Ch.27 - The Envelope

After Marlin had convinced Sebastian that they needed to pull apart, she opened the letter that rested on the table. Her lover sat beside her with a curious gaze. She tilted the thick package like envelope onto the table. She didn't expect an avalanche on photographs to tumble out. Stomach rolling, she flipped one over.

Sebastian made a noise in the back of his throat before madly flipping every picture over.

Marlin didn't know how she should feel. Her mind flashed to the profile still on Creamies. Probably hundreds of videos up, showing every aspect of her body. That had never really made her sick; it was her way to survive. It wasn't ideal but it was the life she led. But looking at the screenshots of her videos decorating her bosses' room had vomit building in her throat. The photo she had flipped over showed an overview of a room with her picture covering any and every solid surface. She could pick out a few of the photos, screenshots of her cams.

The ones Sebastian were looking at were much creepier. His heart fell to the pit of his stomach as he surveyed pictures that showed collections of real time photos. They weren't screenshots but pictures taken of her walking on the street and in her hotel lobby. Sebastian picked up another photo and he felt his body begin to burn in anger. This one was an overshot of a desk layered with pictures of Marlin and Sebastian together. One from the day Marlin met Sebastian at the diner had been cut in almost half so it only had Marlin in it.

Marlin had realized this by the moment Sebastian looked at her. She had gone completely pale, hands twitching. Sebastian was quick to scoot a trash can over to her. In less than a second, Marlin had her head buried in it, vomiting everything but her soul up. Her daddy cooed her, holding her hair and rubbing her back gently. "We'll get him baby. We'll get him. I promise."

When Marlin could retch nothing else up, Sebastian picked her up and took her to their bedroom. Her body still trembled but Sebastian whispered sweet nothings to her before covering her with the blanket. He didn't leave till her chest had slowed to a steady place and her eyes were closed.

When he did leave, he went straight to his computer to search for the Damien Marlin had mentioned. When he found his office, he dialed the number. An irritatingly chipper voice answered. Sebastian was to frustrated and angry to be anything but gruff. "Transfer me to Damien Packson," he barked. The women stuttered as she moved the phone away from her.

She returned, her voice unsure," can I have a name?"

"Sebastian Give-Him-The-Damn-Phone Fenmore." He was quickly transferred, and he tried to calm his irritation.

"This is Damien Packson."

"Why did you send the pictures? God knows how you got them; we can't use them in the court of law."

Damien hummed," they're perfectly legal actually. Did you not look through the whole envelope?"

"I was to busy consoling my little after she saw her pictures being used as wallpaper and placemats," Sebastian held back a snarl.

Damien frowned on the other side," is she ok?"

A deep breath was heard from the other side," yes."

Damien paused slightly before explaining," those are copies of photos taken during a previous search warrant. In those documents I sent are files about other similar cases. John doesn't have the best track record, but all cases have been closed due to lack of evidence. Those pictures were taken a couple of days ago. If Marlin prosecutes, she'll have him on his knees."

Sebastian sat down and stared blankly at the floor. The new information swimming in his head. "Why wasn't she informed by the police sooner?"

Sebastian heard a loud crash through the phone and his eyebrow raised.

Damien spoke through clenched teeth," unfortunately due to Marlin's employment she was seen as less important."

Sebastian sighed," and why are you helping her? Why did you dig so far for her?"

Damien didn't reply.

Sebastian sank into the couch, a headache gnawing at his brain. "You like her, don't you?" No reply again. Sebastian frowned," you know honestly I'm not surprised. I'm not letting you have her though; no matter how much I owe you."

Damien smiled and chuckled softly," I didn't plan for you to. Don't worry, I'm not going to try. To be honest, when I saw her stumbling out of the elevator with that dazed look in her eyes, I had full intention of stealing her from whoever her daddy was. Then I had my people look further into her. I know when to meddle and sadly she is more than happy with you. I'm not going to take the chance of ruining that for her."

Sebastian smirked," you almost sound like a good man."

Damien, on the other side of the phone, offered his own smirk to the air," trust me. I'm not."
