Arc 3 - Character Rankings

So, there we have it, another arc completed and with it, Sinister forms his Marauders and uses them to try and hunt down Scott, only for that to end in failure. Yet most worringyly of all, Scott has not only earned himself the increased interest of Sinister, he also now has the interest of Sabretooth who has made him a target. On top of that, Sinister has managed to get his hands on Rhino and Tombstone, improving them both with his knowledge on genetics and Mutants. The former, a very dangerous and credible threat in Marvel Comics is now no longer contained to just Queens, instead he is out in the world.

Speaking of Queens, Norman is using his son as promotional material for his company, the Green Goblin the hero of Queens while Spider-Man is being treated and presented as a villain. However, Spider-Man with aid from Scott, is now being given aid by Callisto and the Morlocks, all part of Scott's plan to keep Norman contained and stalled while he focuses on building up his team.

The X-Men now have two extra members in Hank and Warren, and also Bobby, though I will be skipping over his introduction because it is not that different to how it was in the comics. He has been imprisoned, the X-Men breaking him out and Bobby choosing to join them. I initially intended to include that, but I feel like it's time to move onto the next arc and speed things up a little because the next arc is where we see Scott beginning to make bigger splashes in the world.

When Amelia and now Charles have started to realise, a Scott with a team at his back is a terrifying thing. Yet with Wolverine and the memories of Cyclops to guide him, Scott has every intention of making his team more effective and dangerous than before, even the likes of Hank and Warren receiving the proper training that they didn't receive in the beginning.

Anyway, here are the rankings for this arc:

1. Nathaniel Essex/Mr Sinister.

2. Victor Creed/Sabretooth.

3. James Howlett/Logan/Wolverine.

4. Aleksei Systevich/Rhino.

5. Michael Baer/Blockbuster.

-X-

6. Scott Summers/Cyclops.

7. Alonzo Lincoln/Tombstone.

8. Charles Xavier.

9. Callisto.

10. Warren Worthington III/Avenging Angel.

-X-

11. Amelia Voght/Mist.

12. Robbie/Prism.

13. Henry McCoy.

14. Conquistador.

Now, let us go over a few things. Again, a quick reminder that these rankings are not reflective of the main Marvel universe, but the fictional universe in which this universe is placed. Not only that, but each character is not at their peak, far from it in fact and therefore, they do not have the power or showcased some of the truly insane feats that they will in later comics. Also, for those placed higher in the rankings it means that out of ten fights, they will win 6 or more of them.

So, let me break a few things down for you, mainly Scott and Charles' placements on the rankings. Originally, when first going through this ranking he was going to be placed fourth on account of his fight against Rhino, Blockbuster, Tombstone and Prism, same with his showing with the train fight. However, the way these fights work is this, each character goes in a one-on-one fight with another person on the rankings, in an area that deprives anyone of any advantages, such as cover for the likes of Scott, or additional fighters who he can use to stall his opponents.

Do not mistake Scott's skills, he is incredibly good, one of the best currently in this world, but the only reason he won the first fight was because of the fact it was on a moving train. They could only come at him from one direction, underestimated him and the moment they were thrown from the train that was them done. As for the second fight, Scott won because he was able to use Blockbuster, Rhino and Tombstone against each other, forcing the three to get in each others way and hit one another. In what I call a 'ranking' fight, Scott has none of those advantages and therefore, as he noted in the train fight, guys like Blockbuster and others are beyond his ability to handle. This is not the case of course for Prism and Tombstone, but is for Blockbuster, Rhino and Sabretooth.

As for Charles, this is where things get pretty awkward because with his telepathy it is a very dangerous ability and he has had no interaction with the Marauders to showcase this, so minor spoilers, thanks to their connection to Sinister they have a measure of telepathic resistance. It is much weaker than Scott's and far more susceptible to Charles, but again, it serves the same purposes of Scott's. It can stall Charles long enough for them to end the fight and that will remain the case until Charles' skill and power in telepathy increases. Tombstone is the only exception to this because he is technically brain dead, just a puppet moving on strings.

Other than that, I think everything is clear and so, we move onto the next arc of this story, The Phoenix and White Queen. Hope you all enjoyed and if you have any questions, suggestions and so on, please let me know.
