Start of a adventure

As soon as Alex took his first steps out of the city gate, he could feel the cool breeze of the outside and he was actually excited, keep in mind, he was always cooped up in the library, and never went out.

The first thing that comes into site outside of the gates, is the huge forest right in front of him. It looks very scary, because you can not see that far into the forest, since it is completely overgrown.

If you then look to the left, you see a lot of grasslands, with a lot of hills, and some massive mountains in the background, filled with ice on top.

To the right, is his family's farming territory, a lot of farms and fields, as far as the eye could see.

He was amazed at how beautiful the world actually is, getting to see the world might not be so bad 'I might even be able to get back into the family if I change the kingdoms attitude towards demons'. All his worries disappeared as soon as he thought about that!

Now that he started to think about everything calmly, why did he get the title swordsman? one usually get the title from what the person did before they turned 15, and you usually get the swordsman title if you trained with the sword. Even though Alex was from a noble family, he never picked up the sword to train, he always stayed in the library to learn new things.

'No matter, it is the title i got, and i just have to get the best out of it' he thought, maybe it has some unexpected and good traits, who knows? Alex was honestly surprised at how positive he was, considering he was just thrown out of his home.

'One thing i have, that should be helpful, is my knowledge, I have read a lot of books, about everything!' He thought.

Alex looked up and smiled. he has found his plan, make the kingdom change their opinion about demons, or at least about him, especially if demons are as bad as he have heard.

Alex started walking towards the forest, which was right outside the gate and towards the south, which was actually the road towards the demon kingdom, it was probably the only kingdom that would accept him.

As soon as he got into the forest, he started to look around, because he had absolutely nothing on him, he had his white robes, which was from his noble house, he should really get rid of it. he doesn't have any food, no water, no weapons and no safe place to sleep. The first things he should find is water and food.

Lucky for him, the forest is filled with mushroom's, and he has read books about what was edible, and what was not. Thanks to his perfect memory, he remembers exactly which ones is poisonous and which ones are not.

He makes a makeshift backpack out of leaves, and sticks, which he can use to store the mushroom's and other useful things.

"Done, not perfect, but useful" He said to himself, quite satisfied with himself, that he did it on his first try. He starts to pick up a bunch of mushroom's, when he suddenly hears a rustling behind him, and he looks, with curious eyes. Out of the bushes comes a rabbit, when it sees Alex, it turns 90 degrees and runs as fast as it can.

Alex does not really think much about the rabbit, but at least now he knows there are rabbits to hunt, when he get a hold of a weapon to hunt. He starts to walk further into the forest, looking for a source of water, so he can quench his thirst. He does not forget to mark the trees he passes, to be sure that he is not walking in a circle.

Alex had now been walking for a few hours, his thirst is getting heavier and heavier, at least his hunger is satisfied with mushrooms. suddenly he hears a growl right beside him, and jumps up. lucky for him, it was only a wolf pup, not too dangerous to him, but if the pup is here, the parents must be close.

And true, as soon as he look behind the pup, he saw a massive wolf with silver fur, of around two meters tall, and 5 meters long. The wolf was either the father or the mother, but no matter. it stared straight into Alex's eyes, and the wolf could see pure fear, but Alex could see the tiredness and sorrow in the eyes of the wolf.

suddenly, Alex hears a lot of yells in the background, they were yelling "come back here wolf, we only want you pup HAHAHA!" Alex could see the tiredness intensifies in the big wolves eyes. He didn't know what came over him, but he felt compassion with the wolf, and chose to help it.

"Come with me! I have been walking the forest for a while, and I saw a cave close by!" Alex said, while the wolf looked and him weird, Alex had already started to run towards the cave and beckoned for the wolf to follow him. The wolf strangely felt a connection to this human boy, so it followed, while picking up the pup and running to the cave.
