Hope...

It was safe to say the gang wasn't fairing too well against the king tier beast. Its agility and power no doubt outclassed them by far.

"Get ready Corey "!!!Erwin said ..

Corey shouted back in response "Ready!"

And just as Corey affirmed, Erwin let out four lightning bolts faster than the initial one he threw at the beast who in turned reacted by making slashes in the air.

They didn't need to to get out of the way but they did anyway, as the thunder bolts met with the beast's attack, it canceled out each other for the first time.

That was a sign they could match its attack power somehow. Seeing this at the back of were the action was taking place, Zayn started feeling threatened and ordered his men to get involved so they'd get the last hit in, huge mistake that decision was as the men followed the orders of their captain with question.

They charged in with battles cries " aahhhhh!!!". The teens that have been engaged in battle with the wolf from earlier turned around to look at the source of the noise and that's when they saw zayn and his men charging forward ..

They all had their weapons drawn, ranging from swords, axes, mallets and of course zayn's peculiar weapon.

The others on seeing the adults finally step up thought their chances had increase.." with their abilities and better weapons ..we might actually survive this"..Rodney thought

But how wrong he was, just as quickly as that thought flashed through his mind it also vanished quickly, as he saw the next movement the wolf did by turning its back and swinging its huge spiked tail which caught three of zayn's men,with the spikes caught in their bodies, penetrating their gears effortlessly, killing them and tossing them to a far distance.

"We can't beat this thing" the last of zayns men lamented.

The others stood thinking of whether running wasn't too late of an option to choose, but they knew it would just make the Wolf's job a lot easier, as then they would be easy pickings. Not like they weren't already anyway.

The wolf growled and started making its way to them. Then out of desperation everyone started throwing all they had at the wolf. Shadow bombs from Rodney, lightning bolts from Erwin, flying rocks and all sorts from Eiko, Mia tossing her fan...and then there was jack,Johan and Corey who had decided to make their way to the beast while the others kept it occupied.

Jack got close enough and place both hands on the ground near the beast back legs turning the ground to mud then just as quickly as that happened he turned it rock solid and yelled ..." coray..jack you're up"

The two boys ran up to the beast and jack with his blades swung hard at the beast's leg injuring it, now it was Corey's turn to use his his poison ability to somehow slow the beast down. The plan all along was to get a flesh wound on the beast then Corey could use his level 5 poison ability on the beast,but he wasn't fast enough, as the beast let out a painful cry, and immediately Broke off from the trap laid by Johan ..

It looked at the three with immense anger and just at that very instant it grabbed jack with its mouth, bit down and falling out from its mouth was the remains of jack...his legs.

Seeing this a strange feeling grew inside of everyone as they all had the same notification

*Bling*

Rodney was clenching his fist so hard as he felt useless. Mia had let out a loud scream and had long broken down in tears, it's clear she was the emotional type. In this situation who wouldn't be emotional though?

"Everybody attack at once and give it your best!!!" Zayn declared

Somehow seeing his men die in front of him had given him a new found resolve, now he wasn't thinking of running.

" I'll kill this beast myself!!!". Zayn said

Running head first towards the beast, the beast accepted the challenge and gave a groar signalling "challenge accepted".

Zayn was sure he alone wouldn't come close to hurting the beast but together they stood a chance.

The beast threw a paw swipe at zayn and zayn had predicted this so he lifted his intermediate weapon up ready for a block. When the attack hit the weapon it lighted up and for a moment zayn thought his plan had worked until he could feel the power from the attack still pushing him back till he was eventually tossed to the ground and suffered bruises to his head.

The thing zayn was trying to do initially was rebound the beast's attacks back to it with his weapon, but that failed miserably because what they failed to realise was that this beast wasn't even at the level of their weapons. So their attacks would have little to no effect on it.

Zayn got up and picked his weapon that had fallen to the side and shouted " Throw everything you've got at it ...don't worry about it's attacks"

The others hearing this didn't think Zayn was in his right senses but it was worth trying

" OK kiddo I gotta go help the rest".. Blaze said to Blair as she went running back and in her hands were fireballs

Everybody was attacking the beast at once and it looked like they were actually doing damage ...Atleast.

Then the beast got desperate and instead of trying to avoid the barrage of attacks coming at it, it spun its body backwards and swung its tail out.

The others seeing this knew they were doomed. Still zayn stood firm with a more determined look than ever, held his weapon out in the front and when the attack hit for a moment it looked like it had stopped till it started pushing zayne back until it finally broke and hit everyone sending them flying and tumbling.

Zayn was the most hurt as he was the one who took the brunt of the damage he kept spitting out blood and his right hand had been caught clean off from that single attack..

The others were in no good condition either, as they are were all rolling on the ground in pain.

The first time zayn performed the "mirror effect" of his weapon which would send the attack back, this time around he went for another option, the "Fore cast". What this does is that it creates some kind of force field around that perimeter. But the attack the beast delivered was too much for zayn's weapon to handle.

The last of zayn's men crawled up to Zayn to check how he is doing as he wasn't badly hurt like the rest of them. He then noticed the beast was making its way to them, so he took zayn's weapon and ran ahead to confront the beast. He got hit by the beast's claw and that was the last of him. At that moment amongst every one that was down and out, one stood up and that was Rodney.

His eyes were midnight black and he had shadows surrounding him all over and the next instant he was encased in shadows and disappeared.

Reappearing by the beast's side was the shadow encased body with a sword drawn. The shadow man stuck at the beast aiming straight for it's chest but the beast did see it coming and reacted by hitting the sword away with its paw, sending both the sword and the wielder flying.

While flying in mid air wings popped out completely made of shadows from the back of the shadow figure and it regained balance and flew back with impressive speed.

Now picking his sword on the way back the shadow figure went in for a swing and connected, hitting the eye of the beast but the beast immediately retaliated with a claw hit which sent the figure flying and hitting a tree, breaking it in half. The shadows immediately began to fade off from Rodney as he was seen lying unconscious on the ground.

" Rodney!!".. Eiko shouted as he struggled to pick himself up to move..

The beast was closing in on Rodney

Until it got hit with a lighting bolt square on the side of the face which sent it moving back a bit.

" I'll will kill you!!" Said a bloodied teen standing with sparks coming from his hands. This was Erwin and right now he looked to have lost it all as his eyes showed no sign of fear. No they showed no other emotion but rage, pure unadulterated rage.

But just as he was about to move in on the attack he noticed that the forest was giving way and the trees and plants were all moving aside...

" Oh no ...are there two of them?" Blair who was still hurt and was on the ground thought.

Then the trees began to move and circled the beast all round forming some type of cage around it.

"I'm sorry ...I'm late". This came from none other but Damien, the leader of the veteran squad and the best hunter the hunters knew.

He immediately activated his ability not wasting time, moving the trees, making them go in the direction he wanted them to. This ability was a rare one and at a high level at that.

This ability involves the control of nature, plants in particular. And Damien was a master at this.That has been the key reason Damien was the best hunter they had.

Damien got to work immediately, pushing about ten tress at the wolf aiming to finish it at once. The wolf seeing this reacted, pushing through the trees surrounding it, destroying it's make shit cage easily. Then it let out paw swipes to destroy the incoming attack, each time it hit the trees it would split them in half. That didn't stop the attack though. Damien continued to push them further not slowing down as they came hauling at the wolf. Now they were 25 trunks:in total as some trees had been split multiple times.

They all connected at once, lifting the wolf off its feet and tossing it a few meters back. The wolf was down as it had a huge stem stuck in its under belly.

The others where wondering just how much power it would take to control such attack. And in reality Damien was spent as that was his first time doing such energy requiring manouver.

" we have to finish it while it's down!". Johan said

And they all agreed as they all rushed off to try and put it down for good

Just as they were getting near though, a strange man in a cloak appeared out of no where and with sheer force stomped on the head of the wolf. The others could hear the power behind the attack as it hard let out a big bang.

And almost immediately the wolf was down and out with blood coming out of its nostrils and eye.

Then doing some strange hand movements, something left the wolf and appeared in the mans hands.

"The beast core ". Damien pointed out.

The strange man replied .." thank you for the gift"then vanished.
