Danmachi: The Black Hole

Life was weird. And turns out, it could get weirder. Now, all I have to do is survive, no matter what it takes. Because no matter the world, there will always be one standing on the top, and that would be me. I would make sure of it. _ I don't own anything of the story, I just own the OCs if there will be any. Will diverge from Cannon eventually but some events will still happen if a little different.

Chapter Thirty-Six

Well, people did go all out for today huh?

"So this is the new moon festival, huh?"

Shohei muttered as the four of us walked down the street, Hestia and Ava were walking in front while the two of us were trailing closely behind, observing everything.

"Yeah, first time seeing it, looks fun..."

I shrugged, my hands in my pockets while I looked around absently, keeping an eye out for anything abnormal.

"Do you think the Freya Familia will try something?"

I shook my head, but despite that, I still kept an eye on everything.

"Not likely, they will probably keep low for a while and not get involved with us..."

Shohei nodded and looked forward again, keeping an eye out for the two girls with us. I hummed my eyes scanning the crowd and spotting Welf who was with a red-haired woman with one of her eyes covered.

I smirked, my eyes narrowing in amusement, teasing material gathered...

Chuckling, I left him with to enjoy his time with the woman, a goddess of all people.

I was happy for him, truly.

I hummed, spreading my senses further absently. My eyes widened, that was a moderate amount of Divine energy coming from the front... Did some god unlock their divinity?

My senses became Hyper aware of it, focusing on the source of energy for a moment, it wasn't a god... it was something else, it didn't feel alive.

An object, weapon, perhaps?

"Shohei, on alert, something is happening up front."

the werewolf tensed for a moment before his shoulders relaxed and gave a slight nod. My mana spread through my body in preparation.

It seemed like something was constantly happening in Orario, at least around me...

We continued walking, the two in front remaining unaware of what we were approaching. Slowly, the source of the Divinity came into view, a blonde man, wearing a fedora, and a cloak, shouting something into what looked like a magic stone on a stick.

"What's Hermes doing now?"

Hestia sighed, looking at the elevated stand, and finally, the source came into view, a silver spear, that looked like it would be pretty ineffective in combat.

Narrowing my eyes for a second, I observed it further, delving into its Divinity, and the runes around it... Pretty neat, and powerful, but nothing to take note of...

"So, it's that thing, huh?"

I whispered and Shohei looked over, raising an eyebrow at the scene.

"You mean, God Hermes, captain?"

I shook my head.

"That spear, use you're Chi to sense it like I thought you."

He nodded and narrowed his eyes for a moment before shaking his head.

"I sense something, but I can't make out what it is..."

I nodded, of course, he couldn't, I was intimately familiar with the feeling it gave off, a god's weapon... What was it doing in the lower world?

"Bell! Why don't you try it?"

I blinked and looked at Hestia with a raised eyebrow.

"Try what?"

She pointed at the god's weapon.

"Pulling it out, of course."

I blinked and looked at the weapon, where a man was trying, and failing to pull it out.

I hummed in thought and shrugged.

"Okay?"

I started walking towards the stairs, my eyes trailing to the side, meeting the golden orbs of Ais, who was walking closer, next to Lefiya.

"Hello, Bell."

I nodded, tilting my head to the side in curiosity, and motioned for them to go first.

Lefiya glared, for some apparent reason, maybe because of my sheer existence, and walked forward first, leaving me and Ais behind.

"... So, how have you been?"

I asked, looking as Lefiya grasped the speed.

"Good... No good spars, though..."

I chuckled glancing at her even as Lefia struggled to pull the spear out as Hermes hyped her up to no avail.

"Well, you can come to our house any time you want, we have a yard, and we can train there."

Her eyes lit up and her lips quirked up in a small smile as she nodded.

Lefiya predictably failed, and I motioned for Ais to go first and I watched with interest, the criteria to pull the spear out was unknown right now, I needed to look into the magic circles to figure that out, however, the way the Magic circles instantly shut off access the moment Ais clasped the shaft of the spear gave me clues.

Humming, I walked to the stairs, offering her a hand as she took it to walk down the stairs.

"...It's stuck..."

I chuckled, it wasn't stuck, it was just magic.

"Well, I'll give it a try..."

She nodded as I turned to the stairs, putting my hand back in my pocket.

"Well, well, well! If it isn't Bell Cranel himself! The record holder of the fastest consecutive level-ups! Give a round of applause to the rising star of Orario!"

Ignoring the applause that followed my ascend to the small podium, I walked over to the spear, narrowing my eyes at it, and reaching out with one hand, grasping the spear.

My mana pulsed, and so did my soul as I felt the power of the spear invading me, judging me.

I hummed, even as my own mana clashed with the spear's divinity, seeping into the magic circles and molding to them, overriding them.

A second later the crystals in the spear shattered as I raised the spear slightly.
