Discussions and plans

I waved at Dwight's cabbie as he drove away for the last time today. Fire and I stood outside the town house mansion of Dr. Blair. I took in the scent of the wind around me. She was here. Looks like I wouldn't have to do much searching any longer.

I looked to the door to see Dr. Blair open the door and frown at me and Fire. I nodded to him. "Evening, Sir. I'm on a job at present. You have of a lovely home Sir." I told him. I sniffed the air and searching around.

Fire took off down the street without looking back Dr. Blair didn't bother looking at her leave. He nodded to me. "Indeed would you care to come in to talk a bit." He said to me.

I nodded and felt something drawing closer. It wasn't going to long the question still remained how was I going to heard her toward location away from endangering the children.

"Mr. Sage." Dr. Blair waved me forward to enter the mansion.

I nodded to him and quickly walked inside standing in the hallway. Dr. Blair closed the door behind him locking it and looked at me.

"I got a message from one of my seconds and a list of instructions from him. What's this about Mr. Sage?" He asked.

I straightened up. "I got a job from my sister Angela Wells today to handle a case about some witch that's gone rogue. I've been tracking her all damn day. She tried to kill your kids with a curse the mage-born asked me to hunt her down and Angie to finish her. She's close here and think she's setting up to attack your kids. That's why I asked Dwight to help me with drawing her out." I said.

Dr. Blair nodded his head slowly. "What's her name? Did Lady Wells give you a reason for this insanity from one of their own?" He said.

Lady Wells. Now that was interesting bit of information but all together unexpected about Angie. I nodded. "They didn't give her a reason to tell me but Angie told me she had a guessed the lady has finally lost her mind from old age. Her name's Mabelle Warden. I was informed she is a white witch." I said.

Dr. Blair nodded his head. "I know her in passing the old bitter spinster and I never got on well. She's finally fallen down to a case of brain rut. She used to take up with the old leadership before I killed my uncle and took over. This might have something to do with my mother as well. Alright. Keep with your plan. You have to draw her out though. When you do Lady Wells will show up and take over the rest. As per your instructions I've had it appear as if my family and I are here for the Weekend and0-" He said but he was cut short as the place exploded around us and the building was leveled to the ground around me.

A gentle hand the scent of Angie touched my face and I came awake. I looked up at her but I couldn't hear anything because my ears were still ringing from the expulsion. Angie frowned and then touched my ears with her hands.

My ears were popped and I could hear everything sharply instantly. I groaned looking around at the wreakage around me. I moved my head around then I caught the scent of Mabelle. She was close.

Angie noticed the change in me. I gave her look and she nodded and stepped back. I saw Mr. Blair in only his burn dress shirt and ripped trousers. He looked down at me and helped me up to my feet.

I caught his a hold on his forearm and looked at him. "Thanks for your Highness." I said and squeezed his forearm.

Dr. Blair eyes lite with understanding. He nodded. "Your welcome. It was a close call. You better head to the Crossroads. Sorry you couldn't finish your job." He said meaningfully.

I nodded and started to looking around at the guardsmen and a few were-wolves around. I caught sight of Erica and Fire who were held back by the city guardsmen as they looked at me in surprise.

I ignored them as I followed my nose to where that old crazy witch was hiding she was close now. I kept sniffing around around and let go of Dr. Blair's hand and started moving around unsteady. Both Dr. Blair and Angie were close to me waiting to make a move.

I looked among the on lookers outside the wreckage. She wasn't there. She was closer. She was here and waiting to make a move. I kept my gaze traveling. She was here. I knew she was.

Her scent was heavily masked in magic and the scents of the wreckage but I was going to find that crazy old bitch. Guardsman tried to pass me but I reached out quickly catching his arm as I almost fell. I caught the scent of madness and heavy magic power. Holy shit!

The guardsman tried to steady me and then pull away but I held on to him. I looked at him and smiled. "Mabelle. That's a nice mask your wearing but I still caught you." I said. I felt a thrill of victory. Though I couldn't beat him I had brought her ass out of hiding and caught her.

The man frowned at me shaking his head. "I'm not-" He began but Angie draw her shot gun and blasted him the chest.

The bitch streamed a high pitched monstrous scream that sent a shockwave of power out that push everyone back. She attempted to shake off my hold as she disappeared. I held on to her as I felt her slice my back with nails dug deep into my skin drawing blood. But I held as attempted to fly away.

I draw my revolver and shot her body dragging her back down. I kept my hold on her as Dr. caught a hold of her other arm and penned her down with his body as Angie took out her sword and stabbed her in the chest nailing her to the ground.

"Get back!" Angie commanded as lightning strikes rained down on the witch's body around us.

I finally let go of the witch. My energy was gone and I couldn't move. I felt strong hands grab my ankles and drag me away from the lightning show as the old witch cried out still alive and fighting to stay alive as Angie did her damn hardest to finish her off. One of the lightning hit me in the chest and cried out in pain.

"Shit! Get my brother out of here!" Angie yelled at whoever was dragging me away.

"Damn it! Wells! How long is this shit going to take?" I heard a male asked.

"She's an elder. It's going to take a lot to bring her down. Give me time." Angie said.

"Shit!" A male said.

"Stop the lighting strikes. It's not working. Take off her damn head." Fire roared at Angie.

I heard the old bitch scream out as something was punched into her body. "I'll hold her down. Take off her head Lady Wells. Quickly!" Dr. Blair said.

I heard the old bitch roar out one last time before her voice was cut short and at last her scent had turned into the cold stench of death. I finally relaxed. "She's dead. Thank goodness." I said before finally giving into the pain and falling into a dreamless sleep.

I don't know how much time pasted I just knew the second I was in a whole lot of pain. I smelled Erica and Fire in the room. I was in a soft bed. I knew I was in the crossroads. Erica came into my vision. She was dressed in a thin blue sleeping gown along with Fire how stared at me with a looked that told me I looked like shit.

I would have smiled but I couldn't work up the energy. "Just give a few hours love and I'll be ready to give you a good time in the sheets." I said.

They shook their heads at me. Fire touched my cheek and felt a calm bit of healing that dulled my beating headache at present.

"Your going to be down for a few weeks. That was the stupidest thing I have ever seen anyone do. You should have let that bitch go." Fire said.

"I completely agree." Erica said.

I shook my head. "No. I couldn't allow that bitch to leave. She was a shape shifter. Nothing in the damn files or my menu case information knew to share that bit of information with me. The only reason I caught her this time was because she couldn't mask her magical scent or madness well enough and don't you dare try to tell you wouldn't have gone after her when she tried to kill me." I said.

Both females had the good grace not to lie to my face but they still looked pissed off at me for almost getting myself killed.

"I still think you should have let her go anyway. It wasn't necessary to endanger yourself like that. That bitch was insanely power." Erica said.

Fire nodded her head leaning against my shoulder. "I still can't believe that little dark hair witch killed that immortal mage-born." She said.

I shook my head. "I can. She's one of the top strongest in Drakescape. She's Lady Wells by the way." I said.

Fire shook her head. "Only a full or half-breeds of Draconian blood can have nobility status or someone married to them. Last time I checked she's a mage-born." She said.

"Who told you the Wells female is a Lady?" Erica asked.

I nodded my head. "His Majesty did." I said.

They stared at me in surprise. "She's Draconian Lady?!" They said in sharp surprise.

I nodded. "Yes. Just like I said." I said.
