Old face

'Cosmetic Shop? As in those fancy sets for my game characters?'

I tried opening it:

[Cosmetic Shop

> Clothing

> Weapons

> Sets

> Aura]

[Cosmetic Shop > Weapons

> Bow of the Beholder (A bow with blue ice carvings into it, shaped like a normal bow with sharp edges] <$0.5>

> Twin Serpent bow (A bow with a red glowy orb in the middle, looks like snake scales has been used instead of woods] <$1>]

'??? Are you serious? It does look cheap, but I was expecting to pay in gold. How am I supposed to pay with dollars anyway? I opened my cabinet and found 50 cents. I held it in my hand and tried to buy the [Bow of the Beholder].'

[Confirm purchase YES/NO]

[YES]

As soon as I confirmed it, the 50 cents disappeared. I can see a new weapon in my cosmetic inventory.

[Cosmetic Inventory

> Weapons: Bow of the Beholder]

I tried to go in attack mode by thinking about it mentally, and the bow came up instead of an invisible bow.

It looks fabulous now that I look up close. It looks shiny and otherworldly. I tried dropping it to the ground, and it just disappeared.

But it seems that it's still in my inventory.

I was admiring the looks of my weapon until my mom called me,

"Hey Dendi, would you like to come with me to school?" My mom said

Although I wanted to see more cosmetics, I immediately answered

"Sure, mom, I'll go down in a bit."

As soon as I went down, I came up to my mom, and we walked to school.

"So what are we doing at school? I thought I hadn't enrolled yet. " I said

"The school principal wants to talk regarding your enrollment," my mom replied.

"I see"

'My enrollment? Now that I think about it, I've been skipping class for one year. I hope there's a way out of this. I don't want to call my classmates 'Senpai' like they always do in Japanese animes.'

As soon as we arrived at school, I saw familiar faces. How lucky was I. Kenta was there, my old friend, though I'm unsure if he remembers me, so I'll walk past him. My social skills are that bad after one year at home.

"Hey, Dendi?" he said

I turned my head over to him,

"Hey, what's up?" I replied, trying to be slightly vague because I was pretty shocked.

"Where have you been?" He asked

I didn't tell any of my friends about my leg accident. It was too depressing that I even thought of suicide at that time, but when I remembered how my mom would be if she were alone, I got rid of that thought.

"Well, I've been busy doing some work. You know, living's been hard these days." I said, half-lying since I'm still not sure if I should say it

"I see. I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you can cope." He said

"Aa, Dendi, may I know your line? We haven't been in contact for a year now.

"Sure. It's ******. Sorry I haven't been in contact. I don't know what to say. " I replied truthfully.

"It's alright. Let me know if you need any help. I'll be there. By the way, Good luck on re-enrolling," he said before walking away.

Haha, I guess it was an obvious giveaway that I'm enrolling again with my mom beside me. Moving on, we went into the principal room.

Oh, how I missed the principal. His Hitler-like mustache, long wild hair, and weird shorts were still the same as ever. I still had no clue why the principal was wearing shorts instead of suits.

My mom and the principal did some boring conversation before he said

"Hey, Dendi, nice to see you again. Are you ready for your re-enrollment?" He said

"Yeah, of course," I replied

"That's good to know. But, you know Dendi, you've been away from school for one year, so you have two choices," he said

He then continued

"First, you will have to repeat a year."

"Second, you can take an exam consisting of all the subjects and most chapters your classmates learned in grade 11." (At my school, 11th grade is equivalent to the second year of high school.)

"Of course, you will have to try studying all the subjects, but don't worry, we're doing the exam on the pace of two subjects every day. "

He kept trying to tell me about the details, but I was sure that I would have to study a lot.

'This will be tough.' I thought to myself

"Sure, I'll take the second option. It sounds plausible." I said humbly.

"I understand. I will prepare for your exams, here is the schedule. The first exam starts next week. It can only be next week since your classmates are going to graduate soon.

Although I did try to fit in more time, this is the best I could do. " The principal said

We said our farewells and went home. Boy, oh boy, I wanted to do the endless mode right away to relax.

On our way back home, I saw the lady from the park getting out of Starbucks with her coffee. She looked at my mom and me before saying.

"Hello, Dendi." She said this quite happily.

'But can you stop saying my name? I have never introduced myself'

"Hi, weird lady," I said

She seemed a bit irritated, but she then talked to my mom, and my mom looked at me and walked away as if giving me space to talk.

"So, uh, what do you want, weird lady?" I asked

"It's Anya. Anyways, I have to thank you for the other day."

'Thank you. For letting her barge into my house uninvited?'

"Uh, sure, but I didn't do anything to help, Anya," I said, genuinely confused.

"Look, I know you cleared the dungeon. You piled the corpses up for us to take, didn't you? Thanks to that, we received the loot. Here's $50 for you. " She said while handing me a $50 bill.

'What corpses? They disappeared in front of my eyes when they died. They weren't even there when I killed the boss.'

"Uh, what game are you talking about? What is this money?" I asked dumbly

"Oh, come on, I've just noticed it now, but your footprint is near the dungeon entrance." She said

'Well, how dumb am I to miss the most basic trail? I'm tired of lying, and I'm curious about what these people are doing anyway. It seems like they are good people, although it's still a bit early to judge.'

"Okay. So, what do you want?" I said in a slightly monotone voice.

"Hey, don't be cold on me; I'm sorry for the other day. Okay? Would you like to come to our headquarters?" She asked

'I've been found out, and I'm curious about this headquarters. I think I should give it a go, although it might be dangerous. But if they try to do something funny, I'll buy a [Teleport Scroll] to escape and go to my home, which costs 100 gold.'

"Sure, when?" I asked

"What about now?" she said, slightly excited.

I then told her to wait, brought my mom home, and went with her.

"Let's go," I said with a smile.
