Chapter 27

Alpha Reynolds bumped into Zander's back, but that didn't make the Beta move.

"Ouch!"

"What is going on?" Alpha Dante's strong voice reverberated and snapped Zander and Hannibal out of their inertia. "Oh..."

Dante was the Alpha of the Warriors Stark Pack. He'd learned of the fire from one of the Mac-Tire guards, who was married to an omega in Dante's pack. The patrolman's wife kept complaining about how far she was from her family, and Dante heard that whining in one of the couple's visits to his pack. It took him no time to approach the warrior and convince him that Dante's only goal was to unite the two packs, and if that happened, whether by invasion or by marriage, everyone would win.

While the Mac-Tire was the oldest pack in the United States, having come from Europe, it was also the larger, both in terms of number and territorial scale.
