In the eerie silence of the library, Max and Mia shared a moment of desperate hope, their hands clasped tightly together. The terror outside seemed a world away until a soft noise shattered the illusion of safety. It was the sound of a book falling off a shelf, and it sent chills down Max's spine.

Hoping against hope it was another student, Max cautiously peered from behind the bookshelf. His heart sank as his eyes met those of one of the black entities. Its glowing white eyes locked onto his, sending a paralyzing fear through his body.

Mia, oblivious to the creature's presence, whispered urgently, "Max, what is it? What do you see?"

Before Max could respond, his survival instincts kicked in. He grabbed Mia's hand and started sprinting towards the private study rooms. Behind them, the creature broke into an unearthly sprint, its speed unlike anything they had ever seen.
