CHAPTER 2: SEPARATED 2

"How did I end up here? And by the way cool name. " Aqua said as she evades another attack from the beast.

'Geez I have to find away out of here I don't think my body can take it anymore I've lost too much energy. '

Aqua could feel the energy draining from her body due to fatigue. She had been fighting for the last seventy two hours with no rest.

"How you ended up here is none of my business, but how i'm going to finish you is." Quilt answered with an evil grin. His handsome features appearing more handsome as some strands of his hair fell on his face.

'What's with this demons the good thing about them is how to be annoying. '

"Well I would love to chat with you, but have to disappear. "Aqua opened a portal back to Mari city where her friends we're waiting for her no.

"I'll make sure to destroy you Aqua and get my revenge on you." A sinister grin appeared on Quilt as he stared at her dissapearing into the portal. His beast stared at it's master and let out muffled growls.

"Patience Lutheran, good things come to those who wait." Quilt raised his hand to stop his beast from going after her.

"The portals are becoming even more unstable." Adiel addressed his friend Ace.

"We have to find away to stablelize it before more creatures can be able to escape into the realm of the living."

Just then a portal opened and a young woman with long flowing ink black hair, blue eyes, full lips and was wearing a black robe appeared from the portal. Aqua stepped out of the portal as her eyes closed from the sudden exposure to bright light.

Adiel and Ace ran towards her as she was really weak.

"Oh my goodness you look like you ran through a tornado."Ace interjected.

"What did you find out guy?" She inquired.

"Well, you will be joining MERCADO UNIVERSITY three months from now."

Aqua threw her knife towards Ace but he ducked in time.

"Anything to do with the war dummy."

Well according to what happened to Aqua they concluded that the war separating the demons and the human world was growing thinner and thinner thanks to the help of the witches.

They helped her on her feet as they moved from the forest towards Mari city.

Aqua told both of them that during their separation she had accidentally fallen in a portal and landed in the realm of darknoss. The trio had been sent to the forest to destroy some witches who had been on a killing spree in the city to conduct the spells.

Adiel opened a portal back to their training grounds and Klein who was their mentor assisted Aqua and did a first Aid on her injuries.

"You know Jade instead of staring at her like she has grown another head you should help her?" Ace commented the dumbstruck look on Jade's face.

"I'm really glad that I don't have to perform field work. You look so pathetic Aqua."

"Thank you for your genuine talk Jade. "

"You are so welcome. What are friends for?"Jade went towards Aqua and offered to take her to the healing bath as her wounds we're healing too slowly by themselves.

Adiel explained everything that took place in their Mission. They had been able to kill most of the witches but four of them were able to escape due to the intervention of the hunters who started to attack the trio leading to their separation.

"You were supposed to kill all of them without mistakes but you failed your assigned mission, the higher ups wouldn't be happy with it." Klein left with those words and entered the building.

Ace and Adiel decided to go to the cafeteria and get some blood to replenish themselves. As they entered the same building. Ace started to steal glances at Adiel with his dark red eyes as they entered the corridors . He let out an inaudible sigh.

"Ace if you have something to say just say instead of ogling at me." Say Adiel stared at him with similarly bored eyes. Ace rolled his eyes as he knew what he was just pretending like that he was getting what he was saying.

"Aqua of course she deserves the truth from you." Adiel paused in his tracks and stared at him.

"Why haven't you told her yer? Haven't you seen how hard she is trying to dig out about it? It will not end well with you if she finds out who you really are?"

"She is never going to find out if you don't tell her Ace." Adiel said as his brows furrowed at him.

"Bu... " Adiel glared at him causing him to shut up instantly. Ace gulped softly.

"Don't test my patience Ace. I hope you love your head attached to your neck. Don't you try to cross my lane. " Adiel diverted and went to his room and left Ace there.

Only then did Ace discover that he was not breathing.

'I just had to forget how scary this guy can be. I'll have to put that in my not to do mental list. Ace run his hands through his hair, calmed himself and entered the cafeteria.

" How was your mission Aqua, was it okay?" Jade asked her friend as she helped her to the healing bath so that her wounds would heal a lot faster.

"Well if fighting the witches, getting swallowed by a portal, finding yourself in the realm of darkness, meeting with you "beloved friend" who almost killed you can be termed as okay then I was totally fine?" Aqua answered as she rolled her eyes.
