The Seventh Floor

"Nyang!" As if understanding what Alex implied with his words, the kitten on his shoulder made a sound of affirmation with a low volume that only Alex could hear and leaped off from his shoulder and its existence began to slowly fade.

Since the beginning of the battle, the war shadows who attacked Alex hasn't known the existence of the Celestial Cat. Not noticing that something was looking at them from the shadows.

Twitch, twitch. Twitch, twitch.

His small, chubby butt shook from side to side. The short paws were completely pressed against the floor. Alex who could still see his pet due to his connection with it, saw that shadows were oozing from it's body making it invisible to the onlookers.

Soon, the kitten who was in it's [Celestial Shadow Cat] form, jumped towards the war shadows who were focused at Alex. The sharp and small fangs gleamed in the darkness.

Due to being caught off guard, the war shadows weren't able to block or show any form any resistance at the cat's paw swiping at them. Using it's innate ability [Celestial Scratch], the shadows that forms in its sharp claw slashed the vitals of the war shadows.

Without the war shadows realizing, the Celestial Cat of Alex landed its first blow. Landing it's attack successfully, it followed up by releasing a growl.

[Your pet, '???' has activated "Celestial Snarl" causing the stats of nearby targets to decrease by 25% for 30 seconds.]

Hearing the roar of the Celestial Cat, all the designated targets momentarily froze and slowed down on their movements. Not missing the gap, the Celestial Cat fired the shadows that took form of the knives around him straight towards the weakened war shadows.

Using a magic spell [Shadow Knives] that it could only use during its form of [Celestial Shadow Cat], the war shadows vanished without a trace only leaving its magic cores.

Turning it's predatory glare towards the frog shooters, the Celestial Cat lunged straight and it bit the nearest frog shooter and bared his fangs.

"Nyaang!"

Activating [Celestial Gnaw], the kitten ferociously bit it with it's sharp teeth making the bitten frog shooter to screech in agony and let out a pained scream and fell to the floor. Unable to withstand the sharp fangs that has some deadly shadows coated with it, the frog shooter followed the deaths of the war shadows.

Moving towards the next target, its claws became faster and stronger. The frog shooters found it difficult to avoid, and tried to defend by shooting its long tongue.

Pahat!

Suddenly, the shadows rose like a wave. Using their agile nature, the frog shooters tried to avoid it, but it was impossible. The speed of the shadows was too fast.

Kwack!

The bodies was pressured by the shadows. Alex who was carefully watching everything that took place, was amazed about the performance of the Celestial Cat.

"It deserves to be a legendary pet."

Using the [Celestial Cat's Transformation] of it's form [Celestial Shadow Cat], the Celestial Cat could control shadows beyond mere attacking and defending.

Also, just like an experienced expert assassin, all of its movement were swift and lethal only targeting the vital spots that guaranteed critical attack damages dealing the maximum damage it could to the designated target leaving no chance to fight back.

This wasn't a normal cat. Alex noticed it's peculiarities. There were small horns on the forehead and short wings on the back while its pitch black fur was constantly surrounded by the shadows.

Even with his sharingan active, he could only see the silhouettes of the Celestial Cat. To him who had enhanced his perception by his sharingan could see things at slower pace yet the Celestial Cat's speed couldn't be seen clearly by his eyes.

"This is just the Celetial Shadow Cat's form."

Alex muttered to himself remembering that his pet has still several forms which had different sets of abilities depending on the form's attribute.

In this world, the strong reigns supreme. To have a strong familiar, it could also boost his individual strength.

"Maybe with this partner, I could continue living in a carefree manner. Casually going to the dungeon without worries which the gods could not do."

Many things immediately ran into his mind like using the cuteness of his pet to bait many girls but immediately decided to shook the thoughts off.

"Well it's not like I wanted to become the strongest anyway. Simply having strength could give me a beneficial effects for my casual and carefree life."

These past years of living in Orario, Alex had discovered that there's a possibility of him to ascend back and attain his godhood. The possible method was to level up past to level 10 which no one had ever done based on this world's history.

In the past when the Zeus and Hera Familias were still active, they had a Level 8 and 9 adventurer respectively but there's no mention that somebody had achieved past those levels which was currently regarded as an unknown territory but Alex wasn't really interested about it.

He doesn't aim to return of being a god. He just wanted to live a carefree mortal life and do what mortals do like having some goals and ambition to fulfill which would make him live as a mortal to the fullest.

Meow!

Alex snapped off his daze hearing the Celestial Cat which had already returned in his shoulders, rubbing its furry head at his face as if it was asking to be praised.

"Well done. I'll treat you more foods when we return.*

Hearing it made a sound again, Alex couldn't help but think of how cute his partner is. Moving on, Alex continued massacring the monsters in the sixth floor looking for the clue for his quest and mission but sadly, he couldn't find anything on this floor.

Deciding to go to deeper floors, Alex proceeded towards the seventh floor. After moving on, Alex reached the end of the sixth floor.

Crack!

When he reached the entrance of the seventh floor, the walls cracked giving birth to several monsters. One after another, hideous monsters emerged out of the wall.

Killer Ant. A red ant monster with four legs and two arms. It has a hard shell and has high attack and uses pheromones to attract companions in a pinch. Along with War Shadow, it is known as "newbie killer" for killing a lot of newbie adventurers.

It is very tricky for a newbie adventurer to deal with them. Before they can break the monster's defense, it is easy for the adventures to get hurt by the claws.

Newcomers, who are used to fighting weaker monsters in the upper floor, often ended up being killed by killer ants because of underestimating it or the lack of preparation.

However killer ants wasn't the end. There were also a moth monster that can spread poisonous powder. The powder can cause poison if covered multiple times. A monster in the Upper Floors called Purple Moth. Also a butterfly monster that has four blue see through wings. It is a rare monster. In exchange for being unable to fight, the powder secreted from its wings has the ability to heal others and it is called the Blue Papilio.

The sharingan with a single tomoe stared at the horde of monsters with a serious glare. Analyzing the situation calmly, Alex saw a shadowy figure behind the group and saw that it was a lone war shadow but it somehow felt different from the usual war shadows.

However before Alex could clearly see it, the monster began to lunged towards him. Seeing them with his own eyes, Alex took a breath and spoke.

"Partner, tighten you grip and be sure to not fall off."

He threw daggers aimed at the monsters. Immediately, six flame pillars emerged from the ground.

"Fire Style: Fire Dragon's Fury!"

Six huge pillars of fire swirled in the air like a flight of Dragons. The pillars of fire indiscriminately attacked from all directions. Power, speed, and range. Nothing was lacking. The only downside of this magic was that it consumed a large amount of Mind. However, it wouldn't completely deplete the Mind of Alex who now immediately regenerated what he had lost in just a few seconds because of the skill he had bought.

[Due to a certain action, the spell, 'Fire Dragon's Fury' has been learned.]

Not looking at the notifications, while six pillars of flames rotated like the saw blades in a blender, Alex then moved so fast that only flashes of crimson lights were left behind.

Alex, who had been holding with only one short sword, pulled out a dagger. A dagger in his right hand and a short sword in his left hand. With insane speed, he drew his short sword in a diagonal line. Then he stabbed with his dagger. A light wound appeared on the monster's chest that wasn't in the range of Alex's spell. The short sword cut ferociously and the dagger stabbed and pierced any targets in landed to.
