Finding The True Perpetrator II

"Trust." Liam said looking at his siblings before turning back to Alonzo.

"I trust my siblings to be able to stand by them no matter what. I know what they are all capable of, which is why from the start, I knew this was all a set up." Liam added.

Xavier and the rest of his siblings felt touched by Liam's words. He had always been a caring brother to them, even though they were of different fathers.

"Only when she told her story was I truly convinced that she was trying to frame Kyle up." Liam said when he saw that the board members were all tongue-tied.

They seemed surprise as to the level of trust their crowned prince had for his siblings.

"Cause of the earlier death of her father, Duke Westerfield?" Leon asked clearly impressed with the detective skills of the prince Liam.

"Not just that, but also the fact that Kyle will never have eyes for Lela due to reasons that are confidential." He turned to Kyle who looked really scared as if he dreaded Liam saying whatever it is that was confidential.

He only calmed down when he heard the rest of Liam's sentence. Liam winked at him and gave him a reassuring smile.

The board members were all curious about the confidential reason that Liam spoke of, but dared not to ask for fear of their lives, while Zerys and the rest of his siblings, but Xavier were also wondering what was so private that got Kyle scared of it being exposed.

Xavier already knew what Liam was talking about, so his facial expression remained the same.

"And also the fact that our household was really close to that of the Duke. Even when he lost his wife in a fatal accident, we grieved with him.

So I was more convinced when she accused Kyle of killing the Duke, which I know he will never do as a result of the fact that right from childhood, Kyle has always considered the Duke as his favorite uncle even though he was not related to our household." He said explaining his solid proofs.

"Not to talk of the fact that Kyle will never sexually or even physically abuse anyone." He explained further. "Xavier maybe, but definitely not Kyle." He added smirking at Xavier.

"What the fuck is that supposed to mean? I'm more of a gentleman than Kyle. I would never do such thing to anyone and you know it." Xavier complained neglecting the fact that he was not supposed to speak in the board meeting except he was asked to. He was not about to let Liam tarnish his name.

"I know you would never do such a thing. I was only messing with you. Of course I know you are more upright than Kyle." He said sarcastically as he winked at Kyle which made Kyle to giggle silently.

Xavier could sense the sarcasm in Liam's tone so he just sat there with his arms folded. Liam chuckled at Xavier's reaction.

"Your instincts are really reliable your highness." Alonzo said smiling brightly. He was really impressed with Liam's leadership skills.

"Now that she has been imprisoned, there's nothing to worry about." Leon said calmly.

"I for one think we should be on guard even though the Lady Lela has been imprisoned, cause there's every reason to believe that she's not working alone." Darius chimed in finally saying what has been bothering him the most.

Liam felt impressed by his younger brother's thoughtful words, but the board members, most especially Leon, on the other hand felt insulted because someone as young as Darius refuted the words of the chief general of the Kingdom's army.

"Really now? Why do you think so Darius?" Liam asked smiling.

"Well, cause the story just doesn't check out. Like why would the Lady Lela frame big brother Kyle up?

It obviously isn't cause of mere admiration or because she wants to be a part of the royal household, otherwise she would have framed you up instead since you are the soon-to-be king." Darius explained briefly.

The board members saw reason in Darius words, but they were not about to take advice from a 12-year-old.

"What do you know about evil plots? You are just living in your imagination cause your words doesn't sound reasonable." One of the prime ministers said looking at Darius in disgust.

"You and I both know that what he has said is the truth. Lela is obviously not working alone.

She has been engaged to one of the most richest and powerful dukes in the eight kingdoms, so why would she want to frame Kyle up?" Xavier said a little bit harshly.

"Besides, she never mentioned anything about marriage with Kyle, which means she had other ulterior motives." Zerys said boldly.

"Yeah. It's obvious she was aiming at tainting the royal family's name and also landing big brother Kyle in the dungeon." Arthur added to what his brothers had all said.

He only gained the courage to speak when he saw how bold his brothers were while making their points known.

Liam was more than impressed with how wise his brothers all were.

"What do you think of their judgements general Leon?" Liam asked giving the general a mocking smile. The board members were all bitter inside.

"I think they have a point. They might be right." Leon said through gritted teeth.

"Well I don't think they are right. I know they are. Lela is definitely not working alone. She might just be a pawn in this game." Liam said while thinking of who the real perpetrator might be.

"But if she's just the pawn, then who could possibly be the real mastermind of all these, and what does he or she intend to achieve by doing this?" Alonzo asked Liam.

"That we don't know for sure cause Amstrid is greatly envied by a lot of people, and also hated by so many people as well.

So we can't be so sure of who really is the perpetrator, but for the mean time, we have to be on our toes and extra cautious." Liam said calmly.

The meeting ended few minutes afterward with the board members coming to a conclusion of doubling the Kingdom's security measures.

"Who knew you guys had so much wisdom? And you Darius, you were so bold and wise." Liam said to his siblings as they all went for dinner.

Darius smiled shyly. He himself was unsure of where such courage came from.

"I guess I found my advisors and personal counsel for when I ascend the throne." Liam said smiling brightly.

"What about me?" Sati asked anticipating Liam's answer. "Of course you will always be included." He said as he carried her up.

"But you all still have a lot of training to do, and I'll be your personal guide." he added still smiling widely.

They all had dinner at the large dining hall, but the Queen was absent. Her food was sent to her in her chambers.

Liam smiled and joked with his siblings as they ate, but deep down, he was troubled.

'Who would want to attack the kingdom, and why use such means?' He asked himself worriedly, still putting on a huge smile on his face.

The last thing he would want to do was to make his siblings worried.
