Two days and a night in the Nightmare forest : Injected by a tree

Nighty-night concluded her empty threat and waited for someone to jump out of the woods and say, 'Gotcha!'. She waited and waited till the moon rose but she ended up being disappointed. Nighty-night couldn't sleep(normally 'cause she's the moon goddess) and she needed to get home before her sister did.

"Oh goodness! I'm so frustrated! I wish Felix was here...", she sighed. Suddenly, her face brightened.

"Silly me! I am the goddess of the moon. I could have left here the minute I got here...oh, actually I couldn't have 'cause the sun was still out and my sister controls it. Anyways, the moon is out now. It's my turn!", she declared and smirked.

She glowed silver and the net dissolved into ash. She brushed the ash off her body then snapped her fingers. Immediately,a hologram of Felix, her saber-toothed tiger cub appeared, he was sleeping and looked very comfortable. "Psh... you couldn't even stay up for me."

Nighty-night commented but smiled.

"You look so cute", she said and smiled warmly. "I guess I'll have to count you out.", she said again and snapped her fingers, Felix disappeared.

After thirty minutes...

"Ah...I am most delighted by your work, my friends. I shall gladly hitch a ride on this...this...this thing of yours", Nighty-night said and gave a fake smile. She eyed the 'thing' that the animals made. It was just a pile of nests, really.

"Excuse me while I...excuse myself", Nighty-night said again, gave another fake smile and walked away.

She walked for about thirty minutes until she saw a treehouse. It was simply magnificent. It was painted silver and somehow, it was balanced in the tree.

"Oh joy! Refuge at last", Nighty-night exclaimed. She took the form of herself when she was younger and skipped off towards the treehouse. She got closer and closer but she never seemed to be able to reach the house. It seemed to have invisible legs. After a while, she was exhausted so she stopped beside a tree and rested.

"This girl form is too weak...in my real form, I'd never get tired. Now I'm too weak to change back! Mother! I shall never forgive you for this!I should be in the comfort of my moon fortress but, no! I'm out here 'hiking'! Hmph!", Little Nighty-night grunted.

After fifteen minutes...

"I give up! This is where the moon goddess' glorious younger self resides. I'll live here! This should be fun...I still have enough power to send the animals on errands. Maybe this is not so bad after all.", Little Nighty-night beamed.

"Animals! Come out, come out, wherever you are! Princess Moonbeam is here to use you...I mean enslave you...no, be your friends.", She said and gave a wide smile. No animal came out. Not even a owl hooted. But Little Nighty-night sure got attention.

Pairs of red eyes shot open and stared at her. The faint moonlight helped in concealing their bodies. Only their blood red eyes were visible.

"Uh...I think I'm in the wrong place so I'm just gonna...run!", she decided and ran.

The things were way faster than her but she saw their blurry figures move and stop way in front of her. She realized that running was not an option so she tapped her bracelet in a pattern. She waited anxiously and a very annoying familiar voice answered.

"Hello, this is the Silden Castle, who is this...loser! I'm home, sucka! In your face! You're so smart, right? Save yourself from your own creatures. Remember when you experimented on humans with Felix's drool and some stuff. Those creatures are right there in Nightmare forest. Ta-ta, catch ya later!", Shiney mocked and hung up the call. She turned to leave and was met by a very angry mom.

"Uh...mom, hey...whatcha doin'? Girls' night out? I'm up! I'll go get some supplies.", she said and hurried off.

"Get back here, now!", The queen yelled.

"Yes?You wanna gimme a hug?", Shiney said and gave a wide smile.

"No! Go down to Nightmare forest and bring your sister back! Go now!", The queen yelled at Shiney.

"Okay, okay, fine! Hmph!", Shiney grunted as she stomped away.

"Did I hear a grunt?", The queen inquired with a brow raised.

"Uh...*clears throat*...certainly not. Just got some *clears throat* stuff in my...", Shiney lied.

"Whatever. Just go get your sister.", The queen said and disappeared.

"Of course, go get your sister.", Shiney mimicked her mom terribly and made faces while she walked towards the door. She opened it and glanced out towards the starry sky. "Ah...the night...I hate it!", she looked down at the human world and folded her arms then jumped down. In the air, she shrunk to human size and landed on her feet...in mud or so she thought. She tried to wipe the stain off her golden sneakers magically but her hands just glittered and the sparkle faded. She stomped her feet angrily and caused the mud to splash onto her golden jacket.

"Argh! I'm only doing this under mom's command if not, I'd leave you to the hands of the 'Felix monsters', you monster!", Shiney yelled into the night.

"You don't deserve it at all...", she continued.

"I've always tried to be the best sister even when you act like a jerk but you are always bent on frustrating me and ruining my reputation. I had patience for long but I ran out of it when you killed that human. You are a monster, Moonbeam, a monster!", Shiney yelled louder with tears welling up in her eyes.

She wiped her eyes roughly and sniffed.

"You don't deserve my tears", she mumbled and started walking quietly.

After what seemed like eternity...

"Gotta...escape...can't...go...on...", Little Nighty-night managed to say between gasps. She tripped over a medium sized rock that definitely wasn't there initially. She fell and her right ankle got badly injured. She managed to stand up and she limped away weakly. She felt her fragile little body getting weaker but she persisted until dawn. The sun was already rising. She stopped and looked back only to discover that the creatures were no longer around. They were probably gone since the break of dawn but she was too scared to stop, at least not in their territory. She touched her wrist in a bid to try to contact home again but her bracelet was gone. "Argh!", she growled.

She proceeded to move forward but the tree next to her suddenly came to life. It spoke in a woman's voice. "A life for a life. Powers for powers. I shall make you cower!", she yelled.

A needle-like branch grew out of nowhere and pricked little Nighty-night. Her eyes rolled back into her head and she fell backwards. The tree gave a loud evil laugh and suddenly became lifeless again.

In another farther part of the Nightmare forest...

"Nighty!", Shiney yelled. Her voice echoed into the forest.

"What a sore loser, couldn't even survive long enough to die where her body could be found easily, stupid.", she murmured.

"Seriously! You're powerless now, huh? Couldn't even survive a night in the Nightmare forest? Your creation?! You're hopeless!", Shiney yelled again, this time with tears welling up in her eyes. She sat on a huge tree stump to rest when something hard and round pricked her hip. She stood up immediately and grabbed it. She examined it and it turned out to be a silver bead from her sister's bracelet. "Oh no!", she murmured and ran in the direction to her right.

"Don't be dead, don't be dead! I need to take revenge for my boots!", she murmured to herself as she ran.

The faster she ran the more the sun glowed, heat was emanating from her as she increased her speed. She didn't stop for once to catch her breath. When she arrived at crossroads, she didn't hesitate to veer to different directions, it was as if she had studied the Nightmare forest.

Finally, she saw a small human girl lying at the foot of a tree unconscious...or so she seemed.
