King For A Day

The Queen looked at them and shook her head. "Don't worry about me. I'm fine. I love you all." She said wiping off the tears that refused to stop flowing.

Seeing how cheerful her kids were, she became scared of what the future holds for them.

How could she tell her kids the mistake she had made in the past. She became scared.

Not scared for herself but for her kids and the unknown dark things they stand to face when the truth is uncovered.

The Queen was taken to her room to rest after breakfast.

The Queen retreated to her chamber after much persuasion from her children.

They called Casper, the royal physician to check up on her just to be sure she was physically fine.

They all gathered in the Queen's room to find out her condition from the physician.

"How's the Queen?" Xavier asked after Casper was done with his check-up. "The Queen is in perfect condition, but resting from time to time would be best." Casper said as he arranged his medical kit in order.

"I told you that I'm fine, but you won't listen." Daria whined like a child.

"And you'll still stay in for the day." Xavier said politely, yet authoritatively.

"But I'm perfectly fine." Daria complained.

"No, mother." Xavier was no longer sounding polite but dictative. The Queen had no other choice but to oblige.

Casper stood there waiting to be dismissed as ordered by law.

"You can leave now." Zerys said politely, as if reading his mind.

Casper bowed slightly before leaving with his medical kit.

All through the time, Liam seemed distraught. He stood at the end of the bed with his arms folded across his chest, unaware of the questions his brothers had been asking him.

He snapped out of his train of thoughts when Darius came to where he stood and tugged on his shirt lightly.

"Are you sure you're okay, brother?" Darius inquired looking at Liam confused.

"You seemed lost. What's disturbing you?" Xavier asked with a worried expression.

The Liam he knows is not much of a deep thinker which means that he must seriously be worried about something for him to get lost in his thoughts.

"Are you alright son?" The Queen said sitting up on her bed.

"Can you guys stop worrying? I'm fine. I just have a lot to do which got me thinking which to do first. There's nothing to worry about." He chuckled, lying through his teeth.

"Come on, let's leave mom to rest." He said as he nudged his siblings to move.

"Carry me." Sati said as she ran to Liam with her hands opened wide.

"Sure thing my princess." Liam said as he lifted her off the ground.

"You're bigger than that, Satia." Daria scolded.

"Its fine, mom. She'll always be my little angel." Liam replied to Daria with a huge smile on his face.

The other brothers jokingly mocked them both. "Show off." Kyle said to Liam.

"Have some rest mom. We'll come to check on you later in the day." Zerys said before closing Daria's room door.

Liam and his siblings walked slowly through the castle halls.

"I guess you have to assume control till Her Majesty is in a perfect condition to rule." Xavier said enthusiastically, only to find Liam lost in his thoughts again.

"Are you sure you're okay, brother. You know you can tell us anything." Kai said as they stopped in their tracks.

"Yeah. Tell me who's troubling you, and I'll give them a piece of my mind." Sati said cupping Liam's cheek with her little hands.

"Don't worry I'm fine, it's nothing serious." Liam said smiling faintly.

"Are you sure it's nothing serious cause you are surely not acting like it." Arthur said looking worried.

'I can't let you guys know now, but I promise that I'll definitely tell you when the time is right.' Liam said to himself.

"I'm one hundred percent sure that it's nothing serious." Liam said smiling brightly as a way of reassuring his siblings that he's fine.

"So Xavier, what were you saying?" Liam asked as they continued walking.

"I was just saying that you have to be King for the day." Xavier said looking at Liam to see if he was paying attention.

"Oh, I guess you're right. Well then, who wants to watch me rule?" He asked his siblings joyfully.

"I do." Sati said bubbling with much joy.

"I seriously don't get what's there to be excited about. Are you sure you were not charmed by Liam?" Zerys said rolling his eyes.

"Looks like someone's jealous." Sati said laughing as she made to come down from Liam's arms.

She stood in front of Zerys with her arms stretched out, indicating she wants him to carry her, which Zerys gladly did.

"No need to be jealous big brother Zerys, I love you all so much." Sati said as she wrapped her arms round his neck.

They all laughed out loud seeing how childish Sati was being. Why wouldn't she be? She had seven elder brothers and a doting mother by her side.

"Come on, let's head to my chamber. We have a kingdom to rule." Liam said completely different from the dull overthinking personality he once was few minutes ago.

"What do you mean by we? You are to be the ruler for the day, so what role do we have to play?" Darius asked looking confused.

"Cause you all will be my trusty advisors." Liam said playfully.

"Just for today though." He added when he saw the shock on Darius' face, and they all laughed out loud.

"And I'll be your queen right?" Sati said twinkling her eyes in an expectant manner.

"Of course. You'll always be my Queen." Liam smiled brightly.

"Yay, I'm a queen. I'll go put on my dress now." She quickly came down from Zerys' hands.

"But you are already wearing your dress." Xavier laughed at Sati's behavior. "This thing? Humph, not fit for a queen." Sati looked at the dress with disgust which made her brothers to laugh.

Soon she ran off to her own room to have the maid change her dress, while the princes headed to Liam's quarters.
