1 Forgotten God

In a place where only darkness could be seen, an entity muttered.

『I'm bored. Very bored.』

In the vast space that has nothing in it, he a god, living in solitude and was filled with boredom as he had nothing else to do. If one would think about this, this was really unbefitting a god.

Gods are born from and through any wish made by humans and mortals. Gods are born to fulfill the wishes of humans, so they naturally fade away when they stop receiving wishes and therefore lose their purpose.

This doesn't necessarily mean that a God needs a large amount of followers to remember them in order for them to survive. He, a god had the last mortal remembering him.

When a god becomes forgotten that means the god has given up on his own divine throne and he has become an existence who can't be called a god anymore.

However what's unfortunate for that was, the only mortal who had remembered him was nearing his death. If that mortal were to die, he would die with him.

He was not afraid or bothered about death at all. For someone who had lived for eons, death was simply a concept that he didn't have any concern.

『Maybe that's even better.』

To end this endless cycle of him incapable of doing anything as he had lost his divinity or divine power the moment he was forgotten, he thought that death might even end his misery.

As the god was nearing his death, he also thought it won't be bad to try having fun for a while. With the experience of endless boredom, he thought he should try something for the last time of his life.

The idea of abandoning godhood and live as a mortal came into his mind. With that idea, he immediately developed a way to do this. A method that he had developed as no gods could ever think of this. To gods, becoming a mortal is their worst nightmare but for him who wasn't able to gloriously live how a god should be, he didn't care.

『No need to worry about saying goodbye to my divine body. I'm a forgotten god and not the strongest anyway.』

It could also said that he had become the weakest at this moment. With that, he decided to experience living as a mortal for a while before he would succumb to his death as his death was imminent anyway.

Even if a god is killed, the god will be resurrected through reincarnation if they are remembered. While they do retain the their base personality and many of their habits, there may still be subtle differences but that was not the case for forgotten gods like him.

For the forgotten gods, death would be their total disappearance just like how mortals died. Using the last bits of his divine power, he controlled his divinity to obtain the material to create the vessel of his incarnation.

The soul of a mortal. However, as he had a tiny amount of divinity left, he wasn't able to summon a soul in the astral plane, the place for the souls or the river of reincarnation. But luckily, even he had little amount of divinity, he was somehow able to summon two fragment of souls which wasn't 1/4 of a whole of a soul.

『This is enough.』

The forgotten god murmured in satisfaction as if only he was able to summon one fragmented soul, he wouldn't be able to continue as it would not be enough.

『Fragmented souls of Namikaze Minato and Uchiha Itachi.』

The forgotten god murmured as he grabbed the souls he had summon. He was then able to take a glimpse of the lives of the souls when they were alive.

『Intriguing. They were very capable mortals but suffered a tragic fate.』

As a god who had suffered an endless boredom, he doesn't have the emotion to show sympathy and pity towards the past lives of the souls in his hands.

Continuing the process, he proceeded as he added the last ingredient to make a mortal body with his remaining power.

『My ego.』

Forcefully combining the three components with his remaining divinity, the forgotten god looks forwards to the finish product. As the process was nearing it's completion, he noticed a problem.

『This body would simply disappear in this place.』

As it was a mortal body, it wouldn't last long in this empty space. With a snap of his finger, he send the created mortal body to a random world he could as he no longer have the power to choose it's destination.

With that, the mortal body he had created disappeared in his sight. For the first time in a while, the forgotten god smiled feeling a sense of accomplishment as he closed his eyes.

His body began to glow at the same time the moment he closed his eyes. Cracks appeared everywhere in his body as he no longer had any divinity that could keep his godly existence intact.

『Farewell Godhood.』

He muttered for the last time as his entire existence turned to dust and small particles of light in the vast space of emptiness and darkness. With that, the forgotten god who had existed for eons, is no more.

Opening his eyes, the first thing he saw was buildings that is unknown to him. Due to living in solitude, he wasn't able to encounter such things in his life.

Suddenly, he felt an intense headache as numerous thoughts flowed into his mind.

"Who am I?"

"Where am I?"

"What am I?"

It took a while for him to regain the clarity in his mind. However he still had no idea about his identity as he only had an idea that he was a former god, a forgotten one that abandoned his godhood to live as a mortal.

"Overall, I know nothing aside from that."

He calmly muttered. Opening his eyes, he scanned his surrounding and simply saw many people at a distance looking at him with pity.

As he didn't know anything, he didn't know what they are. Not just the people, but everything in his surroundings was unknown to him who had lived in an empty space of everlasting darkness devoid of light.

All he knew he had became a mortal and would now continue to live as one. He also somewhat knew he might be in a village or a town based some of the memories he had received from the fragments of souls he had merged with. As he was wondering what he was about to do, he heared someone talking to him.

"Hey child! Why are you dazedly laying in the trash bin?"

He simply looked towards where the voice came from. Even he knew nothing, he still had some of the basic knowledge and being a former god, he was able to understand the language.

'This one is a mortal? A male one at that. Maybe he doesn't seem a mortal?'

He was filled with doubts in his mind. He then heard that the man who called out to him sighed.

"Why is this 4 year old child simply looking at me? I know I'm handsome but please, don't look too much at me."

The man said sarcastically but he simply look at him with a intrigued look. Seeing him not responsive, the man's face became serious.

"Kid, what's your name?"

Having someone to talk for a long time, he decided to give a reply.

"I don't know."

"Eh?"

The man was surprised not expecting the reply. He decided to ask one more time to confirm his speculation.

"Do you remember anything?"

"I don't know."

The man's expression became grim hearing it from a child who had dazed expression when replying indicating he doesn't know anything.

'Maybe this child lost his memories.'

The man concluded as the location where the child in front of him was laying as a garbage bin where people throws their trashes which means, this kid might have experienced an intense violence which resulting him forgetting everything and was thrown in here.

Feeling pity towards the kid, he decided to introduce himself.

"Consider yourself lucky brat, I am the God of Time, Kronos. Nice meeting you."

"A god?"

He dazedly replied not expecting to first encounter a god instead of a mortal. As it had been a long time he had met one before, he had already forgotten about how their presences felt.

"Yes, I am a god."

Hearing his reply, he scanned his surroundings wondering how was it possible for him to meet a god when he has supposedly became a mortal.

"W-where am I?"

Kronos simply replied hearing the child's question.

"You're here in the Labyrinth City, Orario."

"Orario..."

He dazedly replied but he had no idea where or what that is. He simply didn't know anything aside from his past of enduring the endless solitude.

"You really doesn't know anything."

Kronos sighed as he spoke.

"It's decided then. I will take you with me. You see, I have just recently descended from the heaven just 3 days ago so I'm relatively new here. So let's live here now in Orario together."

He simply tilted his head wondering what Kronos was talking about.

"Well it would be pretty awkward to simply call you a child or brat so I guess I should give you a name."

Carefully looking at the child who has spiky bright crimson red hair and large eyes with vertical pupils the same color as his hair. He came up with a name that he thinks it would fit the kid.

"Alex...Your name from now on will be Alex Faust."

"Alex...Faust."

Alex murmured and smiled having an identity which he had lost long ago. With this encounter, Alex's journey and adventure in Orario has begun.
