Chapter 246: Group Chat

I was with my phone when mom knocked on my door to tell me that fake dad was about to go. I almost pretended to be sleeping, but as usual, mom opened the door again without my consent. She quickly realized that once again she had done that which I had said that I don't like about her.

"Oh my God, sorry honey, I know that I should have waited for you to ask me to come in before opening the door. Sorry ok, I only want to tell you that your uncle Matt wants to go already, so, won't you like to walk him to the gate?"

She asked me looking very sorry for her mistake.

"Hmm... You mean fake dad?" 

I teased her and she laughed and I also joined her in the laughter. Immediately I dropped the phone and stood up to my feet and joined her in the sitting room where I met fake dad already standing and ready to go, it was actually late, his house was not that close to ours, but he is a man, so, he got no cause to fear, it was not even like there was anyone after him. To be truthful and let jealousy aside, fake dad was a very nice person, I bet he will hardly have any enemy, except withing his competitors. He is a very friendly and jovial person, judging from the level of his wealth, he was supposed to have some degree of pride and arrogance, but he lack those traits, well, maybe he was a man of dual personality, he may have a life for his friends and family and another for other people. If that is the case, thank God that I fell in the friends and family group.

"Ikem, we were boring you with our talks, right?  You don't have to blame us, it has been long since we last had such a connection, you are a man, you will surely understand what I am talking about, that is if you haven't started to understand already."

So he said with his right hand hung on my shoulder. Together the three of us walked outside to the place where he parked his car.

"Listen Ikem, I want you to know that I am always here for you, whatever you need, do not fail to let me know, you know that there are things that your mom might not permit of you, probably because she does not understand why you need that, and it could only be because she is a woman, so things like that do not fail to tell me, you know we are all men."

So he said. As he said this, mom was even listening, she laughed saying:

"Can you imagine, someone is trying to snatch my son's trust? Hahaha, my dear, you can never win in this competition. I am his mother, and there is nothing that he wants that I can not give to him." 

Mom challenged dad. Listening to them have a contest on who will do more for me give me the courage to ask mom there and then for permission to bring my friends over for the party on the twenty-ninth which will be happening the day after tomorrow.

"Aha, mom, I was thinking on how to even ask you for permission to let my friends from school come over to the house for a house party."

So I said.

"What? What did you say? You are kidding me, right? A house party... Where? In which house? It is never happening my dear, in fact, it is better that you take that out of your mind."

She responded to my request.

"No, mom... It's not tomorrow o, it is next tomorrow. You won't even be around then, you will be in the office and we will be done and even clean up before you will be back."

So I said to her, but she looked at me, she kept a stare at me for quite a little while, at that moment my pause was rising, my heart beat so fast as I anticipated for a "yes".

"Hmm... No! You guys will disturb the neighbors, remember we are not the only ones in this neighborhood, and you teenagers could be very noisy, I know how you kids love noise, so my dear, I am sorry I won't permit that, why not they do It at their place?"

So mom said.

"But mom, you know that you said that you will do anything for me."

Sobu said trying to blackmail her emotionally, but too bad for me, the lady had made up her mind never to be changed by any form of blackmail.

"I don't want to talk about this anymore, this should be the last time we discuss this."

Mom said, with this that she said, I felt so bad, I almost felt like my heart was going to stop to beat due to the city I felt at the moment, now fake dad looked at me, and saw the pain that u felt and he decided to come to my aid. I was even thinking of how I will tell Cynthia that mom had refused to permit us to use our place for the party, and I was already sure that she had told Chinwe and Charity that the party is at my place already.

"Hmm... Julie dear, since the noise is the problem, what if they do it at my place, I have a conference hall in my house, and it is soundproof. Yeah, what if they do it at my place?"

Listening to fake dad say this, gave me this unexplainable feeling, the happiness I felt was really unquantifiable. With a dropped jaw I turned to mom to hear her response to fake dad.

"My dear, but you know how these kids could be, what if they turn this party into another thing? This is going to be a bunch of teenagers together unsupervised, you know how adventurous they can be."

Mom said. Hahahaha, at that moment when mom was saying this, I never knew that I could ever feel that which I felt towards her ever in my life, it was very funny how I felt so irritated at mom even trying to discourage fake dad about his offer to me.

"Honey, don't worry, they can handle their shit, and if you are so worried about how they might behave there, I will employ a bouncer that will keep an eye on them. He will make sure nothing happens."

So fake dad said. That was when my love for him boosted even more, at that moment, it became very clear to me that he was the right man for mom, and it didn't even end there, he kept on blowing my mind.

"Mom, forget that thing, we will take good care of ourselves, nothing will happen, and dad already said it, he will contract a bouncer to us. So mom, please, forget it o, just forget it."

So I said.

"Now since we are already good, you will have to give me your account number, I'll send you little money that you will use to coordinate the affairs that day, you said it is twenty-nine, right? And I hope fifty thousand will be enough to find the day."

Fake dad said. I felt so glad, I couldn't control my feelings, I had to give him this hug which made mom give me these looks that made me suspect that she was jealous. 

"No sir, I do not have an account yet." 

So I said. At that moment I couldn't just say that I have an account yet, though I had opened an account with Access bank, but I was yet to have a BVN. So, the BVN issues were the reason why I had to say that I had no bank account yet.

"Really? Why? You need to get yourself a bank account, you are a big boy, common, for a fact, you really have to get an account." 

So fake dad said.

"And Juliet, what are you doing that he is yet to have an account? I'm disappointed. So, you will give me your own account then, I will send it to you, then you will withdraw and give to him."

Fake dad said, I was so elated by this cute gesture of his.

"Thanks Dad,"

For the first time, it actually felt good to call him dad. Well, I greeted him with a thousand thanks, and mom could no longer bear it that she had to start forcing him to go home with the pretext that it was already. After much pressure, fake dad later accepted to go home, he entered his car while I went to the gate to help him open up so he could go, but just before he left, he warned down the glass of his car before saying to me that me:

"Aha Damian, you know where the wines are? You will have to go there and take as many as you guys want. Mind you, no other alcohol will be tasted in the hall, is that clear?"

Fake dad said and I accepted that which he said. Red wine is enough for the party. So as he left, we quickly locked the gate and we walked back into the house, mom tried to convince me not to go on within the party, but I paid little or no attention to what she was saying, my mind was already made up and I had no plan of going back on it.

So that night we all went to our various rooms, for me, I went to my room to find my phone beeping on and on. I had left it on the bed when mom came asking me to come to join her toa  escort fake dad to his car. So i oicked the phone which was at the bed only to see that my message box wa about to blow on WhatsApp, I quickly open the WhatsApp and I realized that most of the messages was from the new group that Cynthia had created comprising of the Super Cee and me. When I got online, I met the bulk of messages there, I couldn't read them all, so I skipped them and started chatting with everyone, Chinwe was very glad to hear from me, it had been quite a while we apoke, itbwas since school, I was opportuned to see Charity at the oark the other day, yeah it was on the 25th. They were very excited when I showed them the picture of fake dad's house. Charity couldn't hold her excitement, and I told them that no one need to contribute any thing for the party, that everything had been settle, I also told them about the bouncer, and the girls weree super happy about it.

"Nice, I love this, really, now all those boys that will be coming with their bad characters will have to keep it in their pocket, else they will be given the beaten of their lives."

 So said Charity. So, I gave them all the address to the place, but Cynthia and I will be going there together. I even asked them to invite more people since we are going to fake dad's place where will obviously have more space, I even intentionally asked them to invite bright and his cliques, I will like to see the bullish faces once again. You know, for a fact, I have missed those guys, I never knew that some one could miss to be taunted before, I really did miss that feelings and I even missed those guys a whole lot.

So, after that chat, we all retired to our beds, that night I slept with a whole lots of sweet thought in my head, I never knew that I will have to dream such dream that I had that night, I felt like the slept would have been smooth.
