Dark Hero in Tate no Yuusha

Vishwa found himself reborn in an anime world known as "The Rising of the Shield Hero" as a Morsan. At the tender age of six, he was bestowed with a cursed weapon called the Great Sword Tizona, a weapon of legendary status crafted by unknown beings. Due to his deep-rooted mistrust in others and the fear of meeting the same fate as his father, who was betrayed by his supposed friends, Vishwa chose to live as a lone wolf. As he grew stronger, he formed a team of slaves to accompany him and together they embarked on a journey to slay ferocious beasts. Along the way, he even lent a helping hand to the shield hero. *** Author's Note: I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to share my initial Fanfic with all of you, as it marks the beginning of my journey towards becoming a proficient writer. Lucky Day

"...70.... 72.... 76!!.. this is a new record!! now it's time to hunt some rabbits.."

Morsan's stomach rumbled as he moved to further south side of Castle Town, Uspail's territory. Even though he said they were rabbits, they were also monsters with considerable threat to normal civilians.

They are commonly found in the forest around Melromarc and come in only two colors, white and brown.

Unlike inorganic monsters like Yellow Balloon, Mush, and Eggeg, they will draw blood and need to be dissected to obtain the monster drops when they are killed.

Their fur can be sold for a considerably high price compared to other low-level monster drops. Uspail meat is edible and can be eaten when cooked.

Even though Morsan was more than capable enough to hunt Uspail, he stuck with Yellow Balloons due to high risk and the long dismantling process. It's also hard to transport large amounts of fur and meat, plus the durability of his precious dagger was also one of the factors preventing him from hunting them for leveling up.

He hunts them daily when he gets hungry from hunting balloon monsters.

When he arrived at the entrance of the forest, he saw a giant, brown rabbit, Usapil.

The Usapil looked at him over for a second before rushing at him with its huge front teeth bared.

Despite a similar attacking pattern, Usapil had high attack power and agility compared to Balloon monsters.

*Kiine! Kiine!*

He dodged its first attack and stabbed his dagger on its head. He killed it swiftly in one hit without any discomfort.

When he pulled out the knife, blood sprayed.

"Tsk.."

The Usapil collapsed to the ground. There was no sympathy for that dead monster in his eyes.

Morsan is getting annoyed at the blood on his dagger. It shows the spell on his dagger started to wane. He needs to recast 'Blood Clean' magic on his dagger. It will cost him about 60 copper pieces.

He gets only one copper piece for two Yellow Balloon's skins. In other words, he had to spend 120 Yellow Balloon's skins for one recast of the 'Blood Clean' spell on his dagger which is only used for a month even though he rarely hunts Usapils.

He dealt with another Usapil that appeared from the shrubbery and bounded towards Morsan with its teeth out.

He took a dissecting knife from his sack bag and went to dismantle it.

The first time he butchered an animal, he felt so uncomfortable. He couldn't even eat food for two days but it was something he had to do to survive.

I butchered those two Usapils within a few minutes.

EXP(246/500)

He got 7 experience points for each of these Usapils.

He found a clearing, stacked some firewood, and built a fire.

He bought some cooking wares from a sack bag.

He also picked some herbs that he identified to be edible and boiled them with the Usapil meat for dinner. There was some meat left over, so he skewered it and grilled it by the fire.

He was planning on going back to town to eat his dinner.

Once the cooking was done, I took a nibble to test it. There was nothing wrong with it. It was cooked well.

Even his cooking ability lit up and told him that the quality was "pretty good".

He held the pot of stew and a skewer of meat.

'It looks so delicious!'

His stomach had been rumbling in anticipation, and his eyes lit up when he bit into the food.

He ate it as though it were the most delicious thing in the world. After the day's fighting, he got two Usapil furs, seventy-six Yellow Balloon skins, and some medicine herbs. He had finally finished his dinner.

'With the money I made from these things, hopefully, I'd be able to afford some better equipment.'

He made his way back to the town gate as he looked at the sun which was about to set and decided to try and sell my herbs first since the herb store was nearby the gate.

Guards who were standing near the gates, let him pass without asking anything since they got so used to his daily routine.

Inside the gate, cobblestone streets were lined with stone buildings, many of which were furnished with wooden signs. Delicious smells were wafting from many directions at once.

He entered the herb store and showed the medicinal herbs he gathered in Usapil's territory directly to the shop owner.

A middle-aged man who was about 40 to 45 old, with blond hair and glasses, inspected those herbs. Hence he got so used to Morsan that he didn't think much of it.

"Mmm?! These are in excellent shape!!... Where did you get them?"

"As usual, in the entrance of the south forest. Didn't you know I always gather herbs in that place?"

"I know, but I've never seen such high-quality stuff around. I thought only junk grew out there."

"Heh. I guess I'm really lucky today.."

They chatted for a little bit, and eventually, he bought the grass off of him. His stash was worth one piece of silver and 20 pieces of bronze… which was much better than anything he had done so far. It was his new record in selling medicinal herbs.

Then he went to the store where he usually sells his loot.

A portly man stood behind the counter. He shot Morsan a professional smile which made him look like a scammer.

"Welcome! Welcome!"

"*Sigh* Please wipe that scammer like a smile on your face. Here, I came to sell my battle loots, 76 Yellow balloons, and 2 Usapil furs."

"What do you mean by that? what a rude brat.... one... three..."

Contrary to what he said, he doesn't seem to be offended at all. With a huge grin, he was counting all the loots on Borsan placed on the table.

"38 copper pieces for 76 Yellow balloons, 30 copper pieces for 2 Usapil furs... furs were in excellent quality, so I put some extra money... here, total 75 copper pieces."

'Huh... seriously?!!'
