Song Zhuyu abruptly turned back and stared at the space behind him, though his eyes were slightly unfocused as if he was seeing something else. Creases slowly etched themselves between his brows.
"...Mr. Song?"
The voice jolted him back to the present and he shifted his gaze forward again, facing Ma Xuemin's troubled expression. "I hope you can understand. It's not like I am unwilling to lend it to you, but something seems to be wrong with the signal tower. We can no longer intercept any network connection."
Song Zhuyu had come all the way to the meeting hall with the hope that he could contact Chief Song to inquire about the reinforcements. The older man had promised him that they would arrive within two days at most, and the chances that he would go back on his words were extremely small, unless… unless something had happened out there.
