Danmachi: The Black Hole

Life was weird. And turns out, it could get weirder. Now, all I have to do is survive, no matter what it takes. Because no matter the world, there will always be one standing on the top, and that would be me. I would make sure of it. _ I don't own anything of the story, I just own the OCs if there will be any. Will diverge from Cannon eventually but some events will still happen if a little different.

Chapter Thirty-Four

-Bell POV-

"Oh? What's this?"

I asked, walking up to the scene on the upper floors, my feet were submerged in water slightly as I looked on at the fight in front of me.

My shadow, fighting off the strongest adventurer present in Orario and a giant skeleton monster that I haven't seen even on the lower floors... A new species, perhaps?

It was nothing to look at judging from the speed and power it displayed.

Blaze flared around my body, burning away the foreign blood on my right hand as I reached behind me to grab my daggers. Mana exploded from my feet, launching me forward as my dagger found its way into the shoulder of the Boaz. Twisting my body, I turned the stab wound into a hole as my leg sprung forward, kicking him to the side.

My shadow took this opportunity to run past me, leaving me to deal with the two opponents while he caught up to Ava and Shohei. As soon as my feet made contact with the ground, I jumped up, avoiding a claw swipe from the skeletal monster.

Blaze intensified, making me spin in the air as I sliced off the bone at the monster's elbow joint.

My feet found the ground again and my back bent at an unnatural angle, avoiding a bite that would have left me without my top half if I hadn't reinforced my body with mana.

"Silver moon's mercy, the golden wilderness.-"

I heard chanting and my eyes narrowed in annoyance as I twisted my upper body, my hands pressing to the ground, launching me away from the two.

My eyes found Ottar who was chanting and I sighed in annoyance, Blaze intensifying around my hand as I punched the monster in the jaw as it charged at me, shattering its mandible.

"This body is destined for the wild boar of the war.-"

I hummed in interest, what was he going to do?

"Run through, carry the goddess' will- Hildis Vini!"

I watched as his weapons glowed in golden light and his grip tightened around the handles, the wound I made seemingly healing.

And so, he charged and I spun the knife Hestia made for me in my hand, Blaze flaring at the challenge as another Shadow emerged from the darkness, distracting the monster as I watched the Boaz make his way to me, his twin greatswords raised.

A shout ripped from his mouth in exertion as I raised my dagger in response. Mana traveled throughout my body, enhancing the muscles that were utilized in a simple swing.

A loud boom ripped throughout the dungeon floor as the sound barrier was broken by the dagger and the Boaz's shout of exertion turned into a scream of pain.

I watched in silence as the giant clutched at his eye, staggering back in pain, disappointment filling my very being.

Did I need to go to lower floors to feel any sort of excitement for a fight? Maybe.

"Is that it?"

I asked, taking a step forward as the dying screams of the monster reached both our ears.

"Is that all you can do? And you had the gall to send those four to attack my students and me?"

I looked down on him, even if he was taller, he was so... small...

The Boaz looked up at me as I tilted my head to the side, and I could tell, I was feeling nothing but pity. This was the strongest?

"... Pathetic..."

His only remaining eye widened as if in recognition as I walked toward him.

"Come on, Heal, pull some quick chant magic, a power-up, a transformation."

I twirled my daggers in my hands.

"You have got to have some trump card in you're arsenal to take me on..."

All of this holding back would make me rusty, otherwise...

But, not hearing my silent pleas for a challenge, the Boaz continued to stare at me like he saw a ghost. Sighing, I raised a hand as Blaze flared.

Was it worth it? Killing him? I could deal with the Freya Familia, but it would bring too much attention to me...

The purple flame fizzled out as a magic circle formed and the Boaz was blasted back, the space between him and me artificially expanding.

Humming in disappointment, I turned around, shoving my hands in my pockets and walking off.

Walking past one of the shattered greatswords on the ground and heading to the floor exit.

I was aware of what the Boaz was doing, his heavy footsteps gave it away, and the shout that resounded through the dungeon floor was also a dead giveaway.

I turned around, spotting the Boaz charging at me, holding one of the shattered greatswords, mana flowed through my body as I swung up my dagger, and Blood splattered on the floor.
