Dandelion Memories

“E-excuse me, have…we meet before?” A sweet, sweet smile curved on her lips as she nodded vigorously. “I know you. From here,” she said as she touched where her heart is. “I’ve been looking all over for you.” ---- "I just want to live..." Dandy was born as a flower spirit deprived of all the things that other creatures have. Then it all changes when Amaterasu noticed her. Lived as forest deity, guardians that are in her beck and call. Gods and Goddess protecting her and a person who changed the meaning of love. But who says that life is always a walk on paradise? After being in that lifetime for a short while, she died and transmigrated as mortal with the help of Amaterasu--again. And died again even before she could really live her happy ending with Sora. This isn't what she asked for! This isn't what she wished for! Why did she always have to die? Reincarnated the third time, she needed to end this. She needed to know why can't she live her life anew and kept coming back to this lifetime? ---- Cover credit to: https://twitter.com/ANNERICA138 Photo direct link: https://twitter.com/ANNERICA138/status/1390409718150037506/photo/1 Participating in #WebnovelSpiritySpringAwards2021 (REUPLOAD TO JOIN SPIRITY 2021) ---- DISCLAIMERS: This is a work of fiction. The Oracle and The Mortal Body

ALL OF THEM were quiet for a moment when Nigi moved and walked away. "This is not the right place to talk about that. Ears and eyes are everywhere."

Seri looked around and he knew it was not the tourist around them but the spirits that are invisible to any humans that were present.

"Let's not waste our time standing here. Let's go back to that place."

Seri's mother was talking about the small hut inside the forest where humans don't wander in so much. They all sat down as they watch where the sunsets.

"It has been a long time since I last sat with you guys here." Seri expressed his nostalgia. Remembering how they were a long time ago.

"And I'm very much thankful that you stayed with us until we decided to sleep," Sakura smiled at his son and held his hands. "Having you by our side made us feel how to be a human. Lived a simple life."

Seri glanced at his mother and held her hands, too. "I'm glad that I came back."

Then there was silence. It was only when the sun started to descend that Nigi talked.

"What made you come back, son? I know it wasn't because you missed your mother."

The light and dark. It what you will see as Nigi and Seri looked at each other.

"So, you have any news up in Takamagahara?" Seri started. "My son and I were called back here. It was said that she needed us to be here but no one told us as to why or for what. I'm afraid for the well-being of my son. He's just a human. Carried and born by a human."

His parents were silent for a moment before looking at each other. Nigi looked at his son and shook his head.

"We may have access to Takamagahara but I don't have any means of going back there. And knowing what the Sun Goddess' will is a puzzle even to me. I'm sorry son."

"Knowing the future, it is said that only one can do it," Sakura then said. "But she only reveals herself if you would find her."

"How?"

Sakura shook her head. "She disguises herself as a human. No one knew what she looks like. Changing her image now and then."

"Then, do you think, the Sun Goddess has talked to her?"

Nigi then sighed. "No one knows, Hosuseri. Questions would only arise after finding the answer to the first one." Nigi then looked at the sun as it completely descends and took its rest. "Knowing the future and trying to change it would only result in a disaster. People involved, may it be Gods or humans, will only end up getting hurt."

"I say, son, that be ready to whatever happens. Protect your child to your utmost power." Sakura held her shoulder as to where the burned skin was. It was when she tried to protect him when their house got burned while she was giving birth to him and his brothers.

Seri nodded to his mother.

{Future is vast. And I'll just have to be ready—no, I'll have to defy what was in for my son. He is mine, Amaterasu, and no one should know what is good for him except me.}

THE SOUND of a drop of water echoed thru the Sun Palace. Amaterasu stopped from what she was doing and looked in the direction where was the water clock was.

She immediately stood up and walked towards it. It was located at the back of her Palace. A series of shishi odoshi fountain—or a bamboo water fountain. It can tell time and a day. The water flowing in it was connected to the celestial river of the Takamagahara.

"And when the time comes that the celestial river dries, that this Sun Palace would be flooded, it will be the time that the Goddess of all the Goddess will rise," Amaterasu mumbled as she watched every drop of water descend at the bamboo.

Was she ready for that?

Was she ready for the confrontation? For the consequences?

{Are you ready to hurt all of the beings that will be involved in all of this?}

Amaterasu inhaled sharply as different faces flooded her mind. She closed her eyes as she calms herself.

{there's no backing down now. The clock has started to move. I can only hope for the best that it will surely follow what I'm planning. It will save everyone's lives.}

Amaterasu was still calming herself, repulsing the clouds of doubt and fear. Doubt of failing. Fear for everyone.

"Amako, I'm back," Ame-no-Uzume announced herself.

Amaterasu gave herself one full pull of air before breathing out and calming herself. She then faces Uzume with a gentle smile.

Uzume was one of the few celestial beings that she kept close and trusted. After all the power struggle and rivalry, she only kept a few by her side to trust.

"What news have you brought? Any news about her mortal body?"

Uzume sadly shook her head before bowing down to the floor. "I regretfully say that I still failed in finding her. If only I got there earlier than them."

Amaterasu kneeled beside Uzume and helped her up. "It is not your fault that we got deceived. I should have better judgment with everyone."

"Do you know who would betray us, Amako?"

"At this point, I still yet have to know," Amaterasu silently responded. "We have openly trusted everyone under our care. And now that I have shorter connections, we will just have to wait. Have you heard about the attack at the forest?"

"They did not?" shocked was clear on Uzume as she was not present at the Takamagahara when Kahaku reported what happened.

"And they say it was my brother Susanoo who asked for it."

"Him?!" anger splurged into Uzume. "I thought that he wouldn't want to get involve in these kinds of matters."

"And so he is. So, calm down, Uzume," Amaterasu lightly tapped her hand. "Susanoo was here with me when the attack happened—"

"But it doesn't mean that he didn't ordered it."

Amaterasu nodded, "But I'm giving him a benefit of the doubt. I have failed in trusting him before and disaster happened. My brother, he's more loyal to his words than to anyone. And I asked Kahaku to silently watched over him. After all, river and sea are connected."

Uzume only then calmed down. Kahaku was one of the Gods that forfeited their position in Takamagahara. It was enough for him to take care of the river, a few people who'd still believe that he exist. The fewer followers, the fewer that would get his heartbreak.

And Amaterasu cannot disagree with it. As she had experienced it first hand more than anyone.

"Let us hope for the best as the clock has started running."
