32 Chapter Thrity-Two

"Come forth, strike faster than light! Arcane Ray!"

A beam of purple energy drilled through a purple moth, turning the monster to dust as Shohei, drew his Katana, cutting through the pitch-black body of a War Shadow in one strike and bringing down his blade to perform another one, decapitating the second one and sheathing his sword in one swift motion.

I observed them from behind, floating any magic stones into my pouch while keeping an eye on the surroundings.

My throwing knives were drawn as we moved deeper into the seventh floor.

My eyes scanned the floor one more time and moved forward.

Shohei drew his sword again, cutting through a needle rabbit and turning the monster's body to dust as I floated the magic stone to my pouch.

The descent was smooth so far and nothing went wrong, neither encountering a large horde nor another adventurer.

"Captain, what kind of monsters can we expect past the tenth floor?"

Ava asked randomly as we walked. Shohei's ear twitched and I knew he was listening too.

"Orcs, Imps, bad Bats, Hard armored, Silverbacks, and Infant dragons are the more dangerous ones."

She nodded and wrung her hands in nervousness. I hummed, observing her.

"Don't worry Ava, if anything happens, I'm here."

She visibly calmed down and nodded her head. It was kind of fascinating, how could someone be so shy, yet so focused in battle?

Ignoring the weirdness, I looked forward again, They were doing good for their third time dungeon diving, but I was still hesitant to let them go down alone.

My mana was still traveling to them, trying to establish the skill I wanted artificially.

The skill creation would take a few more days, but I could be patient.

"Huh... Thats weird..."

Hestia muttered, handing me my paper and sitting down next to me.

"What do you mean?"

I asked curiously, looking at the paper, nothing was unusual. And I got the skill I wanted, which was what I was aiming for.

"Your new skill... It's the only one that has a description..."

I hummed, looking at the skill... Odd...

Well, anyway.

"We can find that out later, however, the skill..."

I grinned, looking at it. The name was a bit much, but my desire to teach the two, and artificially create a connection to them with my mana worked out perfectly.

I turned and walked over to the window, looking down at the back yard to see my shadows teaching Shohei and Ava.

The shadow teaching Shohei was holding a katana, preforming a quick draw on a row of five dummies. Quickly drawing the blade, he swung, missing the first dummy by a hairs breath, and sending out a slash of mana, cutting the dummies behind the first one.

Ava on the other hand, was sitting on the ground, my shadow having a magic circle above his hand that replicated her own, showing her how to change the runes inside to make the magic more efficient.

"Is that why you asked me to write down Godly runes, Bell?"

I nodded. Some of the runes in her magic circle were Godly, meaning her parents or grandparents had a blessing and gained magic related to their god in some kind of way, through their desire, which the Falna interpreted.

Anyway, the runes in the magic circle were... to say it gently... Utter fucking shit. Seriously, I felt the need to throw up, what the hell was the magic of this world?

The amount of "Mind" taken from the user, instead of using mana from the surroundings to fuel the runes. In the way I do it, the only mana wasted was to create the magic circles, everything else was gathered from the surroundings.

Like... Seriously...

I sigh, rubbing the bridge of my nose. If I had this kind of reaction, I didn't want to know what Alex would think.

"Bell?"

I glanced at Hestia, who was standing next to me, looking down at the two with a small smile.

"Thank you."

I blinked, tilting my head slightly for a moment, and turned to the window again, not saying anything.

I breathed in and sighed again, turning around.

"I'll be going out for a while, got some things to do."

Hestia hummed in understanding as I exited the room. Reaching behind me, I pull up my hood, the enchantments on it covering my face in shadow a lot better than the hood itself could.

Feeling the boost in speed, I opened the window and dashed out of the building.

I had a bug to squash...

I'll try to dish out more words from this point on, I'm still trying to figure out the personalities of the two OC characters that I added on a whim...
