#Chapter4 September 17th

Literature class was somehow exciting. We studied some of Shakespeare's works, some of which are 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' and the classic 'Romeo and Juliet.' The teacher was also planning on hosting a play about Romeo and Juliet, but she needs all the students to audition to find out if she's still going to continue the play.

I love Literature, and I certainly love William Shakespeare's works but, I am such a bad actor yet, I am a good liar. I left Literature class, and Logan was still following me like a dog trying to follow its owner. I stop in my tracks, turned my heels around to look at him. He flashes me a smile,

/"Look, if you are trying to annoy me like what your friend did to me, good job! You did well,/" I said as I let out the annoyance that I have been bottling up for the last 35 minutes.

Out of all places and vacant chairs that he could sit at, he chose to sit next to me at Literature. /"Wow! Cayden was right that something got your panties in a twist or maybe, someone?/" He says as I roll my eyes at his response and just chose to ignore him again.

/"I don't think that's appropriate to say to a girl who is in a bad mood,/" Amelia interjects as I agree with her but didn't utter any word from my own mouth.

We all enter the next class. Surprisingly, the guys that I saw earlier from the Cafeteria were all there, including the annoying guy himself, Cayden. He spares me a glance and rolls his eyes as he plasters a smirk; I sat down in front of him since it was the only vacant seat there is that is near to the board.

/"You still owe me an apology,/" He whispers into my ear as I turn my head to look at him, and he sits down properly in his chair.

/"You owe me an apology./"

We both gave each other angry looks, and before I could throw a punch and destroy his face. A blonde girl, who goes by the name of Katie, stands in the middle of our face-off. She turns her back on me, and I don't even know what she is doing to Cayden right now, and then she suddenly turns her head to me. She sent me an icy cold stare as I gave her one as well.

/"You don't get to look at my man like that,/" She says, making me roll my eyes at her response.

/"If I am even your man, which I am not,/" Cayden interjects our conversation, and I snicker at his response to her. Katie turns her head to look at Cayden as he rolls his eyes at her. Is she trying to give him the puppy eyes?

/"Alright, class, settle down,/" The teacher arrives as she placed down all of her stuff on her table. She grabs a whiteboard marker inside her bag and starts writing something on the board, /"Get your textbooks and turn to page 17./"

I think it was clear enough to realize that she wrote her name on the board. Brenda Evans, she's black, her height is like 5'6 or maybe 5'5, her hair had an ombre effect of black and blondish brown, and she had an hourglass figure. Ms. Brenda started writing some stuff on the board again as she starts flipping through the pages of our Chemistry book.

Since I do not have a Chemistry book with me, Amelia lets me share her own book with me.

***

Ms. Brenda is already giving us a project to work on, and it needs to be done by Friday, and we haven't even started a discussion yet there's already a project? This is too much for a senior high student to take in, especially when it is just the first day of school.

/"I will be assigning your partners, so you clearly have no choice. Whether you like it or you like it if you don't—which is neither of the options—our classroom door is always open for you to leave./"

Talk about being strict on the first day. I look at Amelia as she smiles at me. At the corner of my eye, I caught Katie's cold stare. I spare Katie a glance as she cocks her right eyebrow at me.

/"Amelia Ryder and... Jack Flynn,/" Ms. Brenda said as she started reading a sheet of bond paper. I look at Amelia as she stood up from her chair as waves me a sad goodbye. Next to a guy named Jack Flynn, she sat down as I see her mouth open, mumbling something to him. She's probably letting him know her name.

I look back at Ms. Brenda, waiting for my name to be called next, /"Katie Lynn and Noah Williams,/" I hear Katie whine when she didn't hear Cayden as her partner.

/"Hailey Jones and Cayden Anderson,/" My eyes widen when I heard his name next to mine. I cursed inside my head. This has got to be a joke.

/"Looks like we are partners, doll face,/" I hear Cayden whisper in my ear. I turn my head back to look at him as he smirks at me playfully. This is a living nightmare.

Amelia and I left Chemistry class after. Cayden, my partner, doesn't even care about the project at all. He didn't even contribute anything or shared his thoughts about it; I'm starting to think that this school year will be more challenging than I thought.

On the other hand, Logan stopped following me, which is a good thing because he is so loquacious, but I have no problem with that; it's just... I have no words to reply to him. He keeps on asking questions and shares his thoughts too much.

We walked towards my locker to return the notebook I have used in Chemistry. I closed my locker, and Amelia offered to walk me to my next class, Arts. As soon as Amelia leaves for her next class, I entered the classroom, sat down at the very back, and a few minutes passed by, the teacher enters the room.

/"Please grab some paintbrushes at our shelves and one poster paint, choose a color that would best represent yourself,/" The teacher said as she smiles. We all stood up and grabbed some art materials on the shelf; the door opens, and all our heads turned at the door.

Girls started whispering, some started fangirling. I looked over and saw Cayden enter the room. The teacher looks at him as he stood by the door, /"Had to run some errands,/" he said as an excuse.

/"Just grab a paintbrush and a poster color that would best represent you,/" Mrs. Hudson said as he walked over to the back to put his bag down, he was sitting beside me! He walked over the shelf as the girls continue to whisper from ear to ear.

I grabbed a red poster paint because red is my favorite color. Suddenly, someone decides to go for the same color. I looked at the hand and said to the person while looking over, /"I got this first./"

It was Cayden, again. /"No, I had it first,/" Cayden says as he gives me a serious face. He looks scary when he plasters that kind of face. It actually screams dangerous and asshole.

/"It's mine,/" I said as I grabbed it towards me, but he won't give it.

/"As far as I know, your name is not written here, so it's not yours,/" He says as he grabbed the paint towards him as I hold onto the paint tighter. We started fighting over the paint, and suddenly, I accidentally dropped it on his shirt as the paint drips down on his jeans and onto his shoes.

He looks at me with an angry look as I plaster an awkward smile. The students in the classroom looked at us, and some started laughing. Mrs. Hudson stood up from her desk. /"What is happening over there?/"

/"What the fuck?! My shoes! Do you know how expensive this thing is and how valuable it is to me?!/" He cursed at my face and screamed. Mrs. Hudson walked towards us and inspected the scene.

/"It's just shoes,/" I said, and he looked at me. His face turned madder when I said those words. /"You can just buy a new pair?/" I said slowly, and my voice started getting low by the time his face turned even madder.

/"To you, it's just a fucking shoe! These are valuable to me!/" He said as he continues to scream at me. He needs some milk.

/"Mr. Anderson, watch your language!/"

He rolled his eyes at the teacher and walked over to his seat, grabbing his bag on the floor. /"Fuck this,/" he says before leaving the room.

I should be the one asking him what got his panties in a twist. Earlier, he was trying to be a bright annoying freak, and the second we met in the Cafeteria and at our fourth or fifth period, his aura became dark, just like in a snap of a finger.

Maybe he has those two personality thingies.

The dismissal came by, and I haven't seen Cayden anywhere after what happened. I don't know why he got so mad about me, accidentally pouring red poster paint at his shoes. His shoes were expensive, but it was old and dirty, he should thank me for accidentally running red color on it to replace those.

/"Hey! What's up with that face?/" Amelia says as I look at her with a serious look on my face.

/"I accidentally poured red paint at Cayden's clothes, including his shoes,/" I said as I sigh.

/"Oh no! First, your pizza got stuck on his shirt, leaving grease on it. Second, you poured red paint on his clothes. What's next?/" Amelia says as I shrugged my shoulders. I am so clumsy.

My phone vibrates, and I grabbed it inside my pocket. I unlocked it and saw a message from Ethan.

Ethan \<3:35 pm, Monday\> Hailey...

Ethan \<3:35 pm, Monday\> We need to talk. I need to tell you something.
