She was transferred from a different school similar to ours. I expect you all to be on your best behavior".

As he finished speaking, a girl opened the door and walked in. The girl was short and she had hair that sat above her shoulders. Her eyes were a beautiful hazel with a green/brown mix. Her skin color was fairer than most, and her face had tiny freckles around her nose, cheeks and forehead. She was very adorable.

​"Hello! My name is.. NO WAY!! Mari? Is that you? And the two boys that saved us! How are you?"

She exclaimed with a large smile. She saw Peter, and their eyes met for a long second. Maria laughed.

​"Yes!! I didn't know you were coming to THIS school!"

She said. Maria could tell that she was happy that she could see her friend everyday at school.

​"Ladies, please calm down this instant. Now, would you mind introducing yourself?"

The teacher said while looking at the girl. She nodded and smiled.

​"My name is Nevangeline. You can give me any nickname. I've been called Eva, Angie, Angeline, Lina, all of them, I guarantee you."

​She said. She bowed her head and walked over to an empty desk. She sat down.

As soon as she sat down, Clementine entered the door.

​"That's another late slip for you young lady. Your future isn't thanking you for these detentions you're getting"

​Said the teacher angrily. Clementine ignored it, and walked over to her desk, which Nevangeline was sat at.

​"Move. Now."

Said Clemetine, obviously not in the greatest of moods. Nevangeline looked at her and started to gather her things. Maria walked up to them and tapped Clemetines back.

​"Why don't you just let her sit there? Shes new, don't give her any problems".

Mari told her calmly while having an unpleasant look on her face. Clementine turned her whole body around facing Maria.

​"Who are you to tell me what to do? And besides, this was my seat first".

Clementine said to Maria. The tension between them was building up.

​"Well you weren't the one sitting here were you? Nevangeline was and you were out probably being a whore".

Clementine slapped Maria and said:

​"Don't you dare ever call me a whore again, bitch".

Maria pulled Clementines hair without a second thought. Clementine shoved Maria to the ground and started punching her face. Everyone was shocked. The whole class watched them. They didn't know what to do, as this had happened so fast. Finally, Nevangeline stood up and started yelling at them to calm down and let go of each other.

​"Listen to me! Calm down let go!"

She said as she pulled Mari away from Clementine. Mari felt weak, and that was obvious, but she was more angry than anything. Clementine stares at them both, then looked behind her to see everyone watching, even the teacher who has never experienced this kind of conflict before in his years of teaching. Clementine felt strange. She started to wonder why the teacher didn't step in. She thought that it would have been his job to protect his students from harm, so why didn't he break the fight? Clementine sighed and looked at Seth.

"Good luck in here Katsu."

She said, then continued to run out of the classroom.

Everyone wondered what she meant by that, but they were still shaken up about the fight. The only one who didn't even bother to look was Seth. When Clementine said what she said, Seth's eyes widened a bit, but he was still relaxed about it. He decided it was best to continue looking out to the world of squirrels, birds, and nature.

"Well, now that that's over, shall we begin with the class?"

The teacher said with a smirk, as everyone gathered their notebooks and pens and began to work.

​The class was over, and school was ending. Nevangeline and Maria walked out of class while talking and giggling. Peter and Seth walked out after them.

​"Seth, do you know what she means by Katsu? I saw her look at you when she said it"

Peter asked Seth nervously. Peter spent the whole school day wondering what that meant, and if it had something to do with his strength. Seth heard what Peter asked, but decided it was best not to answer. Peter looked at Seth and said,

​"Oh well, maybe someday you'll open up to me".

Peter looked down to the floor with sad eyes. Seth felt bad about this, but he knew in his heart he couldn't tell anyone what it meant. They continued walking, and they met up with Nevangeline and Maria once again.

​"Hey whats up girls? Welcome to your new school Neva."

Peter said with a wink.

​"Neva? Is that a new nickname? I like it!"

Nevangelina said. She was happy to have friends so quickly, but she was still concerned about Maria and the fight she had earlier.

​Peter, and Neva looked at Maria with concern.

​"Mari, are you okay?"

They asked. Maria nodded and smiled.

​"I'm fine!"

She said. She didn't want her friends to worry about her. As they continued walking, Seth saw Clementine sitting down near the doorway, it looked like she was crying. Clementine looked up at Seth and glared at him. She looked awful, and she looked mad. Clementine gave Seth a fake smile, then he looked away as they all left the building together.

​Neva and Maria walked home together, and so did Seth and Peter. Finally, Seth had friends, and even though this was all new to him, he began to feel some kind of emotion he hasn't felt for quite a while. That emotion he felt was a speck of joy.
