Second Trial(1)

Yang Tian took a deep breath before he turned his head towards Chu Yuechan.

'Great Way of the Buddha' was already revolving within his body, allowing him to recover at a quick rate.

"Umm…" Chu Yuechan didn't know what she should say to him.

"Wait… I guess I will heal your body a bit before we go in the second trial ground." Yang Tian said before suddenly appearing in front of Chu Yuechan.

Currently, Chu Yuechan's eyes couldn't follow his speed at all.

Yang Tian touched her shoulder with a grave look and revolved the Heavenly Energy within her body. This Heavenly Energy was from 'Great Way of the Buddha'.

Other than her profound veins, Chu Yuechan's internal injuries were recovering. The pain she felt had lessened quite a bit …

"T-tha-" Before she could finish her words, Yang Tian gave her an intense stare, "Save it. I don't need something as worthless as thanks from you."

After nearly 2-3 hours, all her internal injuries had healed except her profound veins. They had shattered entirely, after all…

"Alright, it's time to go."

"Yes…" Chu Yuechan felt a little calm. She was happy that at least the pain had disappeared…

From what she had seen, Yang Tian should be able to acquire the Dragon God's Bloodline, and then he would have the power to save her. She was genuinely hopeful about this now…

He was merely going to give her a choice. Whether to take it or not was going to be her own decision.

The two entered the second trial ground soon enough. After slowly entering the stone gate, their vision became pitch-black. Then, they took two more steps forward, and it suddenly lightened up; it was as if it only took two steps to completely step over from one world into another.

What appeared before his eyes was a vast expanse of an endless plain. Grass covered the ground, and some trees gave shade; even the faint sound of running water could be heard. There were short hills in the distance that rose and fell. Occasionally, the cries of all kinds of birds and animals could be heard.

"This is… the next trial ground? It doesn't seem… to have any hint of danger." Chu Yuechang said softly.

It was also at this time that the Primordial Azure Dragon's voice sounded.

"Young human, welcome. This place is the Dragon God Trial's second trial ground. This trial ground has no limit, and also has no exit. You can only leave this place after you have successfully completed the trial. Or perhaps you would be buried here before completing the trial."

"There are an innumerable amount of profound beasts here in this endless plain. The level of the profound beasts here have all been adjusted with your strength as the benchmark. Also, as a result of the two-fold difficulty level, you have to bear, every single profound beast here is not lower than the Peak of the Spirit Profound Realm. As for some of the more powerful profound beasts, their strength far surpasses the Stone Dragon General that you had killed."

"To these profound beasts, this place is an endless paradise. But to you, this place is hazardous; it is an abyss filled with countless shadows of death. This is because once the profound beasts here sense your aura, they would all immediately unleash an endless barrage of attacks. At the same time, under my soul's guidance, profound beasts near you would all be led in your direction. You would be hunted at all times by profound beasts and would never be able to sleep soundly or eat in peace."

"And your objective in clearing this second stage of the trial is also straightforward. It is to kill ninety-nine thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine profound beasts, within one year!"

An amused look appeared on Yang Tian's face as he spoke, "You are quite a contradictory spirit, aren't you? Didn't you earlier say that this trial ground has no limit, yet there is a time limit?"

The Dragon God's Spirit remained silent for some time. Indeed… This might have been a slip of the tongue on its part.

"Whatever… I accept this." Yang Tian spoke out with a lot of confidence in his voice.

The Primordial Azure Dragon's voice fell, and the surrounding atmosphere suddenly turned from fresh to gloomy.

The howls of innumerable profound beasts sounded from far away. Out of all the profound auras these profound beasts were released, none of them was below the Earth Profound Realm.

Not at all hesitating even a tiny bit, Yang Tian utilised the Star God's Broken Shadow and sent two afterimages in different directions. He could sense no presence of the beasts in his southern route, so it was clearly the safest direction out of all.

He knew that Chu Yuechan wouldn't be able to follow him with her current body or power. That was why he first appeared next to Chu Yuechan and grabbed hold of her body before he started running towards the southern direction.

Chu Yuechan was naturally stunned when she felt his hand around her body. And naturally, she resisted his touch.

But how could she overpower Yang Tian?

"Stay quiet! Staying there would mean that we would be attacked by the Beasts at the Spirit Profound Realm or even the Earth Profound Realm. Do you want me to leave you behind to become their food? If so, I can throw you to their mouths right now!" Yang Tian seemed really irritated as he felt her struggling.

Chu Yuechan immediately shut her mouth as she understood his words. In fact, she was quite ashamed of herself.

By the end of the day, Yang Tian found a place for them to stay. He used the Concealing Star Technique to entirely conceal their presence.

This should be a good spot for some time.
