Day 40 Next Bout

Liang Yu was not wanting to give up on the tournament. Not seeing, was not that big of a deal with the Metal Seed humming and receiving feedback. Just cost him a lot of qi if didn't control it right.

Lei Shun was grateful for the exchange. So happy, he taught Liang Yu the correct method of the first level of the Lighting Field Manual. Seeing him sit down to practice it right then and there made the old man even happier.

"You cannot have my disciple." Old Xu warned. Considering how flimsy the relationship between him and Liang Yu currently was he didn't doubt an issue arriving from a better deal. 'Need to find something to make him want to stay. But with him only a first-year student here, the rules prevent me from giving him access to the higher techniques.'

"Hmm, Xu Li.. I wouldn't dare." Lei Shun turned to his old comrade. "..I will definitely come back for a visit in the future. But I have to go. Trouble with my nephew back home. Apparently, the girl he is infatuated with, has some strange going on in her family or something."

"Sounds complicated." Old Xu shook his head in dismay. "I have know idea what goes on with these youngins. They just don't like to take things easy and slow."

"It is youth." Lei Shun nodded agreeing. He turned to the others giving a hand salute. "Till next time everyone." In a burst of yellow lighting, he was gone from his current spot.

"Hmm?" Liang Yu had circulated the manual countless times. Nothing new happy in other locations of his body but he understood something a little more. 'The Metal Seed is the center of this technique? Why is that not listed in the manual or in the stuff for the Metal Seed I have found though?'

Changing the method of the Lighting Field Manual to fit more with the method for the Metal Seed, Liang Yu felt an increased humming vibration from his chest. His body Responding in kind as he understood it more.

But not enough time to check it out. Liang Jian tapped his shoulder to get his attention.

"Cousin, you missed your name getting called."

"Right." Liang Yu stood up and looked around. With all the talking he was able to locate the arena easily. It was the largest surface in the area that bounced back a small electric charge. 'Well, all I need is a cane to create additional charges and I am golden.'

"Liang Yu v.s. Xuanyin Rei.." The Elder noticed something. He was ready to say something but was stopped by Old Xu. "Same as before..." looking to them both to see if they had anything to say. He reluctantly continued. "Match will only end if one gives up or is unable to continue."

"I am not stupid like your last opponent." Xuanyin Rei said. He was very confident in his abilities. Noticing something odd, a smile appeared on his face. "You are blind!" Voice loud and slightly obnoxious. "This will make.."

*Wham!* Liang Yu struck him across the jaw with a devastating right.

"You bastard! I am gonna.." Xuanyin Rei was embarrassed he was hit out of the blue like that. ".. rip you apart!" Before he could recover, however, his loud voice continued to give him away.

*Wham!* Liang Yu struck him across the face from the other direction with a devastating left.

"Kukk!" Xuanyin Rei stepped back away from Liang Yu. His hands rubbing the bottom of his jaw. Soothing the pain. His qi was gathered to prevent any electrical problems as it did Huyan Ro. 'This bastard! How can he find me so easily?'

Liang Yu stood in place unmoving. His head moving just a little. His ears worked as receivers as well as the hairs on his arms. To much to explore from the technique to understand so soon.

'I think putting qi into my hair will help, but the amount of feedback I will receive might make things worse. Might even scramble my brain some more. I need to be careful.' Liang Yu's feet tapped against the ground. His opponent not close to him from the feedback he received. 'One of my blasted fears in life is now happening, just great! Didn't expect this to happen until my 70's! Or my liver giving out!'

"Do not waste your chance Rei'er!" An older woman called him affectionally. She was an elder of the Xuanyin City Merchant Guild. "Attack fast and relentlessly!" Her eyes looking at the boy's belt. 'Just hope he doesn't give in to his bad habits.'

Xuanyin Rei understood her meaning. He just didn't want to use the weapons so soon. Pulling a pair of claws from his waist, the crowd turned quiet in awe. Which made it harder for Liang Yu to determine things.

'Welp, silence is not good.' Liang Yu reacted fast enough to the situation. He wouldn't spend a lot of qi to increase the humming to find his opponent faster. 'Keep in control. No matter how small.' He mentally recited. Panic wouldn't help in the situation.

Liang Yu's arms shifted as he tucked his right arm close. The fist close to his mouth while the left moved back and forth in an almost sawing motion. Odd that his back slightly bent. Causing his hanging arm to be about level with his waist.

"His stance is different!" Olf He cried out. Very undignified for a vice-principal. He eyed old Xu out the corner of his eye. His rival not looking away from the arena a tiny bit. Feeling pensive he focused on the arena as well. 'Hopefully, Xuanyin Rei can injure him enough to make it easier for one of the others to take him out. But to think the Xuanyin Merchant Guild risked a Semi-Heaven weapon like this. I wonder who this boy happens to be?'

"Grrr!" Xuanyin Rei's demeanor changed a little after circulating qi into the claws. Brown beastial hairs lined the arms and the neck. "Raawwrr!" He lunged at Liang Yu wildly.

The crows watched as Liang Yu didn't move. Remembering that he was actually blind at the moment. Two things happened they didn't expect though.

*Schlick!* Flesh was cut as Liang Yu took a cut across the shoulder. He turned into the attack before pulling away with kick off his toes. Immediately counter-attacking afterward.

*Fwip!* The sawing arm whipped out in a smack. Hitting Xuanyin Rei in the left eye.

"Fuu!" Xuanyin Rei snorted like a beast. His nose wrinkling a little in agitation. Despite his beastial state, he still had control of himself. The animal gestures were to cause his opponent to think they were dealing with a savage beast. "Arrroo!" He let out a howl before attacking again.

*Fwip!* The sawing arm whipped out in a smack again. This time catching Xuanyin Rei in the cheek leaving a cut half a foot long.

*Schlick!* Another cut made contact. *Schlick!* Then a second as Xuanyin Rei moved from below and slashed up. The cut was shallow due to the speed used to make it. Liang Yu had already moved differently than he expected.

Stepping forward and bending just minutely. As he attacked, his qi burst forth to his arms boosting the speed. The lighting effects were fading away. The poison finally at the limit of what it could do to his body.

*Kachaw!* A Shotgun of blows rained down on Xuanyin Rei. Unloading the large heavy barrage of punches, Liang Yu's body slid forward with each punch. Xuanyin's body was nothing more than a punching bag.

As each blow increased in power, Xuanyin Rei's anger was building. Taking a strike against the face, he attacked back the same time the next punch came. His claws cutting along the incoming fist.

*Schlick!* Blood splashed out in an arc. Slowed just enough, Xuanyin Rei escaped Liang Yu's heavy fists. The blood on the arena floor making the fight look worse than it was.

"Grr!" Xuanyin Rei took a few more steps back as Liang Yu didn't make any moves. 'I need to get control of the situation! Never have I been in such a miserable state before!' A look of hatred flashed in his eyes.

The claws glowing as Xuanyin Rei qi fed into them more. His body turning more bestial. Seeing As Liang Yu didn't move, he suspected the blood loss had caught up to him. As well as his opponents' fear of the last counterattack.

"Heh!" Grinning at his inevitable win, Xuanyin Rei charged. "Fury!" Qi erupted violently as the technique engraved in the claws were activated. Large spikes erupted from the arena. 'I will trap him and cut him to pieces!' He wanted to cripple Liang Yu!

As the spikes finished sprouting out, Liang Yu was able to tell a good bit of his surroundings now. The humming from his Metal Seed barely spinning as the vibrations still went out from the change in the arena.

'Almost finished.' Liang Yu had a good hold of the final bits of the poison. "Ptui!" He spat a black glob of toxins out. Small multicolored pearls could be seen inside before bursting. "Ate my blasted qi to!"

Blinking angrily, Liang Yu's eyesight was finally coming back. Just not enough to matter.

"Raaah!" Xuanyin Rei gave a bestial howl after kicking off a spike. The claws glowing longer as he came at Liang Yu. 'Just my stepping stone for Huang Yong!'

Soon as he entered Liang Yu's Range, it was over. The sawing arm whipped out in a smack. A spark of electricity around it. Xuanyin Rei body started to steam at the same time. He extended all of his qi at the worse time!

"Oh no...." Xuanyin Rei was so focused to protect himself against the lighting, he exhausted his qi subconsciously to fast. The claws speeding the situation up even more so really. ".. I give up!"

Liang Yu's fist was already going out. He did however twist after tightening his core muscles. It was for the next stage of the one two combo he was going to perform.

*Booom!* The air exploded to the left of Xuanyin Rei. Sending his hair around in mess. The young man collapsed on his but scared out of his mind. The crowd having covered their ears from the sound the fist produced. Almost like thunder!

"Winner.. Liang Yu!" The elder announced. He entered the ring popping his eardrums. "Maap! Mapp!" A few plucks to the base of the neck had him right as rain. "Your eyes..."

"I still cannot see." Liang Yu blinked as he tried to focus. It was no good. "I am still going to continue, however." The elder nodded. A smile as he watched Liang Yu walked off the stage.

"A short intermission before we continue. As you can see... the stage is a mess." The announcement had a few happy. They rushed to make additional bets on the next few matches. "What is this?"

Touching the blood that left Liang Yu earlier, the elder called a few of the teachers over.

Liang Yu was circulating his qi diligently. His blood loss was taken care of in minutes thanks to the Metal Seed and the body cultivating with his bones previously. His lighting sped up his recovery as Liang Jian and Linlin had wrapped him with bandages to help hide it..

"Sure you want to continue?" Liang Jian asked worriedly. The eyes were bad enough but Liang Yu did expend a lot of his qi already. "Already made a large sum of money.."

"It is ok. I know what to do." Liang Yu shook his head and raised his hand to stop any more protests. "My qi is fine, trust me." Considering he barely used any of his Flame Vortex Core qi and relied mostly on his body, theirs a lot to go around. "Have a lot to look over and a lot more to practice later."

"Hmm, you are going to go all out?" Liang Jian asked. "Bestway to end it quickly and make things work in our favor for later." His eyes looked towards the Dark Moon elder that was watching. "Sure I shouldn't make anymore bets?"

"I am sure. You already are going to win to much money." Linlin stomped her foot. "IF you make any more bets, how will you keep those funds safe?" She smacked her forehead looking at Liang Yu. "Oh.. that's how. We are going to need money for the future. But are you two sure this is the way to do it?"

*Fwish!* A bit of flame appeared around Liang Yu's body.

"I am sure now." Liang Yu was confident in something that pieced togethor in his mind. "You two are good at socializing, find some people in the Academy worth having on our side." The two grinned before taking off to handle the matters assigned to them. Considering they were already close with a few already, they could make it work. 'Need some roots somewhere. Especially if I plan on taking back a portion of the wild areas.'
