Dark Omen: A Galactic Adventure with a Lazy Bum

Imagine a universe where science and magic coexist, where intergalactic civilizations vie for power and resources, where beings of unimaginable power roam the stars. The most famous of these beings are known as the Seven Omens, ranked as the 7 most dangerous individuals according to the Universal Danger Scale. Now imagine one of those beings is a lazy bum who spends most of his time sleeping and surfing the galactic internet. That’s Aeryn Sol, the Omen of Darkness, a genius inventor who can revolutionize anything he sets his mind to. He is also a troublemaker who likes to mess with anything he finds interesting, which usually results in chaos and destruction across the galaxies. But his boredom is about to end when he meets Conlan Antares, the Hero of Prophecy, a valiant and virtuous warrior who leads a group of loyal companions in a quest to bring peace and justice to the galaxy. He sees Aeryn as a menace and a mystery, and vows to stop him at all costs. Their encounter sparks a chain of events that will take them to the most amazing and perilous places in the universe, where they will face enemies and allies, challenges and opportunities, secrets and revelations. Along the way, they will discover more about themselves, each other, and the true nature of the universe. This is an epic adventure of exploration and discovery, of friendship and rivalry, of science and magic, of darkness and light. This is also a hilarious comedy of errors and misunderstandings, of pranks and jokes, of sarcasm and irony. This is the story of Aeryn Sol, the Omen of Darkness. ________________________________________________________________________________________ Aeryn: "Hope I'm not late to this party!"

Chapter 2: Encounter

Aeryn Sol walked through the corridors of his lab, dodging bullets and explosions. He was having the time of his life.

He had encountered several groups of mercenaries along the way, equipped in matching black standard offensive gear, and he had dispatched them with ease. He had used his whacking stick to stun them, both physically and psychologically, and a standard kick to the dome finished the fight. Though he did note to himself to lower the physical empowerment option of his jacket, as he did hear some sickening crunches as a result of some of his kicks.

He also used his lab as a weapon, activating traps and defenses that he had installed for fun, most of which resulted in fiery explosions.

He had seen the fear and confusion in their eyes as they realized who they were dealing with. He listened to their screams and curses as they fell to his attacks. He had seen their blood and guts splatter onto the white floor and walls, coating them red.

He loved it.

He loved the thrill of the chase, the challenge of the fight, the satisfaction of the kill. He loved the adrenaline pumping through his veins, the excitement tingling in his nerves, the joy bubbling in his heart.

He hadn't felt this alive in a long time.

He wondered who had sent these mercenaries after him. He wondered what they wanted from him. He wondered if they had any idea what they had gotten themselves into, as some of the mercenaries didn't seem to have known that this was HIS lab, an Omen's lab.

But he didn't care.

He only cared about having fun.

And he was having a lot of fun.

As he strolled on, he noticed a damaged security bot laying against the wall, surrounded by the corpses of a few mercenaries. It seemed to be barely functioning, as apparent by the flickering interface and the sparking cables that were exposed from the damaged exterior armor. Aeryn slowed down and kneeled on one knee to get a better look at it.

"Hey buddy, you look like you're in a tight spot," commented Aeryn cheekily, not seeming to take the precarious situation of the bot seriously. "Let me fix you right up."

Then, seemingly like magic, his hands seemed to fly along the robot, fixing and patching the robot in seconds, taking out tools and materials from his jacket's inner pockets. The bizarre thing was, that the tools and materials taken out of his jacket seemed to be of a bigger volume than the pocket themselves.

The bot's digital interface then blinked to life, showing a simple digital face ( l _ l ).

"There you go, you're all right now. How about you go to the maintenance dock to get yourself checked out? Leave the rest to me," Aeryn said as he dusted himself off and picked up some of the grenade belts he noticed the mercenaries had on them.

He then strolled away, leaving behind the robot that gave him a short bow, and moved towards the maintenance dock.

Aeryn then reached the main hangar, where he saw a large spaceship parked in the middle. It was a sleek and shiny vessel, with a white and gold design and a logo that he didn't recognize. It had several guns and missiles mounted on its sides and wings. It looked like a formidable machine.

But it was no match for him.

He saw several mercenaries guarding the entrance to the ship. They spotted him and opened fire. He dodged their shots and hid behind the surrounding walls as cover for those he couldn't. He put the grenades he had picked up before to good use, chucking two or three at a time at the opposing enemies. He killed some of them and wounded others. After the smoke cleared, he made his way to the ship, leaving a trail of bodies behind him.

He reached the door and kicked it open. He entered the ship and looked around. The interior was pretty big, all things considered. He saw more mercenaries inside, with their guns trained on him, along with some computers and consoles. Aeryn also noticed the large metal crate in the back, secured with chains and locks. It pretty much seemed to scream that it held an important item or creature inside, given how secure it looked.

He wondered what was inside.

He didn't have to wonder for long.

Hi, and I hoped you enjoyed that second chapter!

As of now, I don't really have a specified time for publishing a chapter, as I'm doing this as a hobby. So, let's move on to the next event....

....RANDOM FACT OF THE DAY!!!

- The bird on the Twitter logo is named "Larry." He was named after the basketball player Larry Bird, who played for the Boston Celtics1. The logo was designed by Simon Oxley, a British graphic designer who also created the logos for GitHub and iStockphoto. The logo has gone through several changes since its inception in 2006, but the name Larry has stuck.
