Kerin who was standing next to Lexi subconsciously looked at Dean, only to find him wearing a puzzled look on his face.

" You didn't expect such a thing to happen didn't you?" He said with a smile.

Kerin misunderstood the reason behind Dean's feelings and reaction.

Clearly thinking he was surprised by the sudden attack.

Nonetheless, Dean didn't bother to explain and just slowly answered," Yes, I never came to Irinas City before since I didn't have permission to enter so I don't know why no one is reacting to the sudden attack on Lexi."

The permission he is speaking of is obviously from the wind church he is under.

Without their orders, Dean wasn't allowed to leave Mountain Rock City.

Well, that changed when the divers arrived and Dean left since no one will dare to stop him after they saw the people he was accompanying.

Kerin only chuckled a bit," Do you know how many citizens are in Irinas City and how many divers are in between?"

Dean looked at the size of the hovering gigantic city in the distance and said," Probably hundreds of thousands of people and thousands of divers?"

Kerin only smiled.

" About ten million."

Dean looked at Kerin with surprise." What?" He asked.

" Irinas City is the city where every human being who wanted power or more wealth will have to live in at some point," Kerin explained," Mages and Warriors take up 50% of the city. The merchants take up around 30%. Around 10% of the city is taken up by normal citizens who moved along to the city with their relatives who possess a sufficient amount of talent and power. And the remaining 10% are for divers."

" Even though we have around one million citizens and three million merchants, that number increases by severalfold in the day, reaching even ten million of each category at times."

" Farmers deliver their food from the farm lines you saw down the road early in the morning, and people will also come from across the region to sell various materials or rare items they stumbled upon in ruins. Adventures are no exception since this is the best place for them to find jobs at."

"The one million citizens who live inside of Irina's city are only able to take a spot there thanks to their background or wealth."

Dean noticed that Irinas City was very similar to a heavenly land for anyone who wanted either strength or wealth as he listened to these words.

' A holy City indeed,' Dean thought. 'Nearly everyone needs Irinas City to grow stronger, but the same city they deeply need is also in need for them since secrets are bound to be inside of it that need protection.'

"What about the attack on Lexi just now?" Dean asked. "Why is no one reacting to it?"

" Divers, mages, and warriors are all used to such occurrences from time to time," Kerin answered." Gates only chooses several people to enter them each year, but that number isn't enough. So Divers found a solution to such a problem."

" What kind of solution," Dean inquired.

" Breeding Divers." Kerin chuckled, while Lexi on the side only looked at him with amusement for a moment before she turned her head and kept conversing with Alex.

Dean was going to ask for Kerin to elaborate on the subject but the middle-aged man already beat him into it.

" We have a limited amount of divers each year to protect the world from the nightmares hidden inside the gates. The gates are unfair and they refused to answer our pleas to increase the numbers of chosen ones." Kerin paused for a moment before he continued explaining.

" Therefore, divers made a rule which only applies inside Irinas City. Mages and Warriors will be given strength and trained from young by the power of cards, and these mages and warriors will also have a chance to become divers."

" How," Dean asked.

Kerin smirked," Outsmart the divers, trick them, force them to fall asleep. In short, any attack that isn't meant to kill will be accepted, and whoever succeded in taking down the divers without any killing gets to have all of their cards."

" Only, the cards will not be taken by one guy, and he has to report to the enforcement force inside Irinas City and split the cards with four of his close friends or anyone he wants to. Like that, we ensure that more and more divers will enter the gates."

Dean nodded in understanding.

He finally found out why diver Blank quickly accepted the fact that Dean was a diver and invited him in.

Even though she had malicious intent, the group following her will not find her actions wrong since they went by the rules.

' So to acquire the title of diver all you have to do is lay your hands on a card, and with that, you are gonna be able to enter the gates without any trouble.' Dean thought.

He then took another glance at Irinas City in the distance, a chill running down his spine.

' Such a terrifying scheme, this rule alone will make the original divers themselves keep striving for more strength and never relax given their urgent circumstances which is the risk of them losing their title and access to the gates at any given moment.'

' At the same time, new divers will keep appearing on a monthly basis or even weekly if they have luck, which then ensures the safety of the world and the development of Irinas City.' Dean concluded.

At this moment, he began slightly comprehending how mages and warriors were able to exist in this world and why their power hadn't been stripped away for a long time or even given to them in the first place.

' The so-called gods are probably mages or warriors that became strong divers and shredded their past status. Well, the churches are still something I don't know the reason behind but one day that information will be revealed if I survive and keep growing stronger.'

Kerin then stopped paying attention to Dean and focused on other stuff with his group.

On the outside, he seemed quite the peaceful guy who wasn't worried about anything occurring around him given his confidence in his strength.

Alas, Dean felt that Kerin's aura had changed when they left the carriage.

For a moment, he felt like Kerin had transformed from an adorable kitten who loves playing around to a lion that hates to be disturbed or messed with.

' Well, everyone has their experiences and lives and I won't be a judge for that.' Dean mused secretly as he followed Kerin and the others while gazing around him.
