Life of a salary man was hell. Long hours and low pay. Few vacation days and even fewer sick days. However, for Mr. Sall, he would've given everything to have his normal life back.
His days of misfortune started when he picked up a small box at a bazaar a week ago. There was nothing out of the ordinary in the little box made out of wood. They polished it to a mirror sheen and no markings of any kind. Inside it was a small silver coin, with symbols etched onto it that he did not recognize. However, he thought it was pretty enough to keep and lost the wooden box.
As the days went on, everything began to go wrong for Mr. Sall. He couldn't sleep well and always felt a strange presence following him around. Standing at the foot of his bed or staring at him from the door. The presence had a humanoid form. Like a shadow, it had no defining features. Still, he could feel the creature staring at him.
