"I swear to fucking God Alex this is the last time I'm ever doing this for you" I mutter under my breath as I throw my arms around his neck and kiss him right under his eyes while tiptoing. He has a scar there and I liked kissing it.

Ok maybe i'm exaggerating it a bit but be for real why me.

Honestly we get along, after all he's my best friend's twin brother Alex Cyprus. He's part of the cool kids group in Bates High School along with my best friend Persephone Cyprus.

As for me my name is Loralai Whispers. I'm not part of the group because I'm too quiet, too nerdy, too ignorant ect. My best friend has done everything to include me but she doesn't realize I love my quiet life with my books and chess pieces. They never judge me or poke at my trauma or are fake as fuck like every person in that group. They really think they are something.

Persephone is the co-captain for the cheer team and Alex is the star quarterback who has led the team to two state championships and won. So yea they are a big deal but those two never treated me like I was a loser. They made sure that no one bothered me or made me uncomfortable which I love both of them for.

As for me, I'm part of the chess club and the news crew. I'm the vice president for chess and the director for our school's new crew. Yea I'm a true nerd, it's peaceful and I like it. I actually would have never joined if it wasn't for my dad, so much has happened that he thought it would be a great idea if I did something I enjoyed.

This started in August….

August 16th (a month ago)

" Hey Lora, can I talk to you for a second." Alex asked as he sat on Persephone's gaming chair.

I was sitting on her bed playing uno. I looked up my phone and put my glasses on my head.

"What's up?" I asked, looking a bit confused. This man never asks me for anything.

"How long has Phone been in the shower?" he asked as he was twirling his thumbs.

I tilted my head to the side and looked him up and down.

"Pervert" I reply and go back to my phone.

"Am not" He retorted as he snarled and but his elbows on his knees

"You good?" I asked concerned

He knitted his eyebrow and said "do you think I'd ask you for anything if everything was ok"

I sat up from lying on Phone's bed and looked straight at him.

"Are auntie and uncle ok?" I ask in a panic

He rolled his eyes and sighed " yes they're fine"

I threw on one of the smaller pillows at him. I put on my glasses and went back to my phone.

He caught it and hugged it tight.

I slightly peaked and there was worry and anxiousness running through his face. I sighed and put my phone and glasses on the side table and I scanned his face.

" She just got in before you came. And you know she takes a good 30 minutes to shower. So spill it."

He squinted his eyes and didn't say anything for what felt like 5 minutes. I rolled my eyes, grabbed a pillow and layed down on my back. I started tossing Phone's old softball in the air and humming. I love to sing because it reminds me so much of my grandma and mom.

"umm… so here's the thing" Alex starts.

I turn on my stomach and look at him.

"I need to ask you for a favor" he half whispered

I raised my right eyebrow at him but didn't say anything.

"I need you to ~" he said to now what sounds like a low whisper

I plugged and unplugged my ears with my fingers as I sat up.

"What did you say??" I asked frowning

"You heard me" he replies looking on the ground

" No no I didn't" I lie as I scoot to the edge of the bed

"Be my girlfriend" he mutters

I looked at him but he refused to look me in the eyes.

" ALEX RAID CYPRUS WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU SAYING?!?!?!?" I yell as I feel my heart pounding

He pounced and held my mouth shut

" Lora why don't you just announce my business to the rest of the world" he said sarcastically in a growl

I pushed him off of me and rolled my eyes like what he said wasn't ridiculous enough to make anyone scream.

" I will announce it to the world cuz what are you saying??" He sighed and started to walk to the door.

"Forget I ever said anything" he said darkening his eyes

I pulled him back and tossed him towards the bed. He looked at me a bit confused on where the strength came from but that it wasn't time for it.

"Speak Alex" I push him cuz I needed answers

"I said what I said. And no I don't like you like that before you announce that to the rest of the world."

I rolled my eyes at him and sat on the ground in front of him cuz obviously I wasn't gonna get the eye contact I wanted.

"Why?" I whisper looking at my ankle bracelet my grandmother left me. That's when it hit me.

" Hold on, hold on, hold on. Is it because of Charlotte?" I ask chuckling
