Chapter !!

Inside of the abandoned church, mere minutes before the raid, dozens of fallen angels gathered in the basement.

"Are the preparation set?" A particularly important fallen angel spoke.

"Yes Raynare, the ritual is ready to begin." Another fallen angel told her.

"Good." Raynare spoke before approaching the 'sacrifice'. "What a poor little doll. A shame I need to mess up this pretty face to get what I want."

As soon as she finished those words, a grunt fallen angel ran downstairs in a panic.

"Intruders! Intruders! There are intruders upstairs!" The grunt spoke.

"Fuck. On such an important night? How many?" Raynare inquired.

"2! 2 Humans!" The grunt explained.

"And you haven't killed them already? Do you value your life?" She questioned with heavy contempt.

"I know how it sounds, but they're unstoppable!" The grunt screamed at the top of his lungs.

It was possible that Raynare had never felt as much disappointment in her life as she did right now. To think that her subordinates were so inadequate that they were being threatened by mere humans was humiliating to say the least.

"I suppose I have to do everything myself." She spoke. Coincidentally, she forgot about the fact that she didn't set up this ritual, only picking the sacred gear she wanted.

She walked past her terrified subordinate and walked up the stairs. The fallen angels were cautious about making sure the basement was fully sound-proof, therefore, no one could hear the sacrifice's screams.

In this case, it meant that Raynare couldn't hear the screams of her fellow fallen angels. After opening the door to the church, the smell of liquid iron was palpable in the air. Screams and shouts were constant and the only thing she could see was pure carnage.

There were 2 people that were tearing through their small army with ease.

One being a black-haired girl in a skin-tight costume. This one had a green aura surrounding her body. She was cleaving through fallen angels with her bare hands and with a wicked smile on her face.

The other was an impossible existence. Rather than a human, thousands of paper sheets combined to create the figure of a human. This one was floating and had hundreds, if not thousands of paper sheets circling around her. Occasionally, a paper sheet or two would disconnect from her main body and start circling her while another would take their place. This 'human' simply extended her arm forward and caused dozens of paper sheets to tear through whatever fallen angel was unlucky enough to be targeted by her.

The contempt for humanity that Raynare entered the room with evaporated as she saw her species be terminated by these 'humans'.

However, that wasn't all.

Every now and then, a loud bang could be heard. With every bang, a fallen angel corpse fell on the ground, blood pooling around their corpse.

Raynare had at least 150 fallen angels participating in this ritual, with 20 or so downstairs in the basement, it left 130 to defend the church. Now, she only saw one or two dozen fallen angels.

With the impossible sight in front of her, the only emotion left in Raynare's heart was fear.

Outside of the abandoned church, Widowmaker and Sebastian stuck close to each other.

"Enhance." Sebastian spoke. "Enhance." He repeated.

Unfortunately for Widowmaker, bullets don't work too well against supernatural beings. However, using Sebastian's jack of all trade's ability, it was possible to enhance her bullets to point where they could eliminate fallen angels.

Thankfully, as bullets were inanimate and small, it didn't take too much of a toll on Sebastian's throat. However, the couple dozen bullets he's enhanced has left his throat start to bleed.

"Enhance." After enhancing another bullet, Sebastian put his notepad in front of Widowmaker. "I can't do many more."

"Give me two more." She replied.

"Enhance, enhance." Sebastian finished.

With two more angel-killing bullets in her magazine, Widowmaker pulled out her grapple hook and wrapped the wire around her leg. She aimed towards the largest tree in sight and grappled towards it. With little other option, Sebastian simply followed her, although much slower.

Widowmaker kept her grapple attached to the tree and hung upside down from a branch. With the blood rushing to her head, she scoped in her sniper rifle and aimed towards an escaping fallen angel. This fallen angel was Raynare, after seeing the carnage caused by only 2 humans, she opted to escape alone.

Holding her breath, Widowmaker waited a moment. Raynare was flying away with her black wings, taking quick glances back to the church every now and then.

*Bang*

When the time was right, a bullet exited Widowmaker's rifle and pierced through Raynare's right wing.

With one of her wings incapacitated, and no way to retaliate, Raynare fell from the skies and crash landed on the dirt, in the middle of a forest. Knowing that there was no way for her attacker to see her in a forest, she ran as fast as her legs could take her.

With a smile on her purple lips, Widowmaker tapped the device on her head. In an instant, multiple mechanical red eyes covered her face.

With the device over her eyes, the impenetrable barrier of the forest became completely invisible. The only thing visible in Widowmaker's eyes was a red figure with wings, stumbling through the wild.

*Bang*

Another shot rang out throughout the forest. However, the purpose of this bullet wasn't to immobilize like the last one, its purpose was to kill.

Raynare's body fell. A hole left in her forehead. Her last realization was that the bullet that took her life could never be avoided. After all, it went through multiple trees before reaching her skull.

With the escapee dealt with, Widowmaker tapped the device on her head again. The red eyes retreated and her face once again came into view. Still upside down, Widowmaker began performing maintenance on her weapon.

"Pry your eyes from my ass before I pry them from your skull." Widowmaker spoke in her heavy french accent.

The intended recipient was Sebastian, who had watched the whole thing. Of course, what he watched was not the amazing marksmanship, but Widowmaker's ass that jiggled every time she fired.

He couldn't respond verbally, therefore, he simply averted his eyes.

After a quick minute, Widowmaker was done with her weapon. She untangled herself from her grapple and descended from the tree.

Widowmaker strapped her rifle to her back before approaching Sebastian.

"Let's go, they should've finished up by now." She spoke. Seemingly unbothered that the man she was now speaking to was perving on her only a second ago.

Regardless, the both of them approached the church, the sounds of screams and shouts no longer audible.

After entering the archway of the massive door to the church, both Widowmaker and Sebastian had to step over corpses and black feathers to make it to the basement.

'Hmmm. I don't feel much after contributing to the deaths of all these people. Then again, I didn't feel much after killing the bitch that tried to end me. Maybe it's because they aren't humans?' Sebastian thought to himself. He wasn't entirely sure if something was wrong with him or not, but it wasn't something that he was too stressed about. Not feeling bad about killing will only benefit him in the future.

The both of them went down to the basement and found Konan and Shego, surrounded by corpses and facing off against the last few fallen angels.

"You bastards! You ruining everything!" A fallen angel screamed and tried to attack Konan.

Bad idea.

The light spears they summoned pierced through Konan's paper skin without resistance. However, as soon as the wound appeared, it disappeared. Some of the paper sheets that circled her simply patched up the wounds without issue.

The next second, half of the remaining fallen angels were bombarded with paper. However, rather than harmless paper cuts, fatal wounds appeared on their bodies. Every sheet of paper acted like a blade.

"Since you're so upset about me being better than you, I'll only take half." Konan spoke to Shego. The usual calm and gentle demeanor she normally had was nowhere to be seen. It seems that Shego really brought out the worst in her.

"Shut the fuck up! You've stolen 80% of my kills!" Shego shouted back before barreling into the remaining 4 fallen angels. In a split second, she punched their faces, concaving their skulls.

"Oh? I wasn't aware they were yours. Especially since they were at the opposite side of the church and had no wounds." Konan shot back.

"How badly do you want to die?" Rather than continuing the argument she knew she'd lose, Shego switched to threats.

"So, this is the innocent nun the mission spoke about?" Widowmaker stopped the fight by changing the subject.

She was referring to the blonde in nun clothing, hanging up on a cross. To avoid her potentially bleeding to death, the fallen angels didn't do a one for one reenactment of Jesus' death, but the symbolism was definitely there.
