Chapter 102 - Riveria Date 02.

[Chapter Size: 1800 Words.]

Third Person POV

Orario.

...

...

That morning, the Twilight Mansion awoke enveloped in a serene calm. Sun rays filtered through the high windows, bathing the elegant corridors and opulent rooms in a soft golden light.

As the members of the Loki family went about their morning routines, the goddess Loki walked through the corridors with the grace and arrogance typical of all her mornings.

She went to a door and, with a mischievous smile, she opened it gently, 'Today I will finally catch them...' she thought as she opened the door, but saw the room was empty.

"Mom?" She asked, but only silence came as her response.

She closed the door and continued down the corridor to Aiz's room.

"Aiz, my love!" She shouted, opening the door. Aiz, looking out the window that morning, turned to his goddess with indifferent eyes.

"Are you alone, where is Riveria?" She asked, and Aiz shook his head negatively as if he didn't know.

"How strange, she's not with Finn, whom I just passed," she murmured, but suddenly, a chill ran down her spine, an inexplicable shiver whispering of an imminent change, something that would echo in her immortal soul as eternal sadness.

For a moment, her thoughts went to Lucius and Riveria. She saw the image of Lucius in her mind, embracing Riveria in a way she never could.

"No, no, this can't be happening!!!!" She screamed, quickly heading to the mansion of Heimdall where she knew the chibi was, little did she know it was already too late.

While Lucius was with Riveria in the air, Lucius began to use his teleport magic, guiding them out of the city limits.

"This is really strange, Lucius... I saw it in the war game, but to see you doing it while we're leaving the city? Who really are you?" She said, staring intently with her hopeful eyes into the eyes of Lucius, who just smiled.

"A man always has to have a mystery, Riveria," Lucius commented as he continued to focus on their teleport.

They flew over, moving away from the city center like a flash blinking every 50 meters. Making the city become a distant tapestry of colors and shapes. Riveria, initially apprehensive about the height, soon found herself absorbed by the beauty of the experience.

Soaring in the sky with Riveria, Lucius guided them away from Orario, flying over an increasingly rural and unfamiliar landscape. After some time, they arrived at a picturesque medium-sized village, far enough from the city to be unknown to most of Orario's inhabitants.

Riveria, observing the scenery below, asked with curiosity, "Lucius, where are we?"

Lucius, with a carefree smile, replied, "Somewhere we can forget for a moment that we are members of influential families in Orario. A place where we can just be ourselves, without responsibilities or expectations."

Riveria, although a bit hesitant at first, nodded, accepting Lucius's proposal for a surprisingly relaxed day. As soon as Lucius was above the town, he began his rapid descent, getting close enough for a smooth landing outside the village gate, but it didn't take long for their presence to attract attention as soon as they started walking into the place.

The appearance of Lucius, with his typical nobleman's attire and confident demeanor, and Riveria's natural elegance, an elf of notable stature and beauty, made them stand out among the villagers. Whispers and curious glances followed them as they strolled through the stone streets of the village.

"Lucius, what happened to the books I gave you? I hope you didn't leave them at the gate of that mansion, did you?" Riveria looked at him like an eagle.

"Don't worry, I stored them in a safe place without you noticing," Lucius said with a smile.

"This village is called Eryndor," Lucius explained as they walked. "It's a small place, but it has its charm. Most people here live off the land and handicrafts. It's a simple life, quite different from the hustle and bustle of Orario."

Riveria looked around, absorbing the atmosphere of the place. The houses were modest, built with local stones and wood, and the streets were lined with fruit trees and small gardens. The air was fresh and had a scent of nature rarely found in the big city.

As they passed a small group of villagers, Lucius and Riveria could clearly hear the whispers. "Who are they?" "They look like nobles or high-level adventurers." "Are they lost?" The questions and speculations were whispered almost reverently.

Lucius smiled at the comments, accustomed to attracting attention wherever he went, but for Riveria, it was a bit uncomfortable. She was more used to being a figure of authority and respect in the formal structures of Orario, not the center of attention in a small village.

"Don't worry, Riveria," said Lucius, noticing her discomfort. "Here, we are just two travelers enjoying the day. Nothing more."

Riveria relaxed and continued to explore Eryndor by his side. That day, Lucius and Riveria were not just renowned adventurers or members of powerful families; they were curious visitors, enjoying a peaceful day away from the complexities of their lives in Orario.

"There's a small inn here that serves delicious homemade food," suggested Lucius. "Shall we try it?"

"Have you been here before? You seem to know this place well," she observed.

"Yes, I was here before going to Orario for the first time, it was a path where I could not be tracked," Lucius murmured.

"Your family?" She raised an eyebrow at the mystery that Lucius still was to her.

"You could say that, but it's just a personal matter. But don't worry, I haven't committed any crime," he said, winking at the end.

Riveria sighed and returned to the main topic. "I'll trust you, and about the inn, it sounds like a great idea. A day off with good food is something I rarely get the chance to enjoy," she said with a slightly shy smile.

Arriving at the inn, they were greeted by a warm atmosphere. The inn, with its exposed wooden beams and rustic decor. The aroma of homemade food filled the air, mixing with the soft sound of conversations and laughter from the locals and a few travelers making a stop.

While waiting for their food, Riveria visibly relaxed, moving away from the role of the strict and respected leader she usually played. "You know, Lucius," she began, "it's rare for me to have a moment like this, away from everything. I'm usually so involved with the responsibilities of my family that I forget what it's like to simply... be."

Lucius, listening attentively, responded: "It's important sometimes to take a step back and breathe. Even for someone as dedicated as you, Riveria."

The meal that followed was delicious, with the day's soup order of deer hunted in the forest, Lucius and Riveria enjoyed the food. Riveria loosened up, they talked, laughed, and shared stories, enjoying the simplicity of the moment.

As they left the inn, the sun was already beginning in the middle of the sky. Lucius and Riveria, reenergized by the food and the company, were ready to continue exploring the area.

"And now?" Riveria asked.

"Let's go somewhere else," Lucius said.

"Okay, but I'm sure my family will be quite worried if I take too long," Riveria commented.

"Then let's speed things up..." Lucius said, appearing in front of the elf and picking her up by her waist again. Riveria, now more accustomed to Lucius's surprises, nodded with a slight smile. With a smooth movement, they began to levitate, slowly rising from the ground.

The nearby villagers, who were watching the interaction between the two, were left agape as they witnessed Lucius and Riveria levitating and rising into the air. Some pointed and murmured among themselves, impressed and surprised by the magical spectacle before them.

Lucius, keeping Riveria secure in his arms, guided them out of the village, ascending higher into the sky using his teleport. They moved away from Eryndor, heading towards the mountains surrounding the region. The fresh wind blew softly, bringing with it the fresh scent of pine forests and the moist earth of the mountains.

As they neared the destination chosen by Lucius, the view became increasingly impressive. Finally, Lucius landed on a hidden plateau in the mountains, a secret and isolated place with a stunning view. It was a perfect spot for contemplation and admiration of natural beauty, far from any civilization.

"This place is incredible, Lucius," said Riveria, looking around. "How did you find it?"

"I used to be quite weak, to the point of seeking some services outside Orario. On one of my trips and explorations," replied Lucius, "I found this place while hunting a group of goblins, and I've never forgotten it since then. I haven't been here for about 6 months, to tell the truth." Lucius maintained a nostalgic tone in his voice.

Riveria, contemplating the scene before her eyes, was visibly enchanted. The landscape was a living painting, with the sunset light bathing the mountains in golden and orange hues, creating a spectacle of colors and shadows. The fresh mountain air, the tranquility of the place, and the natural beauty were almost surreal.

"It's... beautiful," murmured Riveria, almost in a whisper, as if afraid to disturb the peace of the place. She was completely absorbed by the view, her eyes scanning every detail of the stunning landscape.

Lucius, beside her, watched with satisfaction Riveria's reaction. "I knew you would appreciate this place," he said.

They remained there, side by side, in respectful silence, allowing themselves to be immersed in the natural beauty surrounding them. The sun continued to climb in the sky, Lucius and Riveria continued to enjoy the serenity and beauty of the place. Lucius, with a skillful magical gesture, snapped his fingers and, in an instant, a comfortable rug appeared on the ground, along with two elegant glasses. With another subtle movement, he produced a bottle of fine wine, which he had carefully stored in his space magic.

Riveria watched, visibly impressed and slightly stunned by the ease with which Lucius manipulated magic to create comfort and elegance in such a wild environment. "You really have some surprising tricks, Lucius," she commented with a smile.

Lucius, with a mischievous smile, responded: "A little magic can make any moment even more special." He opened the wine bottle with a fluid motion and carefully poured into both glasses. They sat on the rug, wine in hand, enjoying each other's company.
