Chapter 9: Exploring Orario

Ok, I don't think jerking off to a random girl I bumped into was something a sane person would do, and that's something.

You see, I am a sane man. I am regular, and though that might be different depending on how you define 'regular,' but I am not one to jerk off to a young girl. Especially not one that's fourteen years fucking old.

I am not a PDF file. Never had that thought. So, I knew something was wrong. 'Magic?' 100% 'Charm?' 1000%! That girl was not a regular creature, however, 'Hmm...' Something's not right.

I've been spying on her for a while, and by spying I mean I am completely hidden from view. No one can see me, since I've maxed out my stealth, so she hadn't been able to notice me. However, as I watched her, I noticed: She keeps her charm active at all times.

Yes, she is a girl that will be a beauty when she grows up, but she isn't good enough to make men fawn over her. She looked worse than that massive hunk of a woman, whose name I don't know. Yet, people keep salivating at the sight of her. Men, women.

And by men and women, I mean older men and women. And no one finds it strange? For grown men old enough to be my twin brother to be fawning over her. I didn't use the term 'old enough to be my father' because I am 48 and my father would be a lot older than these men and women if he was still alive.

Sadly, he died because... Wait, that's not the point.

"Yo, fam." I called out to a man, causing him to jump.

"Y-yes?" He stuttered, looking up at me. I can lightly hear his legs trembling, but I didn't turn my eyes away from the gray haired girl as I asked;

"What's the age of consent in this world?"

"W-what?" He didn't understand, so let me phrase it in a more 'medieval' term.

"How old does a girl have to be for me to be able to fuck her without people looking at me like I am wired."

"W-what?" He stuttered.

"English, motherfucker, don't you understand it?" I turned to him.

"I don't speak e-english..." He fainted, piss staining his trousers.

'...' I know I am a massive hunk of man with bulging muscles, but there is no way I am terrifying enough to cause someone to faint.

"If yer askin' for the age when marriage's fair game," a female voice came, "it's twelve."

"Twelve?" So fucking young. "Thank you—" As I turned to look back at the weird girl, I noticed something was blocking me. "Can you move out of the way, miss?" Why is she standing in front of me? The whole street is available.

"I ain't moving." The woman responded.

'Hmm...' She is rather brave for standing in front of a 7'10" muscle-bound dark skinned man. I looked up at her face, '... Ah, it's the woman that works in the store.'

She was rather 'short,' standing 180 cm with broad shoulders, big muscles but not overly muscular, brown eyes, and long brown hair tied in a bun behind her head with some hair framing her face. She wore a blue above-the-knee dress with a white collar, paired with a white apron and a small black bow under the collar, black leggings that hugged her muscular legs, and short brown ankle boots.

"How long ya plannin' on loiterin' in front of me shop?" She asked with a deep frown. "Ya comin' in or not?"

Yes, I have been squatting directly in front of their store. What? How is that sneaky? Well, it's simple. First, there is nowhere around the store where I can hide and still see inside the store. Maybe the roof across the street, but once someone noticed me, it would immediately become obvious that I am a spy.

However, if I do it so openly, it would be less conspicuous. Feel me?

"Are you going to stay silent or answer me?" She asked, folding her arm around her chest.

'Ok, I should stop my monologue.' I stood straight, the top of the woman's head barely reaching my mid-chest. "I would appreciate that kind offer, ma'am, however," I patted my pocket, "as you can see, I am quite short of money. So, if you don't mind me eating on tab, I wouldn't decline entering your fascinating establishment to eat."

She was at a loss for words, staring up at me in horror. What? Did she not expect me to speak with such articulateness? 'Articulateness.' Is that a word?

"We don't do tab here, but I would do it for an interesting fellow like you." She smiled, and in that smile, I saw something.

She looked like she was trying to fuck me over. "Oh, would you look at the time?" I looked down at my wrist, "It's time to get back home, so I will be on my way,"

I spun on my hill, "Have a lovely day, ma'am." I waved as I walked away. 'Yeah, eat without paying, and she will call the police on me and say I was trying to eat and run.' She thought I didn't see that look in her eyes.

But now, I'm curious. 'How tall is that shit?' I looked towards the tower that stretched into the night clouds. 'That's most definitely kilometers high, if my eyes are a good judge of measurement.'

Interesting. 'Well, since I'm here, I guess I should just walk around this city for six hours.' I should learn a few things about this city.

And I did.

First off, I discovered that this city is massive! From what I have seen and the maps around the city, it should be at least the size of Manhattan. And that's only my estimation from the area I've explored. It should be bigger, but it makes no sense why the city will be bigger. Why?

Well, if the city could be bigger, there will be a need for high-speed transportation for the common folks to get around. Yes, adventurers could just run around with the speed of cars, but what of the normal people like me and you?

Well, not me, but that man that's literally beating up a child. I mean, he is quite literally stomping out her head. But I ain't helping. Next thing you know, he turned out to be a high level adventurer or had a nuke or some shit in his back pocket.

I just walked past them. "You thief!" He shouted but me no care.

As I was saying, how would a normal person like him get around a city that's as big as New York without transportation? Makes no sense.

Apart from the size, there were also other things I learned about this city. From what I've heard, it is in the 'center of the world' and is known for unparalleled 'technological,' military, and economic power due to the dungeon. Despite being a city, Orario itself could be considered a kingdom.

I mean, it makes sense when you consider the fact that they are monopolizing the dungeon. "Greedy bastards, am I right?" A woman who had the body to make any man hard asked me. "If they just let other kingdoms come and explore the dungeon without having to pay a percentage of their earnings to the guild, I'm sure that their economy will crumble."

"Look, any sane ruler would monopolize what brings their kingdom money." I replied. She has been complaining about this point about the city for a while, and I decided to school her. "If you have something like a dungeon that generates resources, treasure, and power, you wouldn't just open the floodgates to let other kingdoms in for free, would you? That's just bad governance. It keeps the money flowing, the power centralized, and the city secure. Monopolizing the dungeon is what's keeping Orario's economy booming and their military strong. If they gave up control, they'd risk losing everything to foreign interests."

She twirled a strand of her purple hair between her fingers, sighing. "I get your point, but still... A small city went bankrupt 'cause they couldn't afford the guild's taxes. I'm telling you, they're greedy bastards."

I shrugged. "Yeah, but can't you just enter the dungeon without registering with the guild?"

"You can try, but if they catch you, you'll be fined a shit ton." She shook her head. "And believe me, they will catch you."

'Ah, damn.' Why did the game spawn me inside the dungeon? Dumb idea, GAME!

She then placed her hands on her waist, eyes narrowing. "Anyway, you got the stuff?"

"I told you already," I replied. "I'm not your plug."

She didn't seem convinced. "I was told he was tall, bald, and dark-skinned."

I pointed to a tall, bald, dark-skinned man leaning against a wall. "That one?"

She glanced at the man in question, watching as he casually took a drag from what looked like a rolled joint. "You smokin' my shit?!" She roared as her purple cat ears flattened against her head in anger, her tail lashing violently from side to side. "How fucking dare you!"

She charged over to him, her claws flexed, but the guy didn't even flinch as he took another puff. "I'll enjoy ripping out your throat—

"Want some?" He asked her, holding it out to her.

"Yes, sir." She immediately calmed as her ears relaxed and her tail's frantic movement stilled, curling lazily behind her. "Thank you, sir." She took it and took a puff.

"Good shit, right?" He asked, and she nodded, her eyes distant.

"Nya~" She let out as the smoke left her nose, her body quivering.

"Hehe. I laced that shit." The man giggled, far too high to understand what just came out his mouth.

I turned to leave as I heard a cat screech.

Now, apart from all those, there is something far more important about this city.

There are gods.

God? No, gods. Lowercase g, not God Almighty.

Ok, but seriously. In this world, literally, gods walk amongst men. Freya? Loki? Zeus? Astraea? Ganesha? If you can think of a god from any mythology, they might have walked this planet's surface.

However, on the surface, they pose as mortals with little to none of their godly power. This is because they wanted to enjoy what the mortals enjoy, and while on earth, they formed something known as Familia.

From what I've heard, Familia is basically like a company, with the god as the CEO and the mortals they 'bless' being the workers. By blessing, I mean, gods give 'Falna,' or whatever they call it, to mortals, which basically strengthens their body.

With this body, mortals can go into the dungeon, kill monsters, get exp, level up their stats, and when one of their stats reaches D rank, you can either rank up or stall your rank up—like the game told me—and to rank up, you need the help of your god.

'Similar to my game.' In my game, to rank up, you required a grace from an angel, which would give you one or more skills depending on the angel you received your grace from.

It is hard to get a blessing from a high-ranking angel, like Cherubim or something, but it seems like in this game you can just go to a 'powerful' god like Zeus and say,

'Bro, give me your Falna,' and he will dap you up and say, 'Yeah, fam. You know how it is.'

Well, the relationship is not like that between mortals and gods. For big Familia, you will need to be worthy to receive a blessing from their god, like the top two Familia right now, Loki and Freya.

Like I said, it's just like a company. Google won't accept any random applicant unless you have a good resume, but a smaller company might be less lenient or even have no requirements at all.

So, when I max out all my stats as a rank 0, would I need a god blessing? No, right? I hope not, it will get annoying to try to explain to them how I somehow got a weapon named 'Face Mask of Loki.' A weapon that's basically the face of the god Loki that has been ripped off and turned into a weapon.

Yeah, fuck no.

And that wouldn't even be the worst part. The worst part would be leveling up. You see, from just the glimpse I have gotten into the game's leveling system, it shouldn't take more than 3 years for me to complete my first prestige—that is, if I decided to just hunt and hunt and hunt with no rest.

And that is a problem. Reaching rank 12 in three years? The fuck? Currently, the highest rank currently is only rank 7, belonging to a Boaz Sapiens in the Freya Familia, and he got there after like ten years or something, so becoming rank 12 in three years would definitely draw too many eyes that my emo, borderline antisocial ass can handle.

But, that wouldn't be a problem if I can rank up without the need of a god, which I am hoping is the case. Oh, and let me tell you something;

"The fuck is a Goliath?" The human male asked as he pounded into a Pallum woman, her feet lifted off the ground as he held her up in a rough doggy position, her back arching against the wall.

Her face pressed hard into the stone, her soft moans increasing with each thrust, with her eyes half-lidded, unfocused, with a mix of pleasure and exhaustion.

She looked like a child. No, if this was back on earth, this man would be in jail. I mean, come on? This is some pedo shit, but who am I to say anything?

"You mean to tell me you're that Monster Rex of the 17th Floor?" the man growled at me mid-thrust, not even bothering to stop his rhythm as beads of sweat rolled down the girl's flushed cheeks, and her lips parted, gasping for air

"So, there's no species known as Goliath?" I asked again, though his focus was elsewhere. He gritted his teeth and pounded harder, eliciting a louder moan from the chil—I mean—Pallum woman.

"Na," he finally answered.

"What about Gargareans?" I pressed.

"The fuck is that?" His response was as disinterested as ever, though the woman's moans grew louder in contrast.

"Spirit?"

Finally, he paused his thrusts and glanced at me, clearly annoyed. "Look, giant, you see me fucking, right? Why not be a good boy and shoo?"

The Pallum woman, eyes still glazed, turned her head towards me slightly, biting her lip. 'Wait for me, big man~' she mouthed.

I am not a PDF file, I said that already, so I turned to leave as I heard a roar from the man,

"RAAAAA!"

And then girl

"OHHH YES~"

"This' some tight shit!!!" The man screamed!

"YES PAPA!"

Where the fuck am I? I looked around. I am lost, but I can easily find my way back by following the tower that I can still see. That shit is 100% more than 5 kilometers tall. It was built by the gods, so it makes sense it could reach that height. Technically, or based on technology, I doubt it can, but;

Magic, I guess.

But, it turned out, most of the species I saw when the game asked me to change race don't exist. Or maybe they do, but they just went extinct and the common people forgot about it? When I asked someone what species they thought I was, they just said a slightly taller human, nothing else.

Understandably so.

But, now that I think about it, this form draws too much attention. I am a fucking anomaly! The tallest person in this city before was Otter—or is it Ottar? He is 6'10" and he is the only rank 7 in the entire city.

Yep, the rank 7 and the strongest in this city is the tallest, so I guess one word spared, everyone would be looking for this man that's taller than 'King Ottar?'

"Ma'am, how do you pronounce Ottar?"

"Otter."

"Thanks." I continued on my way.

[Welcome to Orario: Explore Orario for 5 hours (5/5) completed! Collect reward?]

'Oh?' I collected the reward and then the mini-map expanded in front of me and zoomed out to show the entirety of Orario, with the areas I walked through being lit up and the majority of the massive city being black.

Then, with a ding, the entire map of the city lit up, with the area beyond the city's wall remaining black. The map was lit up with green dots each which I can click to see their level, their name, and their titles.

'Hmm, this is quite interesting.' I scrolled around for a bit, tapping random people until I tapped one.

[God Ikelos of the Ikelos Familia]

[Your 'eyes' have been noticed.]

'Hmm...' I removed the map and kept walking.
