Getting a god or goddess to take you into their familia was harder than I expected. I didn't know that level 1's, which was what I was due to not having falna, had a hard time getting into familia.

I wasn't a nerd back on earth, but I did do some reading, and watching, so I knew quite a bit about different mythologies. Like greek, roman, norse, etc.

The best familia was what I was aiming for, but it was impossible to get in. I went to the Loki familia first. I already had some ties with them and didn't think they seemed to serious from how they were in The Hostess.

I was shot down quickly though. "Listen kid I'd love to take Mordred into my familia," Loki was saying as I cut her off.

"Mordred and I you mean right?" Loki didn't answer as she continued, something tells me she didn't mean the both of us.

"Anyway, I would love to take her in but both of you are simply too weak, I only accept level 2's and more right now, we're going to be going on an expedition soon and we don't need anyone less than that."

With that I was treated to a swift kick to the ass from Bete and told good luck on my journey. I don't think that furry head bastard meant it though.

Next I went to the top ranked familia, it didn't seem too hard to get in, I mean so many guys were in that familia I was hoping Lady Freya would just accept anyone.

I thought wrong, a bulky muscular man with spiky black hair stopped me from even walking through the door. "Lady Freya is enjoying some time alone at the moment, I will ask you to return, don't."

With that stiff response I was thrown away again, rejected by the two top familia's in the city, didn't they see my potential! No, of course they didn't, cause I had none.

I hate to admit it but without the weapons or the training Mordred put me through I would be nothing. I wasn't even that muscular, Gah! That man from the Freya familia was really muscular! I envy that bastard!

And so, for the next hour I scoured the city for gods or goddesses looking for people to join their familia. I guess an important time was coming up for all of them, Even though I only managed to get to 3 actual gods to ask.

I guess it was just one of those times where everyone was working great and they didn't need any extras, though it was dissapointing to say the least, but that's just how it is sometimes.

With this I had wasted my morning, at least it was time for lunch, The Hostess has good food, and I had money.

I had found out the stones I had collected from the goblins crumbling to dust were the same stones from the dungeon, meaning I could turn them all in for money.

"Lunch! Give me food!" The childish voice of Mordred drew me away from my idle thoughts as I got back from the guild, along with a small bag of coins called Valis, 100,000 worth.

I didn't want to trade in all of the stones just in case I found another use, who knows what I could do with them, as the main character in this game I'm sure there's a lot I can do that other's can't.

"No money No food, Unless Ashton is payin~ Then Mama Mia says order as much as you can!"

Before Mordred could cheer and order the entire menu I called out. "Mordred! Syr! It's fine, I have money, let's eat!" I yelled, drawing the attention of the two girls.

Syr, the silver haired girl that seemed to draw my eye to her whenever she talked, smiled cheekily. It seems she had seen me and made that comment out of spite.

Mordred on the other hand seemed almost dissapointed I was there, but that quickly went away when I held up the bag of Valis and smirked at her.

She knew what this meant, It was kind of like an inside joke we had. Anytime the other had food this was basically our signal, we had been doing it every night since we started hunting against each other. I guess it was more of a challenge than anything.

"You're on!" Mordred yelled and pushed past the confused Syr. "Don't bothr asking, just get two huge plates of potatoes, we should start light."

With this Mordred and I began our feast, first the steamed potatoes, then sandwiches, then we had meat that tasted like steak, then some kind of salty food I couldn't name, then we finished off with a bit of everything.

"Ugh... You win," I finally said in defeat, my stomach feeling as if it was going to stretch and explode. Mordred seemed done as well, so I guess I couldn't fully count it as a loss.

"Ah... Alright, so what's the plan!" Mordred said sitting up fully recovered. I smiled at this and did the same, stretching a bit as Syr, An elf woman named Ryuu, and the cat girl worker I hadn't learned the name of yet, all cleared the plates.

"So, we need to find a god or goddess to recieve our Falna, then we can become adventurers and get rich!" I explained enthusiastically, seeing that Mordred was getting excited as well.

"An adventurer!? You? HAHA look ladies, the little boy wants to be a man!" Mama Mia yelled from the back, causing me to jump up from my chair in challenge.

"Yeah! And what of it? I can be a better adventurer than anyone here!" I yelled confidently, I hadn't gone full strength against Mama Mia earlier since she's human, I'd show them once I started fighting monsters, killing those bastards was easy.

"Hm? I don't know about that Mr... What's your last name again Ashton?" Syr suddenly said, snapping me out of my anger as I looked toward her.

I didn't know what to say, my last name? Did I pick the one mom used? It's not like I ever knew my father... Wait, maybe this was apart of the character customization!

I had already chosen my first name so choosing my last name would finish it off. This was perfect timing actually, especially since I was going to find a familia today.

"Morningstar!" I yelled out. I used it mainly due to my favorite show to watch back in America on earth, Lucifer on Netflix. He was cool, and Morningstar sounded cool enough for a character.

"Ok, I don't know about that Mr. Morningstar, Mama Mia used to be an adventurer herself~" Syr finished her earlier statement, resuming the cobversation.

This came as a shock to me. My biggest enemy used to be my current goal? Then what was the point of even becoming an adventurer if everybody and their mom had done it before. Oh wait, Money.

"So what, I'll be a better adventurer than her! I'll show all of you!"

My personal grudge with The Hostess workers was one sided, I figured this out not too much later when they helped me get out of something I never should have gotten into...

...

"Ah, Ottar I'm still not fulfilled... Come here," Freya called. After waiting for a short while she used her soul vision to see where he was. "Hm?"

Freya saw something she didn't expect, being able to see souls was one thing, that added with being a goddess and she could see through walls just fine.

So why did she a huge light overshadowing the entire palace?

It only took a few minutes for the light to vanished, almost walking away from her palace, she didn't understand for a while until someone familiar walked into her room.

His spiky black hair tied back by a red headband. "What was that Ottar?" She asked as she stopped looking at souls. He seemed thrown off before assuming she had seen him turn away the weak boy at the door.

"It was nothing lady Freya, just a child not knowing what he was getting into, he was weak s it's not a loss."

'So that light... Was a child?... How interesting, Just like the boy from earlier, There are so many interesting people here in Orario now...' Freya thought to herself with a smile as she dropped her robe, giving the signal for Ottar to come closer.

Little did Ashton know that his life in Orario would change drastically, and all because of a bandage that he didn't know was unlocking...
