Classes

There were four main classes in Cyberpunk 2310.

The most common class was obviously the [Warrior] class. Those who walked this path would use mana as a regent to increase physical attributes, and use cybernetic modifications to further increase their stats. Often, they would use cold weapons to fully exploit their physical advantage.

Then, there was the [Gunner] class. Rather than focusing on strength, gunners relied on firearms to shoot their enemies down. Their strength would be heavily related to their equipment and the grade they could handle. Gunners were limited by the quality of their mana, and thus, Rank 2 Gunners could only use Rank 2 Guns.

The rarest class was still the [Mage] class. Rather than technology, they were the remnants of the first [Hunters] that appeared in the world. Capable of casting spells, their fighting style varied a lot, from the [Elemental Mages] capable of wielding one or even two elements, to the more bizarre and unfathomable [Necromancers], who were capable of summoning undead creatures.

Last but not least, [Netrunners] also existed, relying solely on their intellect to hack through systems and often relying on electrical hidden weapons. However, Netrunners only fought as a last resort, and their role in society was to build cyber defenses, or hack through them.

When Greem transmigrated as Greem Southport, he possessed no class at all. Had he been born as a noble, he would have chosen the mage class without hesitation. They were just as rare as they were highly regarded in society. Any rank 2 and above mage would have an easy life. However, they were just as expensive as they were rare. The resources necessary for advancement was beyond anything someone from the lower class could afford.

Netrunners were very useful, but Greem knew what was to come. In the game, the monsters would discover Night Town and a terrible war would eventually break out. While netrunners possessed a wild array of applications, Greem wanted to be able to defend himself in case Night Town was destroyed. With sufficient strength, he could always migrate to another City, although it would require him to reach Rank 6 at the very least.

Hence, there only remained two classes to choose from: Gunners and Warriors.

There, Greem trusted his guts, and since he had always been a melee fighter in the game, he decided to go with the flow. And he had not been disappointed. While he did not have any 'perk', which was to be expected from his origins, he possessed enough talent to make it to the Rank 2 Realm, and learn enough skills to be considered a genius in a class of elites in Warrior Academy as he could beat up most of his peers and spars.

Of course, he was still worlds apart from the true geniuses who already reached the 3rd Rank, but they were rare. Without the system, Greem did not know how long he would have taken to reach his level.
