Chapter 5

Lucita had moved out of the apartment she shared with Dahlia because according to her, she couldn't live in the same house with a speedster.

Yes, that's what she was calling Dahlia's weird behavior. Perhaps, watching too much episodes of The Flash messed up her brain.

She also took Dahlia's words into consideration. Richard was a Doctor, he looked rich and single. She always had men eating out of her hands within seconds and she wanted to get him. All she had to do was up her game. Break up with her course rep boyfriend and get seductive clothes even Jesus' disciples wouldn't be able to resist.

She put on the dress that looked like a singlet on her tiny body and catwalked into the hospital but unfortunately for her and a waste of dress and makeup, Richard was not in. He was busy at his home trying to use Dahlia to get his brother bow his head in shame.

Dahlia sat in the dining hall beside Richard cracking her brain on how she was going to pretend to eat and throw the food away. Harrison's eyes were fixed on her head, perhaps her lips and their Mother was monitoring her closely and the sound of their hearts pumping blood was beginning to get to her.

"You're really pretty" Hannah, Richard's Mother commented

"Thanks" Dahlia said

"Are you my son's girlfriend?" she asked

"No…" Dahlia began

"Yes Mother. She is" Richard said. He took her hand and kissed the back wth his eyes on Harrison. He scoffed and turned away

"I won't believe that" Harrison said

"Why not?" Hannah asked facing him

"There can't be anyone to like my baby brother Richard" Harrison said smirking. Dahlia didn't like him. He was annoying.

"Well, there is" Dahlia said

"Who?" Harrison asked

"Me. I like your brother" Dahlia said

"Infact, I love him" she added

Richard couldn't believe what he just heard fron Dahlia. 'Me, I like your brother', those words kept ringing in his head. He wondered if she really meant it but Nurse Abigail always gisted him about how she helped her guy friends not look like complete idiots by telling people she liked them.

"You really do?" Hannah asked her

"Yes, Mother" Dahlia answered

Hannah was elated. Dahlia had called her Mother. All she wanted from her ever fighting sons was to bring in a girl who would actually treat her like a daughter would.

"Well, that's great" Hannah said

"I think this means I'll officially be having grandchildren soon" she added

"I have to go now" Harrison announced. He was visibly annoyed

"But you haven't touched your food" Hannah complained

"I've lost my appetite" he answered and stormed at of the house taking his jacket with him

"Dahlia, Richard, you guys aren't also eating" Hannah said getting worried

"Why? Does it taste bad?" She asked

"We have to go too Mother" Richard said getting up and kissing her on both cheeks before leaving

"Whew!" Dahlia breathed and got into Richard's car. He was smiling all the way, happy that Harrison lost his appetite just because he was with Dahlia.

They got to the hospital and found Lucita walking out. She didn't give up on him and waited hoping he would come see her in her sexy dress. When she was about to give up he drove in. Talk about good luck on her side.

"Hey! There you are Richard" Lucita said grabbing him. She forced him into a kiss as Dahlia stepped out of the car and saw them. Seeing them kiss was a real shock to Dahlia. She never knew they were that intimate. She gasped and the two of them broke the kiss.

"Oh, you bad kisser" Lucita said hitting Richard playfully while he just looked at her surprised.

"Well, Richard thanks for dropping me off" Dahlia said and walked off. Richard made to go after her but Lucita stopped him.

"Don't you dare, or else" she threatened

"Or else what" Richard asked

"I'll tell her you were the one who bit her" she said laughing wickedly

He stood staring at her in shock.

"What are you talking about?" He asked

"Oh, you do know what I'm talking about" she said

"Tell me" he said through clenched teeth. He was getting angry

"Really? You thought I wouldn't find out?" Lucita said

"Gath told me everything" she added

"You are a vampire?" Richard asked

"That almost sounded like you know it" Lucita said

"And yes, I'm a vampire now and I know everything about your transition and how you bit Dahlia not being able to control yourself" she said

Okay. Richard too didn't touch his breakfast because he was a Vampire. He was curious about the bodies because he wondered if there was another in town and he didn't learn about Vampires from reading online like he told Dahlia. He knew because he was one.

And on a full moon, Dahlia had gone to the club to pick Lucita up because she was drunk and then he bit her. The only reason he was trying to get closer to her other than paining Harrison was to try and teach her control because he was responsible for her.

"What do you want?" Richard asked

"What do I want?"

"I want you" Lucita said laughing

"You're outta your freaking mind" Richard said angrily

"You can tell her for all I care. It was an accident and wasn't intentional" he added

"Really? Do you know how much Dahlia wants to rip the throat of whoever it was that bit her?" Lucita asked

"How would you know that?"

"And how the hell did you get turned?" He asked

"Well, apparently they need other female vampires and since Dahlia's all about self control and shit I was recruited"

"I saw how she did that thing. You know, that speed thing and I loved it. I was kinda jealous when I thought she was like The Flash but then when I was leaving our apartment I saw a man with red glowing eyes and he asked if I wanted to be like her"

"It was as if he knew what I was thinking. And yes, I wanted to have the speed she had but other things were included. Like, immortality and being able to look this good" she narrated turning around

"It's not worth it" he said

"Oh, it is. And if Dahlia decides to become a vegetarian vampire I have been given the order to eliminate her" she said

"If you hurt Dahlia, I swear to God Lucita that'd be the last thing you'd do on this earth" he added baring his fangs

His sight was devious and Lucita was scared. She had seen only Gath, the one who bit her but it was like Richard was on another level. Having an argument with him was going to have to wait. She ran away cursing under her breath.

Dahlia walked slowly into the school environment in deep thoughts. Her Vampire situation wasn't bothering her but Richard and Lucita's issue. That kiss was intimate and she wondered if they were seeing each other. She thought if they were that intimate he would have taken her to his family instead.

Yes, she knew what was going through his mind when he asked her to have breakfast with the family.

"Could he possibly like her?"

"Whatever, I don't like hin so why should I care?" she continued thinking until she bumped into someone

"Hey! Watch it will you" a voice scolded her

"Oh my God" Dahlia exclaimed seeing her books fall on the floor

"Why are you pissed off when it was you who wasn't looking?" the person said again

Dahlia looked up from her books on the floor to the person talking.

"You!" She exclaimed seeing Harrison

"What the hell are you doing here?" She asked

"I'm here for work, so stop frowning" Harrison said annoyed. Dahlia cleared her throat and bent down to pick her books.

"You can't even apologize" she told said

"Apologize for what?" Harrison inquired

"You were the one who pushed me so why should I apologize?"

"Do people tell you that you're like a pine tree?" Dahlia asked

"You are so rude like a pine tree" she concluded and tried to walk away

"Wait, are you really Richard's girlfriend?" he asked. Dahlia was shocked by his question.

"Why are you still asking that? I thought we cleared that up at your place" Dahlia said

"I want to hear it from you" he said

"Why?" She asked

"Because you know nothing about my brother and you are his girlfriend. You're really clueless" he said

"Watch what you say" Dahlia said angrily

"If you wanna bad-mouth your brother do it somewhere else and not in my presence" she warned and walked off

"Such a girl" Harrison thought watching her back as she walked away.

Dahlia sat in class after her spat with Harrison. She wondered if the relationship between brother and brother was strained. Harrison looked like he was about to spill some hot beans on Richard but she didn't let him. She felt whatever it was he was going to tell her should be directed to Lucita.

"You bitch!" Someone screamed fron behind Dahlia, she turned around to see an enranged Lucita.

"What the hell is your problem?" Dahlia asked her getting up from a chair in the lecture room.

"My problem?" Lucita asked

"My problem is that you have refused to leave my boyfriend alone" she shouted

"Your boyfriend?" Dahlia said disbelieving

A lot of murmuring was heard in a lecture room full of a hundred students. They knew Dahlia and Lucita to be roommates and best of friends. They often wondered the day they would have a spat and it was happening at that moment.

"Let's talk outside" Dahlia said pulling Lucita by the arm

"Let go of me you dog!" Lucita shouted as she freed her arm from Dahlia's grip. Dahlia just couldn't take the insults anymore and her hand flew in the air and landed on Lucita's cheeks.

Her claws had found their way out and she ended up injuring Lucita on her average face. Even the bite from the vampire didn't help enhance her beauty.

"How dare you call me a dog?" Dahlia said

"Take it back. I said take your words back!" She ordered

"I'm sorry" Lucita managed to say. She realized she was no match for Dahlia no matter what. The slap she gave rang in her ears it sent her staggering back wards. If a slap could do that imagine what a punch would do?

Dahlia took her bag and walked out of the lecture room.

Lucita was so shame faced that she had to run out of the lecture room, technically before her wound healed and everyone there would find out that there was something up her sleeve.
